Speaking of Margaery Tyrell, I'll mention that it literally JUST dawned on me about 3 hours ago that I still need to have my Cersei cosplay dry cleaned, and I need to purchase my make-up and prosthetics for Stoneheart. So this thread probably just saved me a world of future stress  :D

Hmm...maybe it will be more flattering in the episode on Sunday? It is quite conservative compared to her other dresses...

So now that you've seen the episode, what did you think?

I actually kind of liked it, especially with the crown! Plus, there's so much symbolism behind it now that

I repeat: dang, that is an ugly dress. But it has its good points as a cosplay: it's an easy pattern, it's fairly distinctive/recognizable, and it has accessories (the crown and pendant). I spent 3 hours this weekend looking for a muted teal matelasse fabric with no luck, so I'm off to the LA Fabric district on Friday...

My make-up and prosthetics for Stoneheart are coming this week, so I should be mostly set on that one! I just need to cut my lace front wig and do a test run before con  8)

I had previously been planning on doing a TWD Maggie Greene costume, but I've decided to save her for NYCC.

So now, the only other thing I have left is to get my Cersei dress dry cleaned. Do you guys have any tips on what to look for in a dry cleaner? I've done Google searches for dry cleaners in my area because most of my clothing has always been machine washable, but I can't really find any reviews. It's super annoying  :(

Ah, thanks for the reminder, I need to trim the lace front on my new Margaery wig.

I also fell in love with a new character from Penny Dreadful this week and am wondering if I have time to squeeze in one more cosplay...

As for dry cleaners, no, it's really hit or miss unless you have personal recommendations. What material is your dress? Maybe look for a place that also says it does wedding gowns?

Ahh, thanks for the suggestion - that's a good point! When I had my dress commissioned, I chose to have it made from a synthetic fabric because I tend to sweat a lot in the heat and didn't want to ruin silk. But it also has all of the little details appliquéd on as opposed to being embroidered, so it's probably better to look at places that can deal with delicate items like wedding gowns.

I think I will post to Facebook and see what I can find regarding recommendations in my area!

I'm so bad at getting stuff dry cleaned. I hate going, and then it's always so expensive.

Luckily I am also bad at re-wearing costumes, so most of them never get very dirty. I air them out and spot-clean, mostly.

I've been working on a Lex Luthor Power Armor since around Feb/March.  I'm in the paint stage now - converted the whole garage into a paint booth.  Going to be cutting it close!

Yeah, I'm always cutting it close. Speaking of which I really need to cut out the pieces for my Margaery dress...

I'm totally behind. But I have the base. So there's that :P
What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?
