Next Week in TV 8/20: A New Chapter In The Star Wars Chapter Begins with Ahsoka

This week is the week Star Wars fans have been looking forward to for some time now, with the series premiere of Ahsoka on Disney+ this Tuesday evening. The premiere will feature two episodes and then shifts to a weekly release schedule.
Other highlights this week; will range from medieval knights to a modern-day alien invasion. First up, on Sunday, is the series premiere of The Winter King. It is a retelling of the tale of King Authur, starring Agents of Shield’s Iain De Caestecker. Mid-week is the second season premiere of Invasion on Apple+.
And later this week is an (interesting) series titled Who is Erin Carter, which centers on a British teacher living an unassuming life in Barcelona who is concealing a secret from her family, which is brought out during a robbery when she is forced to protect herself and her daughter.
Nancy Drew is the latest series to close up shop on The CW with its series finale hitting this week.
And the cancellation ax is swinging once more with news from Amazon that A League of Their Own and The Peripheral both got canceled. Yes, it is reversing their previously announced second-season renewals. As such, this is a huge disappointment to fans of both series, who were looking forward to the next chapters in their respective stories.
On a positive note, though, fans of The Warrior Nun were delighted with the announcement from series Executive Producer Dean English that the series has been resurrected by continuing the story in the form of a trilogy of movies. Details of when and the platform on which the movies will be released were not disclosed; however, the fans who launched a massive #SaveWarriorNun campaign are delighted that their efforts to voice their support for the supernatural series have paid off.
