Next Week in TV 9/25: La Brea Returns With More Adventures And Mysteries
By DRWHO42 & Scott C.
The fall premiere season is in full swing with tons of returning fan favorites, and a few new ones to add to your watch list.
Sunday’s animation block on Fox will include the return of The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy. Nathan Fillion’s The Rookie also returns Sunday for its fifth season. Later in the week, ABC is looking for lightning to strike twice with The Rookie spinoff titled The Rookie: Feds, starring Niecy Nash fresh from Netflix’s Dahmer – Monster: Jeffery Dahmer Story.
La Brea, last year’s surprise gem, returns Tuesday for its second season. The series may have started a bit slow; however, the underlying story evolved as the season progressed, and the writers planted several mysteries which began to emerge toward the season finale. Yes, we recommend rewatching the last two episodes from season one in preparation for the season premiere, which we anticipate will continue adding more mysteries that will play out over future episodes.
Alan Tudyk’s cult favorite series, Resident Alien, wraps up its second season on SyFy Wednesday.
Thursday evening is a night of crime fighting with CSI: Vegas on CBS, and for NBC, the full slate of Law and Order series air the second episodes after the epic triple crossover season premiere event. Fans of Supergirl will be interested in adding Law and Order to their list with the addition of Mehcad Brooks to the series. The night also offers comedy for everyone to enjoy with the returns of Ghosts and Young Sheldon on CBS, along with Call Me Kat and Welcome To Flatch on Fox.
Saturday Night Live caps off the week with Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) hosting the 48th season premiere and several new faces in the cast.
As always, the listing below will have more information regarding said shows above and content that was not.
In television news, Netflix has been busy plotting out its programming for the next few months with several exciting announcements during its Tudum event and throughout the week.
