Next Week in TV 10/9: Halloween Ends and the Winchester Story Begins

October is the month for horror and supernatural programming that will dominate our TV-watch libraries. For instance, last week’s debut of Hellraiser established a new direction for the movie franchise, with a new chilling Pinhead and a very intriguing puzzle box which fans will surely snatch up once replicas are made. The week ahead will feature additions in the same genre with the series debut of the Supernatural prequel series, The Winchesters, and the finale installment in the Halloween movie franchise, Halloween Ends.
There are a couple of season and series finales on the schedule this week; topping the list is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which wraps its inaugural season on Wednesday. The series is a gem in the Disney+ lineup with several light-hearted episodes, a few interesting cameos, and a brilliant lead actress – Tatiana Maslany – who balances her quirky unassuming lawyer character with a superhero who attracts a great deal of attention. There is certainly more to explore with this character, and we hope the executives at Disney give this fun and delightful series another season.
The Lord of the Rings: Power of the Rings also wraps up its inaugural season on Friday. The Amazon Prime Video series has given viewers several weeks of visual delights, plus an expansive/slow build-up story that we think will play out over many seasons. There were a lot of “presents”, in the form of viewers witnessing the origins of things that are tied to the Lord of the Rings story. Of course, we will not spoil anything here, but we strongly recommend adding the series to the watch list if you haven’t already. The blog is certainly looking forward to the next season; production has already commenced.
Lastly, See, which stars Jason Momoa in a dystopian world where everyone is blind, wraps its third and final season this Friday on Apple TV+.
