There are family trees in some of the books. I know there are in the World of Ice and Fire book.
This chart is pretty nice, but it might contain some spoilers for you.

The cards aren't ordered by value in each suit! Totally bugging me. But here's a book recommendation that is both a great story and a tutorial on bridge, The Cardturner by Louis Sachar.
OCD much? (https://www.friendsofcc.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.katzy.dsl.pipex.com%2FSmileys%2Fmatchstick%2Finnocent.gif&hash=fe31c89449ead1dc0baaf6ccbbc8829bd8b12bda)
just chalk it up to another one of alyssa's quirks
yeah a number of folks have suggested that book to me- honestly i have a hard time reading. <<-- ironic no?
Much? I don't know. More than sporadic certainly, maybe occasionally? Dangit there I go again.
We listened to The Cardturner on CD, was great like all of Sachar's books. We especially liked the foghorn sounds they used to bracket the technical descriptions of bridge so that people who wanted to could tune out. Now that I think about it, I can't remember any other books about bridge.
Picked up 2 books from a discount pile yesterday that looked like they would be scary reads. "The Secret Life of Puppets", with a really creepy cover and a "Complete History of the San Francisco Horror", published around the last time the Cubs won the World Series. When I got home and actually looked at them, found that the first was literary criticism and the other was about the 1906 earthquake :-[
actually downloading books might be interesting. I'm not in the car much but I use to have an Audible subscription....... Anyone have another service they like? I found Audible quirky but that was 10 years ago

If you have not seen the Music Meister episode of Batman: the Brave and the Bold-look it up (Mayhem of the Music Meister). It's one of my favorite 1/2 hours of television ever.

Our collective dream of fried chicken and waffles has been temporarily shattered as we have received breaking news that Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles is not moving forward with its San Diego expansion at this time. Last summer, Eater shared word that Roscoe’s had purchased a location in Barrio Logan at 1678 National Avenue. The unique site, at the corner of National and Sigsbee, spans a 17,489-square-foot lot that had plenty of room for the soul food brand’s needs, which included ample parking and a 4,000-square-foot restaurant space.
Though Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles had already begun construction in Barrio Logan, a source says the company recently came to the decision to put the property back on the market in order to focus on its activities in Los Angeles, which include moving their Mid-City outpost to a brand new building which is scheduled to launch later this year. Our source assures us that Roscoe’s ownership is still committed to opening a restaurant in San Diego and will likely restart their location search in the next six months.
Stan Lee has dropped out of this weekend's Big Apple Comic Con citing "health issues," according to the New York City convention.
"Stan keeps to an amazing schedule and it seems to have taken its toll. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience but the show must go on."
Autographed memorabilia relating to Lee will still be sold at a Stan Lee Collectibles booth during the convention. The is convention is not offering refunds on admission tickets, but will offer refunds/exchanges for any advance Stan Lee autographs, photo ops, or swag bag pre-orders made.
In 2016, similiar health issues led Lee to cancel what was billed as his "final" apparance at Comic-Con International: San Diego. He had since resumed appearances, billing some of them as his "final" time at those conventions, including 2016's New York Comic Con.
Get better soon, Stan!Huh...I thought he was done w/the convention circuit...

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, Hasbro Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) is gearing up to celebrate World MONOPOLY Day on March 19 by announcing the winning tokens from the MONOPOLY Token Madness Vote. Fans across the globe have spoken, and the eight tokens set to "pass GO" in the next generation of the MONOPOLY game are the Scottie dog, top hat, car, battleship, cat, T-rex, rubber ducky, and penguin tokens.
During the MONOPOLY Token Madness vote, January 10 - 31, fans across more than 100 countries selected the eight tokens they hoped to see in the next generation of the game from a list of 64 contenders. This monumental MONOPOLY campaign drew more than 4.3 million votes, empowering fans to make their mark on this iconic game. The new, fan-picked lineup of MONOPOLY Tokens includes:
- Scottie Dog Token: The best friend of Mr. MONOPOLY since the 1950s, the Scottie Dog token proved its popularity by receiving the most votes - making it the overall first place winner.
- T-Rex Token: The mighty T-Rex token stomped its way into the new game, garnering the second most overall votes and making history as the first dinosaur token of Mr. MONOPOLY.
- Top Hat Token: Coming in third place in overall votes, the Top Hat token - a staple in the game since 1935 - will keep Mr. MONOPOLY looking dapper well into the future.
- Car Token: This 1930s roadster will continue fueling adrenaline rushes for Mr. MONOPOLY in the next generation of the game; coming in fourth place in overall votes.
- Rubber Ducky Token: Coming in fifth in overall votes, the new Rubber Ducky token is truly all its "quacked" up to be.
- Cat Token: Fans voted the Cat token into the game in 2013, and she clawed her way back in as one of the eight winning tokens, coming in sixth place in overall votes.
- Penguin Token: Waddling into the game in seventh place in overall votes, the Penguin token is the new style muse for Mr. MONOPOLY.
- Battleship Token: The beloved Battleship token represents the first round-the-world trip for Mr. MONOPOLY; securing the eighth spot in overall votes, this token's legacy will cruise into the next generation of the game.
"The MONOPOLY Token Madness Vote was our biggest fan-powered program to date and the global MONOPOLY community has spoken!" said Jonathan Berkowitz, senior vice president of marketing for Hasbro Gaming. "The next generation of tokens clearly represents the interests of our fans around the world and we're proud to have our iconic game impacted by the people that feel most passionate about playing it."
Some of the success of the tokens making their way into, or keeping their spot in the MONOPOLY game can be attributed to many brands and organizations campaigning for select tokens. Car sharing service, Zipcar campaigned to keep the Car Token in the game by tweeting playful and often hilarious memes to their fans asking them to #SaveTheCar. The New England Aquarium rallied fans of their adorable Penguin population to #VotePenguin, and hosted MR. MONOPOLY to meet the penguins on the day the vote kicked off, which was broadcasted via Facebook live to the MONOPOLY brand's nearly 11 million Facebook fans.
While the Scottie dog, top hat, car, cat, and battleship tokens can breathe a sigh of relief, the iconic thimble, boot, and wheelbarrow tokens didn't make the cut. Instead, they're planning to take some time off and will not be part of the next generation of the MONOPOLY game.
- "Sew" long, Thimble: The lucky Thimble token is down on its luck. With just over 81,000 votes, this token will be left out of the next generation of the game after more than 80 years.
- The Boot gets booted: Mr. MONOPOLY needs a new pair of kicks, because the once popular boot token - modeled after the working shoe of the 1930s - received just over 83,000 votes, and was ultimately booted from the game.
- Bye, bye Wheelbarrow: The wheelbarrow token, a staple in the game since the 1950s, will wheel no more. With just over 60,000 votes, this historic token was voted out of the next generation of the game.
Can you imagine if they made a Monopoly: San Diego Comic-Con edition? 'Go' turns into 'Hall H', all the tokens turn into items from pop culture, throw in a cosplayer or two, 'Free Parking' into, well, parking...In the UK they did individual cities Monopoly and each square was something to do with that city.
Hmmm...I kinda like this thought....
Speaking of Star Trek, am I the only one that thinks that the Amazon Echo looks like the Whale Probe from Star Trek IV? It has the shape! Lol
In the UK they did individual cities Monopoly and each square was something to do with that city.
I have my Nottingham Monopoly unopened.
What would jail be in SDCC monopoly? The Starbucks line?

