It was my favorite episode of this season.  Is this the last season?  I thought so but last night they said something like "3 episodes left this year" instead of something like "3 episodes left until the series finale".

I don't know where they are going with this.  They've introduced 2 new communities at the twilight of the series.  That's a lot to wrap up in 3 more episodes.

This is the last season, but there are 3 sets of 8 episodes each in the season. Normally there are just 2 sets of 8 episodes.

This is the first set of 8. There are 3 more of this set. The the 16 episodes will air in 2022, IIRC... spring and fall....?

The Commonwealth storyline will likely go on until the end of the season (24th episode). This Reapers thing was not in the comics, but honestly, I'm not impressed. Hopefully, that wraps up as quickly as the Termites did.

Ha; I dunno if that's the common vernacular for those peeps, but that just cracked me up on a Tuesday am  :D

Which begs the question why this year isn't season 11 and then next year it can be season 12?  I guess it's marketing to draw in viewers that may have left the show to watch the final "season" to see how it all ends.

It's more like a season and a half. I guess they figured they'd rather have 1 long season rather than 1 regular and 1 short season.

Perc, I've seen other people call them Termites before. It isn't my invention. However, I did come up with 'Hilltoppers' all on my own. ;)

It could also be a contractual thing.  For "The Sopranos," officially HBO 'broke Season 6 in half' while David Chase (show runner/creator) + cast & creatives considered the back half Season 7.  HBO _ONLY_ did that because if they did a Season 7 they'd have to pay everybody more, vs just a slightly longer Season 6 that we break up in two.

And now 1108. This was a decent episode, but it felt like the 'cliffhangers' were forced.

I agree with "decent" but I was hoping for more than decent. I hope Part Two shows us that the fireworks are custom made deadly weapons and not just fireworks.
Hopefully Daryl will start seeing Leah for who she is now and not what she used to be/what he wants her to be.

I'm thinking that it will be interesting if Leah becomes a full-fledged villain. It's interesting to see a 'good guy' become a 'bad guy', and they've certainly justified this change.

Yup, I knife to the throat and again in the back of the neck to her father figure certainly gives her villain credentials  >:D

So what did everyone think of the start of 11B? I felt like the episode was out of place... it would have made a better 'finale' to 11A.

So, i guess that Chinese rocket contraption killed every walker in the horde ::)). What Maggie did at the end made sense but how are they any different from all the other groups (reapers, whispers, wolves. termites etc.)?

That is exactly the point. Maggie has turned into Negan... arguably, worse than Negan was when he led the Saviors. She was out for revenge rather than practicality.

The Hwatcha (I only know what it is called from playing the TWD mobile games) did apparently kill most of the walkers, and at least one Reaper. ;)
