Colorado Springs Comic Con (CSCC) takes place August 25-27, 2023, at the Broadmoor World Arena. CSCC is owned and operated by Altered Reality Entertainment (ARE), which hosts six other conventions besides CSCC. The size of Altered Reality allows it to attract such well-known talent as William Shatner (Star Trek) and Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead). However, these actors are not the only talent appearing at CSCC. They will be joined by the following celebrities: 

  • Cary Elwes-The Princess Bride
  • Walter Koenig-Star Trek
  • Cassandra Peterson-Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (Colorado Springs native)
  • John DiMaggio-Futurama
  • Billy West-Futurama
  • Chandler Biggs-The Walking Dead
  • Ross Marquand-The Walking Dead
  • Dean Cain-Lois and Clark
  • Tom Welling-Smallville
  • Ed Begley, Jr.-St. Elsewhere & Young Sheldon
  • James Murray-Practical Jokers
  • John DeLancie-Star Trek: The Next Generation
  • Katrina Law-Arrow

These, and other celebrities will be available for autographs and photo ops. Attendees will also be treated to panels where many of the stars will be interviewed. 

Along with the many guests, the exhibit floor will offer an artist alley and a variety of vendors, including the opportunity for the official grading of comic books. And for those who like to party, the official CSCC After Party will be held at the Colorado Springs Marriott on Saturday, August 26 at 10:00 p.m. Attendees must be 18 or over. 

Altered Reality Entertainment does address concerns about the SAG/AFTRA strike with the following statement. 

“Altered Reality Entertainment is a private, family-owned company. We have no association with AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) company. 

According to the union, members ‘can participate in a convention in ways that are wholly independent of characters from struck work or sponsorship by struck companies.’”

The convention promises to be an interesting and fun-filled weekend. I hope to see you there.