They used to do that in the states for fundraisers. I feel sorry for families that get the GoTG Monopoly, there's a baby Groot token that's going to be the source of some drama.
What would jail be in SDCC monopoly? The Starbucks line?
Clearly it's the Epic Waiting Room.
And there definitely would not be any FREE PARKING!
instead of free parking (which, you can park for free, you just down the street under the bridge down where the hobos live), it should be free swag!Free swag! That's a winner!

Apologises in advance for this little rant.I don't know why they are like that. Seems very narrow minded. I don't know if their shop exclusives show up anywhere else like Pop Cultcha or Forbidden Planet. That's how a lot of the international folks I know get the Funko exclusives from other US stores. I would be willing to order one for you and ship it to you or bring it to SDCC. I bought a set for myself. They are so cool. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.
I saw Funko advertise a 3 piece Ramona Flowers dorbz set. I went straight to the site and looked to order it as it's limited to 2500.
Turns out Funko only ship to the US. I'm sorry... only to the US???!!! WTF!!!! Do they not realise it's 2017 and worldwide shipping is now a given?! No don't worry Funko. You keep your one country attitude and don't worry about all the other fans around the world. No no I insist. You stick to your antiquated sales methods. Keep those blinkers on.
Rant over. Sorry peeps.

If you’ve shopped at GameStop.com between mid-September and early February, it’s possible your credit card information has been compromised according to a report by the web security blog, KrebsOnSecurity. After reaching out to the video game retailer about the breach, GameStop confirmed to KrebsOnSecurity that it had been notified by a third party that possible payment card data used for purchases on the company’s internet storefront were being sold on another website.
“That day a leading security firm was engaged to investigate these claims. Gamestop has and will continue to work non-stop to address this report and take appropriate measures to eradicate any issue that may be identified,” the company said in its statement to Krebs. Krebs is also reporting that CVV2s, the three-digit security codes on the backs of credit cards, are among the information that was stolen in addition to credit card numbers, expiration dates, and addresses. CVV2 information isn’t supposed to be stored by online stores, but hackers can use malicious software to copy the data before it’s encrypted and processed.
“We regret any concern this situation may cause for our customers,” GameStop said in its statement to Krebs. “GameStop would like to remind its customers that it is always advisable to monitor payment card account statements for unauthorized charges.” GameStop has not yet responded to a request for comment.
James Earl Jones is to be honored at this year’s Tony Awards with a special prize for lifetime achievement in theater.
The awards administration committee announced Thursday that Mr. Jones, a renowned stage, film and television actor with an unforgettably deep voice, would be given the recognition at the awards ceremony June 11.
Mr. Jones, 86, is a theater regular who has appeared in 20 Broadway plays, starting with “Sunrise at Campobello” in 1958. He most recently appeared in a revival of “The Gin Game” in 2015. He has won two Tonys, in 1969 for “The Great White Hope” (when Clive Barnes, a New York Times critic, wrote, “If anyone deserves to become that occasional thing, a star overnight, then Mr. Jones deserves no less”) and in 1987 for “Fences.” About that performance, Frank Rich, a critic for The Times, wrote, “A black man, a free man, a descendant of slaves, a menial laborer, a father, a husband, a lover - Mr. Jones’s Troy embraces all the contradictions of being black and male and American in his time.”
He has performed in multiple television shows, like “The Guiding Light” and “Roots,” and many films, like “Dr. Strangelove” and “The Lion King.” But he is best known as the voice of Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” films.
The Tony Awards previously announced two other honorary prizes: Baayork Lee, an actress, choreographer and director who founded the National Asian Artists Project and is best known as a member of the original cast of “A Chorus Line,” will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, which recognizes volunteerism, while two longtime general managers, Nina Lannan and Alan Wasser, will receive Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theater.
The Tony Awards, presented by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing, honor plays and musicals that are staged on Broadway each season. This year’s award nominees will be announced next Tuesday, May 2.

I keep having to blow my nose but I forgot to mute my phone, after the fourth time or so the person running the meeting finally yelled, "can people please mute their phones! Or at least whoever is having construction going on nearby!"
We're right there with you. I would love to see a graphic of a concert showing how people got their tickets and where all of the money went. Was in a meeting this morning, and this one guy never mutes his phone, and it sounds like he is snorting cocaine, or something. Once the mute your phones plea goes out, we get sweet relief!

