Just to point out that last year the San Jose Mayor was a guest. He was on a panel about 'cities of he future', specifically transportation nd other issues. They are hosting a similar panel this year, so I'm guessing that's where the city council member steps in.

I remember, and that was also a stretch...but at least the Mayor is slightly more recognizable/official (i.e. having the Mayor present at the opening ceremony of an event is a respected tradition.)
Yes, they had the Mayor (not Sam Loccardo... the one before that) at the opening of the first SVCC, for a special 'ribbon cutting' ceremony.I suspect that the mayor was just too busy this year and the councilman is stepping in. I went to that 'cities of the future' panel last year and it was actually really interesting, talking about a lot of the urban planning issues that plague San Jose, and the Bay Area in general. We realized on Monday that Luke Gygax was going to be at this con. That's exciting for gamers like us! I am looking forward to 'Tomb of Horrors in 90 minutes'. Anyone else find any 'panel gems' posted in the last couple of days?
Any parking tips since i'm destined to arrive around 10 ish or is there still plenty of parking?
There should still be parking, but just in case, you can try this site. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
