Please use this thread to discuss Pro Registration for SDCC 2019
https://www.comic-con.org/cci/professionals
Comic-Con 2019 Professional Application Period
The Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim 2019 professional application period is now OPEN! To apply as a professional for Comic-Con 2019, please download the “Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim 2019 Information and Application for Professionals” PDF below. All applications and verification materials are due by August 16, 2018.
Also note:
NEW for Comic-Con & WonderCon Anaheim 2019
Due to the ever-increasing popularity of both Comic-Con and the industries that serve the popular arts, we have updated the requirements and categories for professional badge registration. Beginning after Comic-Con 2018, the categories of “creative professional” and “trade professional” will be dissolved, and all members who meet the qualifications and are approved are simply considered “professionals.” All professional badges are granted the same level of access during the event. Please see below for new information regarding the qualifications for professionals.
-
Bumping this one. Don't forget!
All applications and verification materials are due by August 16, 2018.
-
https://www.comic-con.org/cci/professional-faq Member ID Notices also updated on August 17, 2018
Comic-Con 2019 Professional Application Period
The Comic-Con 2019 professional application period is now closed. All applications and verification materials were due by August 16, 2018 for Comic-Con 2019. Applications submitted after this date will be considered for WonderCon Anaheim 2019 and Comic-Con 2020. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for applications to be processed. If you have been approved as a professional for Comic-Con 2019, or if your professional verification status is NOT DUE, you will receive information regarding online professional badge registration as it becomes available.
What if I missed the August 16, 2018 professional application deadline for Comic-Con 2019? What can I do?
Because of the high volume of applicants, applications and materials submitted after the deadline will not be accepted for Comic-Con 2019 under any circumstances. If your application is received after August 16, 2018, it will be reviewed for WonderCon Anaheim 2019 and Comic-Con 2020.

There's no indication if the number of Pro badges to be issued will increase in quantity. But bringing the two categories of Pro together will most likely mean that entertainment pros outside of direct comics involvement will see a reduction in the number of acceptances.
COMIC-CON AND WONDERCON ANAHEIM are pleased to provide complimentary badges to professionals who are active in the creation of comic books, graphic novels, digital/webcomics, comic strips and animation, as well as genre-related illustrators and science fiction/fantasy authors and book editors. This includes roles such as: writer, artist, penciller, inker, colorist, letterer, and animator. Qualifying work must be provided to indicate a professional’s involvement in these projects.
We cannot guarantee professional badges to those who fall outside of the categories listed above. However, all other professionals and executives who are employed in entertainment & popular culture fields (film, television, toy & apparel design, and other related industries) are welcome to apply during our next application period, and we will consider each application on an individual basis.
Have always gotten a Pro badge via my videogame credentials. Curious to see if those meet the requirements for next year.

I feel like this may effect me. I have my publishing company so i register as a publisher, but i am also an author and i have another author, whose work i'm publishing, who does graphic novels & writes books in sci-fi/fantasy/crime/horror. I use SDCC to network! ugh... this....ugh... this could effect me! :(

To update, got confirmation of returning Pro status today via email.
Very happy about that.

Congrats, EscoBlades! When did you submit your materials?
I'm hoping to receive similar good news. Applied as Pro for first time as an Educator.

Thanks. I submitted my materials on the 9th of July. Received confirmation of Pro status on the 17th of September. I saw some folks on Twitter had got their's the week before, so I was definitely not in the first wave, if that helps.
-
Just received my confirmation/approval today. Submitted my application on July 11.

Congrats!