Updated May 12, 2017: George Pérez has issued a new update on his health and recovery from a recent heart attack. According to the veteran creator, his prognosis is positive, but will require the cancellation of his remaining planned convention appearances for 2017. Here is Pérez's statement in full:
Hello again.
First of all I want to once again thank all the wonderful people who have sent me good wishes, positive thoughts and prayers regarding my recent heart attack. Although I feel much better now after the two operations, I have been warned by my cardiologist about the pitfalls of being too complacent or overconfident.
I have been reminded that my heart has been injured and weakened and that it will take time and patience to fully heal. My doctors (and my understandably frightened wife) were especially and specifically adamant about my need to avoid flying and participating in the marathon sketching and signing sessions I have done for so many years. It’s just more than my body can take, at least for the next several months. I am being set up for some cardio-rehab sessions and have hooked up with a new endocrinologist to help manage my diabetes. I'm also still undergoing treatments for my eyes as well, so it is going to be a pretty extensive overhaul for me, with the hopes of coming out a much improved version of my current self.
This harsh slap of reality is very stinging, but it is unavoidable. I'm a man of limitations right now and those limitations mean that I will now have to disappoint a lot of fans and cause major inconvenience to a lot of convention organizers who relied on me to help bolster attendance at their functions.
I hate this, I really do. I feel so much better than when I had the attack, but I'm not as healed as I felt I was. My engine is damaged and needs time to be repaired.
So, as should come as no surprise to anyone reading this now, I am forced, under doctor’s orders to cancel all convention appearances for at least the rest of the year. I've already contacted all the organizers, who were extremely kind and understanding, and they will be making announcements of their own once this update is made public.
I have also had to cancel other more personal travels, like a vacation with my wife in New York (including seeing Glenn Close in SUNSET BOULEVARD) and a wedding of a young couple closer than family to me. To put it mildly, this sucks. But, it’s what needs to be done right now if I'm ever to return to the convention circuit again (albeit at a slower pace).
One exception is an appearance at a charity event supporting the LOVE IS LOVE project to be held during MegaCon on Friday, May 26th between 6:30 & 7:30 (creators only) and 7:30 to 10 PM for paid attendees (limit of 150 tickets). I will only be signing & chatting only ( no sketches, sorry ), but it’s for a good cause and I hope I get to see a good number of fans there.
I have had a good life, and still do, and this is just a bump in the road. With proper maintenance the ruts in the road will be smoothed out. But until then, there is work I must do, and with the support and love of my wife, family, friends and fans, I will see you all again real soon!
Original story: George Pérez has given an update to fans following a heart attack that led him to cancel his appearance at this past weekend's East Coast Comic Con in Secaucus, New Jersey.
I am so genuinely flattered, humbled, and grateful for all the emails, texts, phone calls and messages that I’ve received regarding my latest medical situation. To clarify the facts to everyone: Yes, I did have a heart attack. I was on a plane leaving from Los Angeles, CA, heading to Secaucus, NJ for a comic convention when I started to feel some discomfort in my chest. It was mild and sporadic at first, but became more intense after I checked into my hotel in New Jersey.
I called the front desk and they called for an ambulance. I also phoned my longtime friend and art agent Spencer Beck, who contacted my wife Carol, who was visiting friends in England. He figured correctly that news of my affliction and possible speculations could fill the social networks, and didn’t want Carol to find out that way. At first it was speculated that I may have had blood clots that may have reached my heart or lungs, but a second EKG determined that I had indeed suffered a heart attack with some rather severe blockage in some of the vessels.
As of this writing, I have already undergone one operation to place a stent to clear the blockage on the right side of my heart and am scheduled to have the left side taken care of today. So far, recovery has been going well and life should be relatively normal after that, although I may have to pull back on the non-stop sketching-marathons that people have come to expect from me at conventions. There may even be a few cancelations, depending on medical advice.
I apologize in advance to those I may disappoint. With this new medical wrinkle added to my past issues regarding my eyesight, there are likely a good number of you feeling a bit sorry for me. Please, don’t be. I’ve had a great run and have been blessed not only with a great career, but also, thanks to all of you nice people buying video games, t-shirts, action figures, collected editions, and watching all those movies and TV shows, my royalty income allows me financial security for life. There are so many of my peers who do not have that luxury. Unfair, but true. So, if these bits of misfortune do need to happen to someone, let it be me. Granted, my output may be curtailed, but I will still be drawing, and loving it as much as ever. Thank you all for caring.
See you in the funny papers.
George Pérez

Stan Lee will be participating in a unique event August 22 in Los Angeles titled Extraordinary: Stan Lee. Compared to the classic NBC show This Is Your Life, Extraordinary: Stan Lee will have "The Man" joined by unspecified celebrity guests to give thanks to the comic book icon and highlight different periods in his life. The event is being organized by In-Theater Live, Agents of Mayhem, and Stan Lee Collectibles.
“Back when I started writing, I never could have dreamed that someday these little characters I thought up would connect with so many people in so many places, let alone on the silver screen... I’m just floored,” said Lee. “I’m so lucky to have such great friends and supportive fans who continue to inspire me and have kept me going.”
Extraordinary: Stan Lee is scheduled to take place August 22 at Los Angeles' Saban Theatre. In addition to the audience in attendee, fans across the United States will be able to watch the event liva via streaming to select theaters to be announced in July.

Came across some notes my wife was making about our upcoming trip to Iceland (highlighting is mine)
I am such a lucky man.
I'm growing concerned amidst swirling rumors that in the comics, Thor/Jane Foster may not survive her stage 4 cancer...to that end, I'm going to start the "If Jane dies, we riot" movement!
Fandom bashing/mocking is something that might come from muggles but non muggles as well? Back at SDCC, I overheard someone remark rather condescendingly "people are still into My Little Pony?????".
I chose to walk away and not listen to the rest of the conversation but what I wanted to tell them was that "Why yes, and it's so successful for Hasbro that they have a movie coming in a few months with guest stars you might have heard of...Emily Blunt, Kristen Chenowith, Zoe Saldana, Liev Schreiber, Michael Pena...The tv show is going very strong too...it's the most relentlessly optimistic show on the air and inspires us to build a better world and also has had superb guest stars whom you may have heard of...Felicia Day, Patton Oswalt, William Shatner".
Of course, not everyone attending SDCC is going to be interested in everything featured there, that's just impossible, but I'm very taken aback that some would disparage fandoms that they're not a part of.
I would agree. Just because it's not what you're into doesn't mean it's bad. I think all of us have been on the wrong end of disparaging comments. We should be more considerate as fans.
And FWIW, while I wasn't impressed by the Twilight movies, I did enjoy the books (particularly the first one) as romance novels, which is how they were intended. And my kids both went through a MLP phase (and have a fondness for it now, although my son is embarrassed to mention it any longer).
Awww, your son shouldn't be embarrassed at all! In addition to all the positives I mentioned about the show, they have a lot of fun references - the season premiere had a Weeping Angel as well as a Predator handshake scene.
Okay, now my daughter is asking which episode number this was....?
I had a dream last night that was us, at SDCC, waiting in the everything else line for fun. I don't think we ever even left the line... the main event was apparently the excitement of the line itself
Full disclosure: I read all 4 Twilight books and I think they are horrible.
However, I'd never even heard of Twilight the first time I encountered fans of the series. It was in line for Hall H whatever year Twilight was there first, and I was basically surrounded by Twilight fans. I found them mostly awful even then. They were all super excited, which was great, but they were also all talking about how they were the greatest most dedicated passionate fans of anything ever and nothing else had never come close. (Which I found... uniformed and annoying, to say the least.)
Then, during their panel (which I had to sit through for whatever I was waiting for), they screamed and sighed over every. single. answer. It was the most irritating panel I'd ever sat through.
I don't fault anyone for being a passionate fan of anything, but I do believe the ways in which many if not most Twilight fans expressed their fandom were obnoxious.

