Next Week in TV 12/5: The Epic Conclusion to Doctor Who: Flux and The Expanse Returns!

LI By DRWHO42 & Scott C.

The upcoming week on television will be filled with many season and fall finales as we enter the holiday season and hiatus time.

Sunday evening, the thirteenth season of Doctor Who: Flux comes to a close with, The Vanquishers, and the conclusion Whovians will find out whether The Doctor will succeed in saving the known universe from The Flux and, more importantly, if she will regain the memories that got taken away from her. The season-long story has been complex and rewarding with the appearances of The Sontarans, Weeping Angels, and The Fugitive Doctor. There were also some new faces and aliens plus marvelous special effects this season. Now, the story has been complex and “timey wimey”, to say the least, in explaining time itself, with a lot of breadcrumbs to have us guessing.

However, a lingering question for Whovians ahead of the season finale will be whether Chris Chibnall and the writing team will be able to wrap all of the plots with a nice bow on top or leave the door open for some mysteries to remain? Nevertheless, Whovians already know that the holiday special titled Eve of the Daleks, airing January 1st, will serve as the first of three specials that will air in 2022 as Jodie Whittaker’s extended farewell to the series. What a fun journey it was for her as the Doctor.

Also, Sunday, Fear the Walking Dead will wrap for the fall with the reappearance of Alycia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) in a scene reminiscent of The 100 and reuniting with Morgan (Lennie James). We were thought to believe that Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) was going to die after being poisoned, but he made a miraculous recovery, which only took him to a darker place. TWD: World Beyond will conclude its limited two-season run, and we look forward to seeing what Scott Gimple and the team have in store for us next, including the long-awaited Rick Grimes movies.

Tuesday evening fans of the classic 80s sitcoms Different Strokes and The Facts of Life should tune to ABC for the annual Live in Front of a Studio Audience, which will highlight both series. Actors announce for this special include John Lithgow, Kevin Hart, Damon Wayans, Ann Dowd, Jennifer Aniston, Gabrielle Union, and Kathryn Hahn. Of course, there will be a few surprises in store, so you do not want to miss out.

The Expanse returns Friday. The final season of this series will have six episodes which will be released weekly until the series finale on January 14th. We know a fellow blog member does not want this series to end, and we are the same.

In television news, HBO Max released the trailer for the second season of Raised by Wolves, along with a premiere date of February 3rd, 2022. Also, Fox announces Lego Masters will return for a third season.

That is all for this week! The listing below will have the times, dates, and networks for each show mentioned above plus those that were not. Of course, please let us know what you will be watching when visiting the FoCC forum. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
