Good advice. The best San Diego has on one on CL right now is $250. There's one in Culver City for $100, too bad that's a bit far.

Looking at one though, I don't think I have space for something like that. I need something vertical I think.

I'm up to about 20 now and none of them in frames yet. I was able to get 3 of the Guardians prints last year at SDCC. That was an awesome feeling and I really enjoyed talking to the other collectors while waiting for the drop. Way more fun then trying for the Funko line

ok

with an eye to forming a FoCC mondo group, what is the best way of communicating during the con?

i would suggest a group text as communication is hard during con.  the only other option that might be reliable is a group tweet but I'm not sure of the reliability of that.

thoughts?

Mondo tweets out when they put new prints on sale all weekend.
Of course sometimes if you wait for the tweet its already too late (last year's Stout GotG.)

They stopped tweeting 2 years ago to avoid madness. They now just have a daily schedule of releases. Many of them you don't get to actually see until they go on sale though.

The tweeted them all last year:

and about 20 others ones to, but no need to post a link to each tweet.
And there was no pre-announced schedule, though that would be very nice to have!

Mondo seems to be addictive.
Getting the prints when they go on sale seems to be as ulcer inducing as SDCC tickets.
This is why they gave out stress balls at Mondo Con with F5 printed on them! LOL!
I don't have any of the Mondo prints yet, unless you count the Scott Pilgrim print I got at Mondo Con (printed at the con, and signed!). I mostly got interested last year because they are starting to do toys. And because they are local.

Hmmm, wonder why they changed back. I didn't go for any last year, it was too GotG-centric. The previous year though I got many. That year the specifically changed their policy and said they were doing it to avoid milling around and mad rushes the tweeting method caused. It was nice. Each day they just tweeted a schedule and they would tweet reminders and at on-sale times, but you knew what the on-sale times were if you read the daily schedule.

They were pretty easy to grab last year with the exception of the Tyler Stout Guardians variant - now that was a MESS!!! Basically the line was capped about 5 min after opening the doors on Sunday!

i haven't tried for mondo's at sdcc but will this year.

in general when they tweet and/or notify folks, do they send out a pic of the poster?  the reason i ask is because i'm real visual abt the posters- regardless of the topic.  I'd hate to wait in line & then find out i hate the poster lol

Looking it up, it looks like last year they announced what would be sold each day, but I guess not when. I'm guessing that Tyler Stout was so popular because it was the only one released on Sunday and the only one with all characters?  The lineup was kinda weak last year, imo. At any point last year did they open "the vault"  and start selling older prints? They did in 2013 and I was able to get wreck it ralph and zero dark thirty.

Here's 2014:

Looks like last year they posted images of them all and what days, see my link above. Previous year they posted a schedule of releases but no images. You could walk by the booth and see it though before you decided to line up.

They would tweet out first thing in the morning or the night before with the pictures.  I remember heading over to Mondo first thing each morning and knowing what the poster looked like by the time I made it back to their end of the exhibitor's hall.  They haven't done the whole 'vault' thing in the past two years which is pretty disappointing, but I can't complain too much - I still love me some Mondo posters!

Facebook group? Idk about other people but my twitter gets blown up from all the tweets and notifications about con and it'll just get lost in the madness.