Frank Darabont to Seek More Than $280 Million From AMC at 'Walking Dead' Profits Trial
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/frank-darabont-seek-more-280-932921
AMC has enjoyed record ratings for The Walking Dead, but will it survive a legal apocalypse? On Monday, in what could become the biggest ever profits case in television history, and one that deserves widespread attention as merger-hungry media companies grow ever more vertically consolidated, Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman and notable series producers Gale Anne Hurd, Glen Mazzara and David Alpert have filed suit against AMC with the allegation they've been massively cheated.
The new case follows the one from Frank Darabont, the show's other co-creator, who was fired as executive producer in the middle of the second season and is demanding $280 million in an accounting lawsuit that has reached the summary judgment phase. Now, the other key creatives on the series are targeting significant damages of their own. With the participation of Kirkman, whose comic books served as source material for Walking Dead, and Hurd and Alpert, who continue to work on the series, AMC finds itself in court against those whose ongoing involvement is crucial to Walking Dead's and perhaps AMC's future.
"This case arises from a major entertainment conglomerate’s failure to honor its contractual obligations to the creative people - the 'talent,' in industry jargon - behind the wildly successful, and hugely profitable, long-running television series The Walking Dead," opens the complaint filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. "The defendant AMC Entities exploited their vertically integrated corporate structure to combine both the production and the exhibition of TWD, which allowed AMC to keep the lion’s share of the series’ enormous profits for itself and not share it with the Plaintiffs, as required by their contracts."
Here's the full complaint. The claims are breach of contract, tortious interference and unfair or fraudulent business acts under California business code.
Like Darabont's lawsuit, the plaintiffs are questioning the amount "paid" by AMC Network to AMC's studio arm for the right to air the show. Because the companies are affiliated with each other, what's seen on Walking Dead profit participation statements are imputed license fees, meaning a stand-in figure that doesn't really mean that money has exchanged hands. During the first four seasons of Walking Dead, AMC was imputing a fee of $1.45 million per episode. That's now up to $2.4 million, but is still less than the non-imputed license fees of Better Call Saul (a Breaking Bad spinoff) and Mad Men, which are produced by non-affiliated Sony and Lionsgate, respectively, and don't command NFL primetime-type ratings as Walking Dead does.
"There can be no question that, if AMC Studios and AMC Network were not part of the same conglomerate, the story would be very different," states the complaint, later adding, "Those substantial license fees for Mad Men and Breaking Bad continued in seasons five and beyond, even though their ratings were a fraction of TWD’s. And while the AMC Network only obtained a limited number of playdates for those series as part of the comparatively-higher license fees it paid for them (both on television and its affiliated websites), the AMC Entities unilaterally took for themselves the right to run an unlimited number of runs of TWD in perpetuity on all AMC platforms."
In their own lawsuit, Darabont and his CAA agents are leaning on financial experts to make the case that the series should be imputing up to $30 million per episode, which over seven seasons would represent a staggering amount of money that AMC isn't booking in revenue.
Kirkman, Hurd, Mazzara and Alpert haven't yet gotten to the point of suggesting what the precise imputed license fee should be, but that's only a matter of time. In the meantime, they are running through other alleged ways they've been denied a fair share of profits. Among them are deductions taken by AMC for payments to other Walking Dead profit participants. They also object to how AMC turned down an offer from another party for international rights to the series "so that [AMC] could do a related-party deal for much less than the related party offered, again keeping the profits at conglomerate level and not passing them through to AMC Studios and the participants."
The lawsuit, being handled by Ron Nessim and other lawyers at Bird Marella, speaks of the decades-long rise of vertical integration in entertainment and media. The subject has always been controversial and continues to be so as a giant like AT&T proposes to buy a conglomerate like Time Warner. Over the years, creatives in Hollywood have been leery of the power concentration and have reacted to corporations both producing and distributing content with litigation. Past lawsuits over films from the Police Academy series to This Is Spinal Tap have accused studios of manipulating the amount of money going in and the expenses going out so as to essentially make profits disappear through practices like packaging, distribution fees, and marketing overhead.
"Hollywood accounting" is hardly a secret anymore, however, so when studios and talent deal with each other these days, the negotiators representing talent are mindful of how things can go wrong. But that doesn't mean there's no room for ambiguity and continued legal fighting.
Kirkman, whose deal entitles him to 5 percent of profits from Walking Dead, came to what his attorneys say was a "related-party provision" that guaranteed that AMC's transactions with affiliated companies would be on monetary terms comparable to transactions with non-affiliated companies. Alpert, who got 2.5 percent of profits, Hurd, who got 7.5 percent, and Mazzara, who took over Darabont's role as the showrunner for a couple of seasons and got 1.5 percent, each cite provisions in their own deals including most-favored-nations clauses that allegedly amounted to protection from AMC self-dealing.
In other words, the Walking Dead executive producers say they thought they had it all figured out only to be blindsided.
AMC, of course, hasn't yet filed any response to the latest lawsuit, but in the Darabont case, AMC has been arguing that license fees for Mad Men, Breaking Bad and other shows are irrelevant as the imputed license fee itself became the answer to calculating contingent compensation in the context of studio licensing to its network affiliate. Represented by Marc Kasowitz and others at his firm, AMC has contended that fee reflects a fair negotiation and suggested that those upset are now trying to achieve through post-agreement litigation what they couldn't through pre-deal negotiation. AMC has also touted millions of dollars recently sent to profit participants.
In response to the newest lawsuit, an AMC spokesperson says, "These kinds of lawsuits are fairly common in entertainment and they all have one thing in common - they follow success. Virtually every studio that has had a successful show has been the target of litigation like this, and The Walking Dead has been the No. 1 show on television for five years in a row, so this is no surprise. We have enormous respect and appreciation for these plaintiffs, and we will continue to work with them as partners, even as we vigorously defend against this baseless and predictably opportunistic lawsuit."
Next week, a New York judge will hold an oral hearing about the summary judgment motions in the Darabont case. What already was going to be a consequential showdown has now become even more so by multiples thanks to this newest case. Although the Kirkman lawsuit doesn't specify a target for compensatory and punitive damages, based on what Darabont's lawyers have computed, damages could approach a billion dollars. But even putting aside the huge monetary stakes, the fight over how AMC has treated accounting on the most successful cable television show ever will be felt in the industry for quite some time. It will surely influence new dealmaking moving forward.
My sister and her husband got me an R2D2 charging pod for Christmas last year. I accidentally left it on my desk at work and someone stole it out of my office. :(
Total random question: What's for dinner?
I'm makin' prime rib, experimenting w/the "slow cook" method...150 degrees for about 6-or-so hours...
Pizza and Game of Thrones.
I'm actually kind upset that by definition I can't derail this thread. :)
Lol, same. (For dinner.) Pizza is on the way and GoT is recording, I probably shouldn't be anywhere near the internets.
Ugh just had a conversation with one of those people that the new movies and comics aren't what they were when he first read them so none of it should have ever been made. That all they are doing is making them to make money. That argument puzzles me because that is what they were doing the first round and since when does something have to end because it's not the original version?
Aren't we still re-telling Shakespeare?
To me the idea of retelling the same story the same way sounds boring. I like new interpretations, the progress forward, and the new additions.
To me the reason re-makes fail is because they try to copy. The new planet of the Apes series is amazing because they to the heart and soul and re-told the story.
Yeah, sometimes people can get a little purist.
One of the things that I like about comic books is that they can change a character by different writers or artists working on a character. One of the paraphrased quotes in the Cap 1 DVD is "He's been throwing that shield around for 80 years and people are still coming up with new things he can do with it."
And while the comics will always be first in my eyes over other media, some of the interpretations on screen are fantastic and have make me like aspects of the comics more.
For example, Ledger's Joker which was a fantastic take, but the more surprising for me was Cap. I had never been a big fan of his in the comics (nor did I hate him, he was just bland to me), but because of the movies I have a better appreciation for the character.
I do have to admit that the X-movies renditions of the Dark Phoenix Saga and the Wolverine limited series did hurt me on the level of my soul, but i just pretend they don't exist and problem solved. :)

