I heard rumblings that in pervious years there may be a specific entrance/door to the convention for Professionals - perhaps to enter earlier than general attendees? I was wondering if any pros have had experience with entering the con early or if that remains a myth. In my years as a pro, I have never encountered such a magical entrance. I just head to the everything else line like everyone else in the mornings.

I don't know if it gets you in earlier, but it's definitely shorter. If it's the same place as in previous years, you'll find it on the Mezzanine level where the game rooms and fan tables are (the line up takes place in the hallways right outside the gaming rooms). You take the escalator down from the Mezzanine to ground level and enter the exhibit hall in the back of Hall B where the Small Press Pavilion is.

I received my badges earlier this week without receiving an email, but my wife did receive the email. Odd, but at least they made it safe and sound.

Great idea - thanks! I will plan on contacting them tomorrow if I don't receive the badges/email today. Especially with the 4th of July weekend being in the mix - it's probably better to get in touch with them before that rather than after!
Very true on the "before" part, but they will have significant staff devoted to such issues right now.

Stuff can happen to emails. So you should also log in to SDCC MemberID - There's a tab for "badge shipping". Right below the opening paragrah about address changes etc., a "Shipping Information" section appears when the email is generated, with a link to the USPS tracking page. Remember that "it's shipped" starts when they generate the mailing label, and it can take a couple of days for the package actually to leave the Detroit depot. My package made it to the local P.O. at 6:45 this Friday morning, so I'll delay leaving for a long drive until I find out if it made it onto the local delivery truck.

There's also a new "Merch" tag where you can order 2017 shirts-hats-bags for pickup at the Con.

Got an email from CCI about 2018 Pro status application.

Mine is NOT DUE, but yeah, those are already going out for Wondercon 2018 and SDCC 2018 FYI.

Yep, got mine as well (also NOT DUE).  I think given the growing number of applications they realized that they needed to start earlier on the review process.  Click on the link and for those that need to apply the due date is August 16th.

Hi all! So this is my second year attending as a pro. I feel like there are advantages to being a pro vs. regular badge holder or even press (I was press my first two years) but I don't really know any other long-time pro attendees to ask about what those advantages might be.

Also, are there specific pro networking opportunities? Parties/party invites?

Pretty much any info/insight would be much appreciated...thanks in advance :)