Guys, just clarifying - you received your confirmation that you are approved, not the actual ability to register, correct ? I was approved last year for the first time and says I do not need to verify - so now I simply wait for the actual reg invitation, correct ?
-
So does any know if they're still sending out pro-registration renewal confirmations for verifications emails?
I had to renew this year, I was late in sending in my information but i made the deadline... i'm on pins & needles. If i don't get approved, then i dunno.. i guess that free me up to attend my brother's wedding... <_< but just want to know what's going on.. am i approved.. or not..
and yes.. i am weighing missing my brother's wedding for comic-con... i'm literally negotiating, "well.. the wedding's sunday... so.. if i come back on saturday, i should be good...right?"
O:)

Yes, the emails going out now, are confirmation that we have been approved for Pro status
-
I received my confirmation/approval e-mail today.
-
when did you put in your application?
-
when did you put in your application?
I don't know the exact date, but it was late July (I printed things out for submission at my hotel in San Diego).
-
Cool! Thanks.
i put mine in close to the due date... so this means i may have to wait a few more days or weeks.. or maybe i didn't get approved this year at all.... *sigh*

Did anyone applying as an Educator get Pro confirmation yet? I'm anxiously awaiting approval for my app submitted early August. Would be so nice and good for my almost non-existent bank account to not have to deal with the madness of buying my tix for Comic Con. :-X

Yes, I applied as an educator (I'm an art teacher) and got my confirmation e-mail. I applied late July.

Nope. :( I’ll try tomorrow. If it’s the worst case scenario that I don’t get tickets -and- I don’t get pro status, I’ll volunteer (I’m on the pre-approved voluneer list).
-
Good luck tomorrow !

Those of you being approved this year, mind sharing what you do/applied as? I am curious to see how strict they are being with most Pros working in comics now. Selfish reasons, I am a Pro in television, but was approved last year so I am good for another 2, just wanna feel out my chances in 2021 LOL

Looks like they sent out another round yesterday, me and my bro got approved! I snail mailed my application in early August.
-
Just got my “pro status approved” email! I emailed my app (Educator) 8/5. Got a friend who submitted after me, but received his approved email last week. Was fearing the worst for a while. PHEWWW.
On to the next part, what’s pro registration like? Same as regular registration, but with far less people, and less tickets available? Any Pros not able to get through registration process because badges have run out?

Yes, I also need answers to these questions.

Here's the email I got last year. Not sure what might change. Totally non-stressful to get a badge. Guest badges can add a little stress, especially the complimentary ones which run out fast.
Comic-Con 2018 creative professional badge registration will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Wednesday, October 11, 2017!
All “NOT DUE” creative professionals are guaranteed a badge for Comic-Con 2018, but you must register online during the professional registration period. There are two options to register.
If you do not intend to register for a complimentary guest of professional badge, you do not need to participate in the Expo Logic waiting room process. You may wait until 11:05 AM PDT on October 11, 2017 to register. At 11:05 AM PDT visit http://www.comic-con.org/cci/professional-registration-info and you will find a direct link to the professional badge registration system.
The professional online registration system will close on April 12, 2018, so please be sure to register before that date. Your Comic-Con 2018 professional badge is guaranteed until April 12. There will be no onsite registration.
If you wish to register for a limited complimentary guest of professional badge, you must enter the Expo Logic waiting room prior to 10:00 AM PDT on October 11, 2017. To access the waiting room, click the waiting room link below and enter your professional access code. The waiting room will open for access code entry at 9:00 AM PDT on October 11, 2017. You must enter the waiting room prior to 10:00 AM PDT. All professionals in the Expo Logic waiting room prior to 10:00 AM PDT will be randomly selected for a registration session. Admittance to the waiting room does not guarantee a guest badge.
As a reminder, all guests of professionals, paid or complimentary, will require a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. Member IDs are free and you only need to register once! To sign up for a Member ID, please visit: https://secure2.comic-con.org/memberid/
To register a guest or purchase a guest badge, you must have their Member ID and last name. You will not be able to add a guest’s Member ID at a later date. You must enter their information during the online registration process.
-
It looks like they are running late this year - I hope pro-reg is before Open Reg like last year so that those that can't get Pro or Pro guest badges can still try for Open Reg.
-
This is the first year they've combined Trade & Creative, which may impact the sale date for this round.
It does seem like they have been doing a lot of "Open Registration" and Member ID reminders lately, so it could be that Open Reg is next on the calendar.