FCBD 2017 publisher Titan Comics has another special day planned at comic shops this year: Doctor Who Comics Day on Saturday, September 2nd! They've announced The Lost Dimension, a new storyline spanning eight chapters that crosses over into all four ongoing Doctor Who comic book series following the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors.
Let's face it they aren't always going to get it right. That's not a reason to try though because when they get it right it's awesome.
I love that you brought up the example of Cap. He did the same but said Green Arrow shouldn't have a show because he is boring in the comic and making him exciting was wrong. Every time someone is a nah sayer I'm going to ask you for an uplifting point of view. I like your way of seeing things way better.
For all you baseball and/or Dylan O'Brien fans, last night Dylan threw out the first pitch at the Mets/Phillies game! I bought last minute tickets and was able to take this (very poor quality) video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I48AOi-WtXc&t=1s
For some reason I thought it'd be Hoechlin since he's, like, the baseball guy. Even though you were talking about it all day, I did a double take when I realized it was Dylan instead.
Funny enough, Hoechlin actually threw out the first pitch at a Dodgers' game in, I think, 2012. Dylan was catching for him.
You look like a snooty film critic! ;)Hahahahha. Yeah I look quite pompous there. No idea what I was doing.
Congrats on your first TV spot, FBS!
I just read that CGC is in Florida and their office is undamaged. Seems of interest to some folks here.there may or may not have been a few comic's in their space /yikes/

'Walking Dead' Producers Claim Massive AMC Profits Scam in New Lawsuit
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/walking-dead-producers-claim-massive-amc-profits-scam-new-lawsuit-1029197
Another twist in this bitter saga that gives further substance to the proverb that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” also has to be the more than $43.4 million in “unreported” and reduced” receipts that Hacker, Douglas & Company also unveiled for the plaintiffs. Missing big bucks that includes an $18,800 Comic-con TWD banner that was pegged at costing $37,600, and $18 million from electronic sell of the Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira led series via iTunes.

What are the odds (and please feel free to tell me the odds) of their being deaths on the train tracks from San Diego to Los Angeles both yesterday and today?
My trip back home was delayed an hour and 40 min because of this and I knew nothing about either accident until arriving at the station this morning. It’s as if once SDCC was over, I returned to my regularly scheduled bad luck in real life.
My cousin got married on Monday and he walked down the aisle to the theme from Jurassic Park. ;DWhen my sister got married, she had us bridesmaids walk down to the hobbit/shire music from Fellowship of the Ring! She herself walked down to some music from Love Actually.
Also instead of bride/groom figures on their cake, they had dragons.
For the seventh season of GoT, Coster-Waldau made $942,857 for each of the seven episodes of the epic drama. His compensation for the eighth season was bumped to $1,066,667 per episode. The actor also got $1.5 million as an advance on a share of the show's profits plus he earned other bonuses — for example, $50,000 when the series' actors earned a nomination for outstanding performance by an ensemble for the SAG Ensemble Awards and $10,000 for the use of his likeness for GoT trading cards. Plus, he had other work: An Apple commercial (he got paid $750,000), a L'Oreal advertisement ($230,000), an appearance at Comic Con ($75,000), and so forth.
It sounds like HBO paid the $75K, not CCI.
My parents bought me Thin Mint cupcake mix for Christmas. I finally got around to making them. They are gooooood.
Blah. Well, there's a really high chance I won't be doing SDCC next year because I probably have to have some pricey dental surgery. I've been so lucky to be able to go for so many years in a row, but it still bites. I'm planning a trip to Spain, and just coming to an acceptance that I'd rather let go of SDCC for a year if I can only pull off one trip.
I'm so sorry! Dental work is soooo expensive!! I hope it goes well, and that you have a fabulous time in Spain :)
Uggh it really is! I'm debating in my head whether I should get a badge just in case, but I'd rather just put that money towards whatever I owe the dentist. But, then sometimes miracles happen so maybe I should try for a badge anyway.

Did you hear about the coupon stacking at Target a couple of months ago? After stacking six 15% off coupons and a $20 off coupon, the PS4 Pro was $130. The regular PS4 was even cheaper. Needless to say, every PS4, Xbox and Switch was sold out online and at every Target store in the country.

