Next Week in TV 8/27: Bring on September!

As August comes to a close, we get one step closer to the fall season. As such, way more content will be arriving soon to our televisions that weren’t affected by the ongoing Hollywood strikes. When looking back, only Ahsoka in August on Disney+ made the month worthwhile.
The highlights of the week, though, are Netflix’s One Piece live-action series based on the hit manga and anime, Amazon’s The Wheel of Time 2nd season premiere, and the series debut of Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake on Max. Although What We Do In The Shadows concludes its 5th season this week, a 6th season is in the works. But the length of the wait for it all depends on when the ongoing Hollywood strikes end.
College Football gets going a bit more this week (Yay!) like with some primetime action on Saturday.

In some news, legendary Bob Barker sadly passed away at the age of 99 last week. The Spiderwick Chronicles reboot will be looking for a new home instead of streaming on Disney+, while Dune 2 got pushed to March 15th, 2024, due to the Hollywood strikes. Speaking of which, the Writers Guild of America and Alliance of Motion Picture plus Television Producers are still going back-and-forth as of this writing to get a deal done. There’s nothing new to share regarding the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio strike.
