SDCC 2023 Returning Registration Date Announced

by Transmute Jun

At the Talkback session for San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2022, Comic Con International (CCI) announced that returning registration for SDCC 2023 (formerly known as pre-registration) would take place in September or October. That promise has now been fulfilled, as CCI has announced that returning registration will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 9 am Pacific time.

Anyone who attended SDCC 2022 or Comic Con Special Edition 2021 on a paid attendee badge is eligible for returning registration for SDCC 2023. To confirm your eligibility, fans can login to their Member ID accounts to see if they have a checkmark next to their names. Anyone who is not eligible for returning registration will be eligible to purchase a badge during open registration, which will take place at a future date.

Those who have not purchased a badge since 2019 will notice a difference in the buying process this year. Rather than the ‘spinny blue circle’ waiting room with which many are familiar, fans will instead login to their Member ID accounts and then be directed to a Queue-It site, which will use the ‘walking man’ familiar from past SDCC hotel lotteries. Fans can login to access the waiting area beginning at 8 am, although the sale will not begin until 9 am.

A 4 day badge with Preview Night will cost $330. Individual day prices can be seen here. Are you planning to purchase a badge for SDCC 2023 during returning registration? Join the conversation on the FoCC forums!