Just popping in to say and HI everybody! It is super, super weird to not be planning for SDCC this year. On one hand, I'm super bummed my group got shut out of badge sale, but on the other hand, I just gave my periodontist $4k so maybe I'm ok not having the comic con expenses coming up.
anyway! I miss the anxiety and stress of sdcc!!! hahaha
How many of you guys get regular dreams of SDCC?
Me, I always have this one particular dream: I'm in San Diego for Comic Con, but things keep coming up, like I'm at an offsite, or I'm lounging in the hotel room, or I'm wandering through the Gaslamp, and then suddenly it's Saturday, and I realize I haven't even stepped foot inside the convention center yet. So I've wasted half my time without ever actually attending SDCC. I have this particular dream maybe once every two months or so. It's always a variation of the same Comic Con dream.
I bring this up now because I had another such dream last night, except this time, as I realize I haven't gone inside the convention center yet, I am telling my friend this was just like the dream I always have about missing most of the convention. So did I just get Inception'd by referencing this particular dream in a dream about this dream?
All the time when I plan for the two July conventions I attend. People don't really know how intense it is to go a large convention. Ha ha.I’m seriously already 90% packed for SDCC. My cosplay is already to go.
"Seriously, you start working on stuff this early?!" (I get this all the time when I explain Comic-Con and Anime Expo.)
I’m seriously already 90% packed for SDCC. My cosplay is already to go.
Whoo hoo! What's the cosplay? Are you planning on any test runs at spring cons?No WonderCon for me this year. A visit to a daughter in Texas is in the cards this spring. Golden Age Flash will make an appearance at SDCC this year. You?

I've loved all the programming that's been offered in the last year or so and it will end in mid-October (my wife is hosting an Arts educators conference in Balboa Park using CCI Museum as one of the venues, and her event will be the last one before it closes for construction). I missed this event, but it looked really cool

has anyone ever gotten a blanket made from old t-shirts?That’s an awesome idea! I’ve got dozens of great shirts from Cons that are just sitting in drawers.

Would Lyft/Uber be cheaper for you? Honestly I don't drive so I don't know about cost comparisons. But a friend of mine lives near Mission Valley and it was like $20 each way including tip. So depending on price and location.... it miiiight be cheaper.yeah, but then there's the 'what to do with my stuff'--- thx for an cost of the lyft, i hadn't priced it out yet.
yeah, but then there's the 'what to do with my stuff'--- thx for an cost of the lyft, i hadn't priced it out yet.

During my first SDCC I was like 80% packed like 6 months ahead of time. I don't know man. I just don't know. I've clearly become me relaxed now. 88 days... see? I'm chill. I'm TOTALLY CHILL. ???LOL!
I don't think I've completely unpacked from last year
Honestly same. There are some things that stay in my travel bag year round. But I need to open up everything, shake it out, maybe spritz some stuff* with Febreeze, and then go from there lol.
*note: the "some stuff" isn't clothes. Those have been actually washed lol.
There are clothes (mostly shirts) that I only typically wear at Cons. They get washed and repacked in my Con duffle the day after I get back. So, I guess I'm in the same state of always being packed for the next year as well. That, and I always wash my Superman "beverage" thermos and repack it as well. :)
I don't think I've completely unpacked from last year
So what do you guys use for condensing your stuff while packing? I'm going through my two suitcases this weekend to get an idea of which is bigger to take/can fit the most items in them if I get either a compression pack of a packing cube, but I don't have the best luck with compression packs?

Oh, man. I was at NYC Pride yesterday and it was a MADHOUSE. World Pride + 50th anniversary of Stonewall = INSANE AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE. I have NEVER been to a Pride parade that crazy before. Walking to the parade was like a parade. It took my friends and I like an hour to find a spot where we had a semi-decent view.

It is with great sadness that I announce the retirement of my beloved Yahoo backpack. It has been my faithful companion since 2005, a Millennium Falcon of backpacks that never looked like much but always had it where it counted.
You were hardworking and you served me well.

Great White Shark sighting alert? Wow. Shouldn't be surprised though. We get "box jellyfish" alerts. For some reason we don't get shark alerts, but we get a lot of bites out here. Where you at?
I've got some options, that's one of today's projects, see which one works best. Nothing Star Wars related unfortunately, though I do have a Millenium Falcon keyfob somewhere.
In other news, our country alert system for the first time ever sent out a Great White shark warning, wonderfully titled
"GREAT WHITE SHARKS SIGHTINING!"
It's not just a sighting, it's the SIGHTINING! (Actually I think a typo is completely appropriate when you are sending out a warning about sharks.

I hope everyone who was returning to the east coast had better travel than I did! Thunderstorms in NYC delayed my flight four hours, and then getting home from the airport was a nightmare. This is nearly identical to what happened in 2017.
We dodged the hot weather last week. It's been really hot since SDCC ended. Like Bangkok hot. Gone are the days of the dry heat in San Diego. It's muggy. Gone are the days of crystal clear skies. There's those perpetual storm clouds looking east. The emergency broadcast system even had to issue a flash flood warning. Rain in July? My AC is on from 9am-9pm. Normally I don't have to turn it on until about 2-3pm and it's off at 7pm when it starts cooling down. It's the new climate.

It's 100% not opening in March. And the summer is only phase one, which doesn't include the "E-ticket" ride. It will most likely be just the land itself, the meet and greet, and a restaurant. But being that it's Disney, you know it's going to be cool.

The annual gecko invasion has begun. Most of the time, I can catch them and take them outside without any harm. Today, it cost one it's tail. Most of the time they don't even struggle. I pick them up and they are totally passive. This one struggled. It was in my hand and the next thing I know it was out except for it's tail. :(
I expect there to be a bunch of baby geckos popping out from everywhere in a few weeks.
It's neat that the Convention Center is still doing a themed bar, but it's weird that the giveaways take place 7/13-7/17 instead of during the con. And then you have to pick them up in person 7/20-7/21? It would be nice if they would ship them even if you had to pay the shipping cost.
I didn't even know that the convention center made chocolate for comic-con every year.last year they had 4 different flavors. two were outstanding, a dark & milk choc. The third was a spicy choc & the 4th a white flavor.

