I'm finally on the last Wheel of Times book.

After I finish it I'm going to focus on any book that is not a series.  Is Ready Player One a stand alone book?

Yes it is! And you should read it! *poke*    >:D

I actually own it, I think I got it in Lootcrate.  Poke received, I'll move it up on the list.

Ooh, another good book to read that is standalone is World War Z. Don't let the horrible movie put you off of it. And if you like that, Robopocalypse is good (although that one has a sequel).

I've read World War Z. I like the title Robopocalpyse.  Does two make it a mini-series?

LOL, that's a good name for it! ;)

Robopocalypse is by Daniel Wilson. It's the same idea as World War Z: robots/machines becoming self-aware and rebelling against their human masters. Yeah, sounds kind of Terminator-esque, but it is told in a World War Z style - different voices across different continents, highlighting cultural impact and how humanity joins together to fight back.

I really enjoyed that style when I read Wold War Z.  It was really unfortunate they weren't able to translate it into film.   It would probably be better as an HBO series where each episode told a different story.

It is now added to my to-read section.

You're right. I hadn't thought of it that way, but it would make a much better TV series, with one 'story' per episode.

Currently reading Spider-Verse. About mid way through the trade. Missed out when the single issues were releasing and recently just bought the trade. 100% would recommend it to any Spider-Man fan.

Just finished listening to "You're Never Weird on the Internet, Almost " by Felicia Day, forward by Joss Whedon . That was very insightful and a little scary (GamerGate)

Ooh, is it out? I'll have to get on that. I got the sampler at SDCC which contained the first few chapters, and really enjoyed it.

Weren't there more posts in this thread?  I came to say I finished The Martian (in 2 days, really enjoyed it) and it looks like the last month has disappeared.  Or am I mis-remembering?