Comic-Con 2019 professional badge registration will not have a waiting room! Instead, all professionals will receive guaranteed individual allotments and pricing for their badge and guest badge(s). For your convenience, we will send you a notification to the email address associated with your Comic-Con Member ID account when registration opens. Your personal allotment of guest badges will be guaranteed for the duration of badge registration, and will not be on a first-come, first-served basis! Please note that you must register before Comic-Con 2019 professional badge registration closes on May 6, 2019.
TO REGISTER FOR COMIC-CON 2019 PROFESSIONAL BADGES WHEN REGISTRATION OPENS, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
• All professional guests (paid or complimentary) must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. You will not be able to register a guest without entering their Member ID.
• To register a guest, you will need their Member ID, first, and last name. You do not need their Member ID password.
• Log in to your Member ID account and select the “Professionals” tab to find your personal allotment, registration code, and direct link to online registration.
• Click the direct link in your Member ID account to visit badge registration. You will need your LAST NAME, registration code, and Member ID to log in. You do not need your password. You will also need the last name and Member ID for all guests you wish to register.
• You will be directed to select between two options: “I am registering only myself” or “I am registering myself and my guest(s)”.
• If you choose to register guests, you will need to enter their first and last name, and their Member ID before selecting the “validate” button.
• If you choose to only register yourself at this time, you may return at a later time within the registration period to add your guests. Please note that you must register before registration closes on May 6, 2019.
• Once guest Member IDs are validated, you will need to enter your payment information.
• As the costs of badge production have risen, each paid order will now be subject to a $7.50 handling fee. This will be added regardless of the number of badges in your order, and regardless of the final total at checkout.
• Children age 12 and under are free with a professional badge and do not count toward your guest limit. Child badges must be registered onsite.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION CODES:
You will need your unique professional registration code to enter the badge registration system. Your registration code can be found on the "Professionals" tab in your Comic-Con Member ID account when registration opens. Remember, there is no need to rush when you receive your email! Eligible professionals can register for badges at any time during the registration period. Comic-Con 2019 professional badge registration closes on May 6, 2019.
Do not share your professional registration code! Your registration code belongs to you, and will authorize one browser and one device only.
IMPORTANT BROWSER SETTINGS:
The online badge registration system has been tested on the following browsers. We cannot guarantee your results should you use a browser not listed below:
Firefox: Any Version
Edge: Any Version
Google Chrome: Any Version
Internet Explorer: Version 11 or later
Safari: Version 7 or later
MOBILE DEVICES:
The registration system is not formatted for iPads, tablets, or mobile devices. Although mobile devices have been tested and can be used to register for a badge during professional registration, Comic-Con International is unable to guarantee that the registration system will behave as expected using a mobile device.
THE FINE PRINT:
While Comic-Con International has made every effort to make the badge registration experience easy for everyone, it is possible that problems outside of our control could result in the system not working as planned. The possibility exists that anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware software may aggressively block browser cookies, JavaScript, or other operations of modern web applications. It is also possible that user error, specific hardware problems, local ISP issues, or simply the extremely high level of demand beyond our control may result in your computer and/or browser not behaving as described above. While Comic-Con International has done extensive testing, we make no guarantees that your efforts will result in a successful badge registration regardless of when you enter the process. Please contact [email protected] if you experience any issues.
-
Wow, interesting change for guest badge process!
-
So, if I read that correctly, it sounds like complimentary badges are randomly assigned to pros prior to registration. If you're lucky enough, you're guaranteed your allotment no matter when you sign in and register. It is an interesting change.
-
It is an interesting change.
And a welcome one too
-
I really hope this is done before Open Reg in case Guest Badges run out!
-
I like this part: If you choose to only register yourself at this time, you may return at a later time within the registration period to add your guests. Please note that you must register before registration closes on May 6, 2019.
-
So, I feel better about getting a pro badge now.
-
BIG question remains: what does "individual allotment" mean?
Who gets a free pro-badge? Who gets a free guest badge? Who gets a paid guest badge? Are these randomly assigned -or- tied to type of professional. I know that they combined some pro categories. Wondering if Educator Professionals have different benefits than other pros.
Happy to have joined the ranks of Pro this year! Wondering where it will lead me in regards to Comic Con registrations.

