I hear you You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login ! My cosplays have gotten less intense over the years, but I remember those days when it was a production to get dressed and a small thing could happen to require a repair. Even now, my cosplays can require fixes (I had some serious wig issues at ECCC recently) and it makes all of the difference having a place where you can relax for a bit and make that repair or exchange something, or even just get out of the costume for a moment.

Good news. Maybe they are all at the Pendry.  :)  Breaking out last year's hotel info...again.
I saw on Twitter or IG that Erik Artega(?) posted he had got Hard Rock.

Not exactly Hotel related but my son was going for tickets to the Final Fantasy Convention/ Expo ( not quite sure what they call it lol) and for Final Fantasy symphony tickets and it so reminded me of Hotelapocalpyse and badge sales, we had one laptop and 2 pc’s trying. Thankfully, he got tickets both to the expo and the symphony. BTW, expo sold out in 20 minutes and symphony sold out in less than 10 minutes. It made me think in a few more weeks we will be going through this again for SDCC hotels.

For Star Wars Celebration this year, access to the con store and the Funko booth will be by reservation only with reservations going online 3/23 and 3/29 respectively … I have a feeling I’ll have gone through the hotelpocalypse experience twice before April gets here.

Yip, that’s exactly what it will feel like. As we were waiting for our “ people” to start walking, we were making jokes about how some stopped at Starbucks and were taking their time time having coffee and snacks, while ( fortunately) a couple of ours got an espresso to go and jammed to the end lol. But we also were worried we used up our luck on this and won’t have luck during the hotel sale.

Tony B. Kim (Crazy for Comic Con), said he got the Hilton Bayfront.

I'm curious.  Do vendors go thru their own version of Hotelpocalypse.   :)  I suspect they get 1st dibs on downtown.

Probably a dumb question but do professionals ever get separate hotel lottery like how vendors do? Or do they get included with everyone else at hotel lottery?
Follow up question: do Professionals have a better chance at attaining a hotel based on that or is it just like general attendees and everyone has an equal chance?

I believe that professionals are in the same group as general attendees. I remember, one year Felicia Day didn't get a room in the hotel lottery and she was begging for one on social media.

Whoa! Kinda surprising that talent are part of that too and didn't get accomodation. You'd think their agents have had phone calls to plan and guarantee a room for them.

As far as I understand it, the studios buy blocks of rooms with the anticipation of making some available for the talent. I can see how they could come up short close to the Con...

I've been a Trade Professional for many years.  We are in the same lottery as regular attendees.

I believe that this was when Felicia Day was 'representing herself' and mostly running the Geek & Sundry offsite.

It’s getting that much closerrrrrr! Cue excitement and panic!

I'm going to be at a convention that starts Thursday April 13th so I'm seriously hoping it's either the 6th or the 20th. Also getting pretty excited!

I’m at a convention in another country the first week of April, so I’m very much hoping it’s not the 6th!

I'm with you on that, April 6th wouldn't be good for me either as I'm travelling then.
