SiliCon (formerly Silicon Valley Comic Con) was one of the first pop culture events to occur after the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year’s event in August was small, yet exciting for the fans in attendance. Silicon’s 2022 event will be taking place over the same weekend (August 27-28), with a bigger, more exciting show.
Announced guests include Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), George Takei (Star Trek) and Alan Ritchson (Titans, Reacher). Additionally, a retrospective Expanse panel is planned, which will feature actors Steven Strait (Holden) and Wes Chatham (Amos), as well as showrunner Naren Shankar, writers/producers Ty Franck, Daniel Abraham, and Dan Nowak, and director Breck Eisner.
With Adam Savage (Mythbusters) at the helm of SiliCon, the event’s maker presence has increased in recent years. In addition to Savage, Kari Byron and Tory Belleci (Mythbusters), Darrell Maloney (The Broken Nerd), Frank Pillar (Frankly Built) and Bob Clagett (I Like to Make Stuff) will appear.
Of course, a con wouldn’t be complete without artists and authors! Neo Edmund (Clan of the Vein), Rachel Litfin (Chronicles of Royal High), M. Todd Gallowglas (Dead Weight), Dan Wickline (Grimm Fairy Tales), Eric Basaldua (Witchblade) and Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will be present. Also appearing are screenwriter David Gerrold (Star Trek, Babylon 5, Twilight Zone) and Alien RPG creator Andrew C. Gaska.
