Next Week in TV 10/1: Season One Finale for Ahsoka, The Return of Loki, and October Frights Galore!

The entertainment industry is starting to come back to life with the writers’ strike concluding after several months of picketing and negotiating. The SAG-AFTRA strike continues, but there is a glimmer of hope with the sides returning to the negotiating table in the coming days. The work stoppage may have altered the traditional TV schedule and led to numerous cancellations; however, the break could lead to another spark of ingenuity, which can lead to another superhero-verse or other television franchises. As we wait for the final pieces of the puzzle to fall into place, the nightly shows will start to return beginning, with John Oliver followed by others on the main networks.
Looking ahead to this week, the animation series, which was not affected by the strikes, returns for the fall television lineup, including Family Guy, The Simpsons, Krapopolis, and Bob’s Burgers. Other series returning this week include the popular caper series Lupin, Quantum Leap, and Magnum P.I. If you are looking for a new procedural, Found, which stars Sahnola Hampton (Shameless), premieres this week on NBC and focuses on a crisis team that tirelessly looks for missing people.
As we are in October, the blissful days of summer are behind us, and the mood has changed to Pumpkin Spice Lattes and fright-filled nights watching horror and paranormal series and more! To help mark the occasion, Chucky returns for its third season on SYFY, and a new animated series about teens fighting demons in New Orleans, titled Fright Krewe, premieres on Peacock. History is also joining the fun with an Unexplained special on Mystical Structures; and a Proof is Out There special on Bigfoot. MAX with Ghost Adventures heading to Devil Island.
A few finales drop, including the highly popular Ahsoka, The Wheel of Time, The Continental, and Only Murders in the Building. However, the God of Mischief himself, Loki, returns with season 2 of Loki on Disney+ debuting on Thursday!
In other news this week, the popular 80s detective dramedy series, Moonlighting, which served as a springboard to Bruce Willis’s movie career, is finally coming to Hulu after many years of negotiations. The series, starring Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, will be seen as a breath of fresh air for its lighthearted approach to crime solving with an office culture filled with zaniness. The series will undoubtedly delight fans of the series as well as entertain new fans as they see Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd race around Los Angeles, solving crimes while having fun. Lastly, the final season of the Umbrella Academy will release sometime next year.
