Next Week in TV 10/29: The Final Act for Billions and The Return of Invincible

The end of October is near, and while this may signify the final act of fright-filled content, there is plenty to enjoy on the streamers and on-demand for anything you may have missed, including the recent addition of The Nun II on Max.
The Gilded Age returns for its second season and the last installment of The Great Halloween Fright Night airs Sunday evening. The departure and series final train continues with the departure of Billions Sunday and the next episode of the final season of Fear the Walking Dead.
There are a few interesting options in the form of television movies this week to choose from, including Hurricane Season and Locked In on Netflix, and Quiz Lady on Hulu that stars Awkwafina, Sandra Oh, and Will Ferrel.
Blue Eye Samauri and the internationally-set crime thriller, Ferry, both debut this Friday on Netflix to kick off the weekend. Invincible returns to the lineup for its second season as Gen V wraps its inaugural season. Yet we are looking forward to the second season of Gen V, which was commissioned recently by Amazon Prime Video.
In entertainment news, the past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions with the news of the passing of two notable actors Richard Moll of Night Court fame and Mathew Perry of Friends. The SAG-AFTRA strike is still at an impasse, however, we remain hopeful for a mutually beneficial agreement soon that can lead to the resumption of several television and movie productions. Paramount announced the follow-up to the latest chapter in the Mission Impossible franchise will have its release delayed until 2025 with a re-envisioned title, which may open the door to future films in the franchise. This move is a departure from the original expectation that it would be Tom Cruise’s final mission as Ethan Hunt. We also saw Paramount+ announcing the cancellations of Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction.
Lastly, Whovians around the globe were delighted with the BBC and Disney+ announced the airing dates for the upcoming 60th Anniversary specials for our beloved Time Lord, The Doctor. Beginning on Saturday, November 25th, The Star Beast debuts and then the following two Saturdays – Wild Blue Yonder on December 2nd and The Giggle on December 11th. Catherine Tate returns as Donna Noble along with Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. Recent news for the specials is also exciting with the revelation of Neil Patrick Harris being cast as the Celestial Toymaker, which ties back to the First Doctor; the return of Bonnie Langford’s Mel, and possibly Alex Kingston’s River Song (although unconfirmed but was hinted by Kingston).