Greetings, it’s Lance, President at ReedPop.
You’re receiving this because the entire ReedPop team misses you and felt overdue in giving you an update on things in ReedPop land, so here goes…
I want to start by wishing you a Happy New Year and I hope that you had a safe and happy holiday season with your loved ones. Over the break, I spent time reflecting as we often do at the end of each year. I (like all of you) experienced the most difficult and painful ten months of my life. People have lost friends, family members, jobs and more. We had to part ways with colleagues within our organization and say goodbye to beloved events. We miss running live events for you terribly. Our work is nothing compared to life-saving efforts undertaken by essential workers every day, but we pressed on behind screens, doing our best to bring you at least a few pieces of joy from our physical events.
We’ve been challenged from every direction to think differently about what we do and have gained new perspectives and understanding on how to best serve this community of wonderful geeks we love so much. So what are we going to do about it?
Look for five things from us in 2021:
We run some of the best websites and YouTube channels in the world, you should check them out! Rock Paper Shotgun, Digital Foundry, Dicebreaker, Outside Xbox, Cosplay Central, Eurogamer, GamesIndustry.biz and VG24/7 are all ReedPop sites that had record engagement throughout 2020. These sites are guided by some of the most well respected writers, editors, technologists, designers and video personalities in the gaming universe.
Focused and meaningful virtual events! In the first half of the year we’re planning a bunch of cool, tiny virtual happenings from celebrity Meet and Greets to Esports tournaments. It turns out big virtual events aren’t as awesome as real life big events, so instead we’re going to give you lots of curated things to chew on.
We’ve got a bunch of new stuff to show you! Exclusive Merch. Subscription packages to our events and websites. A marketplace connecting you with the creators you love.
Live events again! For information on the 2021 events we have announced to date, click here. As always, we’ll make “the next right decision” as the year progresses. We’ll run events when it is safe to do so and with all the protocols you expect from the world’s leading event producer. We ask for your understanding that things may change. We promise to be clear and communicative about new procedures and requirements and most importantly, that we’ll not host an event if it is not safe to do so.
No more event sellouts! Once we do get back to live events, we’ll have an awesome virtual component that will bring you access to great content, exclusives and the Con community both on and offline. That means if you can’t get a ticket to an event, you can still be there in a real and meaningful way.
Lastly, I feel it is critical to give space to some of the other issues brought to the global forefront this year aside from COVID-19. The historical tragedies have shone a light on systemic inequality amongst marginalized groups and the ugliness and disparity that exists within our society. Whether online or in-person, we remain dedicated to delivering content and experiences that reflect the beautifully diverse communities we serve and to build safe spaces for every single one of you.
2020 was brutal. 2021 is going to be challenging too, however, we’re jumping into it by working hard to build awesomeness for you! At ReedPop we’ve never stopped thinking of you and we’re more excited than ever to bring you all the pop culture goodness you crave in every way we can possibly imagine.
Stay in touch, let me know how you’re doing, what you need and if we can help.
Stay nerdy!
Lance Fensterman
President, ReedPop

sdconventionctr Events are returning to San Diego! 🌞🌴 The first group scheduled to meet here when we reopen for events this August is @Spiephotonics—a group that has been meeting at the San Diego Convention Center for 30 years! We’re excited to welcome back these leaders in light-based science and technologies as we return to our primary role as an economic driver for our region.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CO0kYh3jGYF/My wife has been going to the Convention Center a few times to assist with the education of the children there, and she's talked about how odd it is to not see convention stuff there and to see it used for such a formal occasion (with guards and military personnel and whatnot)! While I'm glad our city is helping care for children, I'll be glad when the convention center is back to hosting conventions again! I've probably paid MORE attention to what's going on there the last 12 months than any other time/span since living in San Diego! :P
I've been in the Hollywood Bowl ticket purchase queue for 27 minutes and I'm currently 381st in line. Is it weird that I missed this? ;) :DHa!
@perc2100 (https://www.friendsofcc.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=380) We like the films-in-concert where they show the movie and the LA Phil plays the score live. We've seen all the Harry Potters so far that way so we're excited that the pandemic didn't break our streak! I'm also looking at Black Panther in Concert and The Princess Bride in Concert because I love both of those films.I bet the BLACK PANTHER event will be a good one: there is some outstanding music score in that film (of course, as a percussionist I'm biased a bit as there is some off-the-hook great African percussion stuff throughout the score).
I went to the John Williams night a couple of years ago. It was good, of course, and it's fun when people wave lightsabers during the Star Wars themes, but it's not something I feel I need to go to every time it comes up.
I love the Hollywood Bowl, such an awesome place for concerts. A few years ago I went for Danny Elfman and the original voices of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, it was magical.Did you get Tix for this year? Different place this year
Did you get Tix for this year? Different place this yearNo I haven’t, I’m taking a wait and see approach to this year, lol. Kind of want to see what happens during this flu season and whether or not we need booster shots. I’m pretty sure everything will be fine and back to normal but after getting closed down last year and being deployed to open up a new unit, then working 12 hr shifts and every other weekend, I’m a little gun shy to do too much advance planning.

I did end up buying... got a group of 15 people together for HP 6. :)Yeah my mindset RADICALLY changed in early April once I was fully vaccinated. I still haven't been to a movie theater yet, but that's mainly because no must-see movies have been released for me in theaters that I haven't already seen/gotten a screener for/could see via streaming (I thought A QUIET PLACE 2 would be _The One_ but I got a screener for that one and I was pretty bummed out and didn't want to pay money for a theater). But I'm with you: I want to go to all the concerts and all the baseball games and A LOT of summer movies! :P
Fingers crossed everything stays good, but now that I'm vaccinated I want to do everything.

I'm going to the movies next Friday for the first time in over 2 years (yeah, even pre-Covid I wasn't big on it. My last movie was Endgame)! My theatre is still blocking off seats even though the state no longer requires it. That could change by Friday but so far only 4 people have bought tickets, so I'll probably be okay.
Anyway, I'm seeing In The Heights, which was supposed to come out last summer and which I've been looking forward to for a long time. It will be on HBO as well, but this is one I need to see on the big screen (but I'll probably watch it a few times on HBO after)
But the thing I'm most excited for is the return of Broadway - my favorite Broadway show is Come From Away, which is a beautiful show based on the true story of a small town in Canada taking in stranded airplane passengers on 9/11. I've seen it 4 times. And I was able to get 4th row tickets for the re-opening performance in September. I have to fly to NYC one day and back home the next, but it will be totally and completely worth it to be present for what will surely be an unforgettable performance. I'm going to cry for the whole thing (It's a show that already makes me cry so I'm in big trouble), and if masks are required I will have to bring extras. I can't wait.
We've been to a handful of movies in the theatre since we were vaccinated, so happy to have movie popcorn again! For In the Heights next Friday I've rented a theatre for $149 -- my group of friends who go to NYC each year is going, 7 of us, plus a couple of our kids and other friends. Can't wait! And we already have our tickets for Come From Away for our December trip, so glad to hear a great review! Also tickets for Six. It feels good to be starting the process of getting back to normal!
I can't get used to these quiet July days with no intensive planning. Fingers crossed this is the last one we have to endure!
So depressing on what should be the day before Comic-Con to come here and it's totally dead except for a couple of spam posts (already removed, thanks mods!). Missing all of you this week!