No one knows yet. This "individual allotment" is all brand new for this year.

hi! I sent my verification materials the very last day, and I just got my professional status approval email :3 I must have been the very last one for sure

-
It's very non-ideal that they haven't disclosed whether or not professional's can get their guest badges when general registration is coming up.
Do the intended guests just try for general reg as a safety blanket?
-
Was hoping pro info would be out prior to Open Reg. I have people asking and I really have no answer other than they should all be online 11/10.
Hoping maybe we get info before the sale since so much of the new system is up in the air.
-
I wish open reg would be after Pro-Reg - Should I try for Open reg and maybe only get one day or hope that the Pro-Reg Guest Pass allotment comes through with a guaranteed 4day + Preview nite.
I am just worried that if I go with Open Reg and only get one day that I will be locked out of trying to get a Guest Pro Badge.
I sent this question to Comic-con via their contact form - waiting for a response:
Hello - Will Pro-Guest Badge allocations be provided before Open Reg? It would be great to know to determine whether some may not need to go through Open Reg and risk only getting one or two days that may be able to get an all-days badge through Pro Reg as a guest. If someone does go through open reg and go just one or two days but later finds out if they would be able to get a Pro Guest badge instead would they be shut out of getting the Pro Guest Badge because they already purchased a badge through open registration? Thanks for any info you can provide.
-
My boyfriend got his professional application approved a few days ago. I have not received mine yet. I was wondering if they send out rejection emails or don't email you at all if you haven't been approved.
Or do they send the approval emails out in batches and mine is still being reviewed?
-
Unless something has changed, I'm pretty sure they send out a rejection letter. My brother got one of those a couple of years ago.

Yep they do send out approval letters in waves, and they also send out rejection letters (at least they have in the past).

It’s not looking like pro registration is gonna happen before open this year is it.

It would be nice if they would announce Pro Guest Badge allocations before Open Reg - but I don't think that will happen, but here's hoping.

Yeah. That’s what I was hoping for. Not counting on it though.

This is what their refunds policy says:
"If you use your Member ID to purchase a badge for a day for which you previously purchased a badge, the original badge you purchased will automatically be canceled and the amount paid will be refunded, less the 10% processing fee, without contacting you.
For example, if you purchased a Friday and Saturday badge during online attendee registration and you use your Member ID to register as a professional and/or press with Preview Night at a later date, the Friday and Saturday badge you purchased during attendee registration will be canceled and refunded, less the 10% processing fee. "
So I'm guessing (hoping) you'll probably lose that 10% processing fee but get your pro guest badge. Or maybe I'm being too optimistic.
-
Thanks - This helps!

