Honestly if you aren't gunning for exclusives just wait like 10 minutes and wander in at your leisure.

True lol. Usually people are hunting for something preview night though. I used to try and bag swap in sails once we had our spot in line
Fun isn’t something one considers when preparing for Comic-Con, but attending does put a smile on my face

Are all the booths open on preview night? Including Artists Alley? Or is it more limited?

Most should be, Artists Alley may have some more gaps than usual. I've also encountered some smaller booths that hadn't been able to set up in time, but the majority should be open.

Based on past experience, I'd say about 60-75% of the artists will be there on Preview Night. As for the rest of the Exhibit Hall, you're looking at 90-95% open.

hey guys! first time doing preview night. have a couple questions about lines:
- where does the line form outside earlier in the day?
- I know the line gets let into sails at one point? when would that be?
- and finally, when does the line at sails finally get let inside the exhibit hall? and when we get let in the hall, which lobby are we entering from?

trying to map my game plan. would appreciate all insights from anyone. thank you!

Check out the info at this thread "How do Lines Work?"

Once inside the building there are two exhibit hall lines, basically just pick one based on where you want to go.  The badge pickup is separate from these. The unofficial blog has a good article that includes pictures and arrows: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I would also recommend reading the threads on this forum that are faq, newbies, tips, etc, and also the blog articles that are walkthroughs/faqs. That will cover a lot of the basic questions you may have.  In addition, reading last years' threads on stuff you may be interested in this year will give you a good overview on what happened and prepare you for this year.

FoCC strongly discourages people from discussing specific line times on the open forum, as this just exacerbates the lineup times for everyone.

Thank you.