I think I might go down to the convention center and walk around and pretend that they just haven't set up yet.

I think I might go down to the convention center and walk around and pretend that they just haven't set up yet.I went downtown this past Sunday to go to a symphony performance at the new Shell. We parked in the Hilton Bayfront and walked over and I gotta tell ya: it was fairly depressing. Last summer, when we were fairly 'locked down,' it didn't hit me as hard as it did this year. Seeing the "sights" on the walk from the Bayfront garage to the Embarcadero: where the Hall H tents should be; where the signage should be up on the hotels & Petco Park (which was oddly lit w/the Padres out of town); where the Indigo Ballroom line would be; where the FX outdoor pavilion would be; where the [adult swim] pavilion would be; where the old Hall H 'next day' line would be; the outdoor bathrooms across from the marina which are indeed still fairly disgusting; the pedicabs speeding by (some blasting music, some not); where the 2019 Hall H line was (note: most of the trees were removed so there will not be a ton of natural shade for Comic-Con lines in the future); the Embarcadero where the line would wrap around (yes: Joe's Crab Shack is still around!). For someone who's spent every mid-July from 2000-2019 at Comic-Con, it was rather depressing seeing nothing there :-[

That's so sad. I just had a thought. People could still do that impromptu parade of cosplay out in front of the convention center that happens at the end of the day. Particularly at the steps. Just pick an afternoon and do it. At some CCM events, there would be a fair number of people in cosplay with the accompanying posing and photo taking.I'll be right there for this!!

Joining in the sadness! All of my FB memories have been SDCC related for the past like week and a half.I know, salt in the wound.

One of my favorite comic stories is I've stopped somewhere on the floor to look at my phone or whatever and I've literally had people start lining up behind me. It's hilarious. Happened 3-4 times over the years.ha; that's happened to me too over the years - often with, after a few awkward moments of silence, questions of "what are we waiting for" or "what are we looking at?!"

Did anyone else spend all day yesterday playing the Google Doodle, or was that just me?No, but I did spend all day playing with the San Diego Comic-Con News Generator and got such great headlines as
"The animatronic Amy ape from Congo to Stan loon in a hey dude revival, revealed with this one-second clip"and
"18 TikTok influencers in a trenchant will explain the true origins of 'snoochie boochies' in a $300 million clay fighter epic";D ;D

TOO MUCH HAPPENING ALL AT ONCEIt is odd how excited I am about SDCC SE badge sales tomorrow. Even though I logically know this will be a small Con, and that securing badges _probably_ won't be as stressful as SDCCI (note: as a Pro it shouldn't really be that stressful for me at all). But I'm still hyped for that invigorating rush of logging in/waiting to be a "chosen cheerio"/securing badges for the fam & friends. I haven't gone through this rush/"thrill of the hunt" since late summer/early fall 2019 and I'm legit excited to get back into this brand of crazy again!!

https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/tiger-woods-daughter-shares-incredible-fact-golf-world-reacts
On the surface, Tiger Woods has always been as cool as can be. However, the golf legend is sometimes just like the rest of us. On Wednesday night, Tiger’s 14-year-old daughter, Alexis, shared a jaw-dropping fact about her dad.
“He goes to Comic Con dressed as Batman,” she said during her speech.
Wait a second. Seriously? We’re going to need some proof eventually, because this is incredible. Something tells us Tiger would make a great Batman.
“@TigerWoods can you do us a solid and at least let us know the year you went to Comic Con dressed as Batman…just trying to save ppl hours and hours of mindlessly searching past comic con pictures. 😂,” a fan tweeted.
Survived WC, very early line ups for Funko, but had a blast seeing my con family, going to panels, getting autographs, oh, and shopping lol. Now can’t wait to see everyone again and experience it on a larger scale. Truthfully it was nice to experience it on a smaller scale before the BIG ONE in JulyI luckily didn't want the most popular Funko products, as I was able to jump into the line early/mid-afternoon Saturday & got the Pops I wanted. I heard the morning lineups for Funko weren't too bad, though I heard those after the She-ra/backback thing were lined up reeeeeeaaallly early Saturday.

That actually looks interesting, but a couple things come to mind:- being on the bottom and having your face inches away from the above's butt = not a great coast-to-coast flying experience IMO
- Do the upper seats mean you need to scrunch down to get into them because of the height? That sould just really suck
- The seat looks like it actually reclines to let you stretch your legs out, and then bring it back upright to get in/out
- How much space are you actually saving to do this? If this increases capacity, it'll increase fuel, cost, blah blah
- Can you imagine if you were in the upper seats and spilled your drink, and then it now goes to the peeps below? >:(
Looks like it's impossible to use a laptop in those. And no overhead bins either. And on the lower seats at least it looks like there is also no under-seat storage. There's, like, nothing good about that lower seat IMO: like, I dunno if an airline could pay ME enough to sit in one of those for a long flight

On a cross county overnight flight, not sitting up would be really good. <<<----- only situation!

"having your face inches away from the above's butt" I was thinking the same thing too! What if someone was gassy that day?then you will get pink eye lol
Yesterday, John Cena was signing bottles of wine at a local supermarket here in San Diego. It was a good opportunity to get an autograph and a selfie if you didn't get an opportunity at a con.

We went ahead and ordered the whole meal from Boston Market. Was it the best meal we've ever had? No. But it was pretty good, and absolutely worth it to not have to have anyone cook it.No cooking + minimal dishes afterwards = always an awesome thing!

I am wincing as I imagine your hotel bill as you wait for July... :o
But right now there is no line at all for Hall H.
So... you're paying your HBF bill as you wait on the lawn for hall H? Sounds about right for SDCC.... ;)Is there another way?

So I'm now looking for other things to do in San Diego during Comic-Con, has anyone done the Whaley House Paranormal Investigation tour in Old Town? It seems like a lot of money to me, but my son wants to do it.