Do they include the Guest Badge Allocations?
-
if you guys get into the professional tab of MemberID you can see your allocations :) haven't received my email either but that's already there!
-
I registered as a Pro--the first time! And I could register 2 guests that I have to pay for. It is so great to have that cleared up before Open Registration.
-
Yup. Got my email this morning. I can get two paid badges as well.
-
Got the email, too. Same as other folks: my complimentary badge and 2 paid guests.
Questions as a first-year Pro:
Child Badges: Is there a limit for under-12 badges per Prof badge? Regular policy is 2 per PAID reg and 1 per Volunteer badge.
Open Reg: are we able to try/buy badges during Open Reg for friends/family as well as our 2 per Professional allotment? Or are we limited to just our Pro allotment?
-
It looks like the guest badges are all paid ones.
-
Got my registration email this morning. 2 guests (1 free/1 paid).
-
Got one comp and one paid allocation
-
I got my e-mail. I got 2 guests (both paid). I'm not worrying about guests having to pay. I'm just happy this phase is OVER!
-
Steve, I received your PM and responded.
Scott
-
Hi all, want to be guaranteed a badge? I have an opportunity to get a guest badge if someone wants it. There's a caveat though which we can discuss. Send me a PM and we can discuss if interested.
Scott
given the fact you've been around for a while, i'm going to assume that 'caveat' is not selling or otherwise gaming the system.
-
Alyssa, that is correct, but I also need help paying for my badge which I will discuss with interested parties.
Wait a min- you're asking for help paying your badge? that's a technicality- you **are** asking for more money then the actual pro guest badge cost- that is not cool
when u said 'caveat', i assumed help of a trade nature NOT a profit of the sale- you can't parse words like that here. please remove your post or i will.
-
Understood. I removed as requested and I apologize, I didn't mean to circumvent the rules.
-
Hi Everyone - If anyone has an extra guest badge allocation, it would really help my family out.
We only got a single guest badge allocation on our Pro Reg - and it's supposed to be myself, my wife, and my daughter going together.
So, if you've been allocated a guest badge that you won't be using, please send me a PM.
Thanks so much,
Steve
-
Are Pro-reg code and registration links working? Has anyone claimed their Pro Badge and purchased their Guest Badges yet?
-
My link/code worked. Claimed my pro-reg, but not my paid guest badges yet.
Since my allotment is for paid guests, I’ll try to get badges for my friends during Open Reg, so they get the benefit of the earlier previous-year-paid-attendee sale next year for 2020. I’ve heard paid guests of pros are not eligible for that sale. If we can’t get full badges during Open Reg, I’ll use my guest allotment for them after Open Reg.
-
Should I be concerned? My pro badge, I have to pay for. I renewed as a creative pro, not trade pro. Should I email them? And I only got 1 paid guest badge. I'm happy this is over but they had my account a's I guess a regular, for open registration, before I guess finally rapproving my status as pro.

You should have waited to register yourself. According to Faq, you can't go back and add.
"Yes! All professional guests are required to have their own confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. You must enter your guests' Member ID during online registration. You will not have the opportunity to go back in and enter it at a later date. Make sure all of your guests sign up for their own Member ID before attempting to register them."
-
You should have waited to register yourself. According to Faq, you can't go back and add.
You can go back and add guests later, per the FAQ...
• If you choose not to register guests, you may return to the registration site at a later date to add your guests. However, you must register all badges before registration closes on May 6, 2019.
https://www.comic-con.org/cci/professional-registration-info, 7th bullet point. I believe what you quoted is in regards to registering a guest without a Member ID
-
Does anyone know once you purchased your pro badge and 1 guest badge, can you still log in and request a 2nd guest badge? I can't log in right now so I can't check and the suspense is killing me haha

Forum Housekeeping:
Merged this new thread into the SDCC 2019 Pro Registration thread (where professional registration questions are housed).
Hopefully you'll get a response a little faster that way because other professionals are probably keeping an eye out on the main professional badge registration thread too!

For anyone keeping count, I received my Pro badge invitation and ability to add 1 paid guest. Since I was Pro last year, I did not need to verify but did have the ability to offer two paid guests last year, so feeling the squeeze. Continued luck in getting the badges and on to Hotel-pocalypse !

