Next Week in TV 10/15: October Frights Kick Into Full Gear

The week ahead in television represents the midpoint before Halloween, and there are a variety of new entries to check out, which range from freight-filled delights to the paranormal to crime procedurals!
For instance, a coming-of-age vampire series tailored for younger audiences and families, titled I Woke Up A Vampire. The series centers on a teenager who gains vampire-like powers as she enters her teenage years. She has to figure out how to control her newfound powers while dealing with typical everyday school-aged matters, plus stop the forces that aim to disrupt day-to-day life in her hometown.
Hulu is joining the ghost-hunting genre with a double twist. Living for the Dead features LGBTQ+ paranormal investigators who are not only seeking out answers to an unknown mystery. But also looking for a way to heal those impacted by the phenomenon. This unique twist should give viewers a sense of closure when a case is closed, thus give it a watch!
Over on Amazon, Bosch, Pantheon, and Upload return for new seasons this week to the delight of fans. Netflix continues to bring new and exciting content with the fascinating Fall of the House of Usher from Mike Flanagan (Haunting of Hill House) premiering last week, and this week is (certainly) more in the bank with the series premieres of the timey-wimey murder mystery series, Bodies, and newly envisioned take on Frankenstein titled Creature.
In television news, negotiations to end the SAG-AFTRA strike have stalled for the time being, but we remain hopeful that both sides can come to a mutually beneficial agreement so productions can resume again. In other news, with the highly-rated first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon concluding. AMC decided it was fitting to announce at New York Comic Con (NYCC) that Melissa McBride be joining Season Two of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. This is exciting news for fans of the OG TWD series who have patiently waited for the duo to rejoin on the screen. A few more announcements were coming from NYCC, including the teaser trailer for the upcoming expansion into the Orphan Black saga, Orphan Black: Echos. The series, starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) along with Amanda Fix and Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, Line of Duty), delves into genetic manipulation, and the mind-bending impact on its subjects. The trailer gives us a strong impression that the series will take a completely separate path compared to the original series that didn’t.