Hi,
As you may know, Open Registration was last Saturday and this was one of the most successful sales I’ve witnessed as a part of the FoCC network. One group was able to start cross-buying before Saturday sold out and we thought we were all finished before Thursday and Sunday sold out. Unfortunately, due to oversight Epicaz and I had a new member who preferred to go on Saturday and was okay with any available as long as she got at least one day, but alas ended up with none. By any chance is there someone that is not using both of their guest badges?
I really want to make this member’s dream come true so that she can experience the magic of SDCC for the first time.
- Rory aka Takit0
-
I sincerely hope that I'm not violating any board rules with my ask (if so, please tell me and I'll remove immediately!).
While I am fortunate to have a Pro badge to accommodate myself and my work colleague, I am hoping to find someone available to offer someone who might have the ability to offer 2 badges for purchase at the appropriate cost for a wonderful, generous man and his special needs son. It's been his son's dream to attend SDCC and now he is old enough to enjoy it.
If anyone has any thoughts or ideas around how we might help, please let me know via PM. Best to all for a Happy Holiday !

Anyone else have to wait 5 months to hear back from the professional registration department?
So, I've been an attending professional since 1996, never had an issue getting approved...
This year I mailed my application in like I always do, and waited the six to eight weeks required for verification. Not hearing back on the 9th week, I sent an email inquiring about my application. I recieved an auto-reply, and no one responded. Waiting an additional week again another auto-reply, and no responce. Finally near the beginning of November I got a response, it took a full month to reply to an email! At first they tried to claim I never sent any emails to them or my application after showing proof, they backtracked and said it was lost, and that I will need to scan and email my work to them. Because I sent physical publications to them I was concerned about how those materials would look scanned and sent. The pro reg staff told me to not send my art, and only send the credit pages. This seemed like odd advice, but I followed their instructions and re sent my application via email. Professional registration never confirmed they recieved my materials, and once again stopped answering emails. I waited another three weeks to give them some time. More unanswered emails... finally two weeks in December I get an email at 5pm stating that my application was not diverse enough to be accepted. Yet they were the ones who told me not to send art work only credit pages... I attempted to email them back, and recieved an another auto-reply saying they're out of the office till January 4. Basically they waited till the last minute they were in the office before going on a two week vacation. Talk about passive agressive! In five months of trying to get my application verified the professional registration department only contacted me twice. I'm frankly amazed at how impersonal and unprofessional sdcc has become.
-
Anyone else have to wait 5 months to hear back from the professional registration department?
I just realized that I hadn't received a response back myself and JUST sent them an email. The auto reply said that Pro badge is actually happening now! So far it doesn't look good for me *sigh*
-
Silly Question:
What do you mean, when you say, Pro Badge is happening now?
-
I think "pro badge is actually happening now" meant that pro registration is happening now. Which yes, has been open for a while now. I do' recall the close date so you may have to stay on them about that. Good luck
-
Quick update:
I finally heard back from CCI (5 months later) with an approval. I think they forgot about me lol. ANYWAY, did anyone else have to pay for their pro badge?? I’m not talking about guest badges I’m talking about your own pro badge.
-
Pro registration was all over the place this year. Some pros had to pay for their own badge and some didn't. Some received 2 free guests, while others got 2 paid guests, etc. Not sure that there was any rhyme or reason though.
-
Since I waited five months for the pro reg people to get back to me open registration to purchase badges came and went. So far I've sent a certified letter to Chris Schoenthal, along with my pro application they lost. It's been over 2 months, and I never got the certified letter recipt back. I also lodged a complaint against the pro reg department back in december, and followed it up in early January, and no word from them as well... I've been a verified pro since 1996, and have never had a problem being verified before. I'm amazed at the unprofessional conduct and lack of integrity such a large organisation has.

I have a question - In the Comic-con member ID page, it says that my friend has a confirmed Pro Badge for Wondercon but for Comic-con it says that she is eligible for a free pass and paid guest. However, it doesn't say that she has completed the claim/purchase process as it does with Wondercon. However, we went through the process when it first opened and actually have a confirmed registration receipt for Comic-con and my VISA was charged accordingly when we registered. Does anyone else see this? I just want to make sure we have a valid receipt and barcode, especially since my visa was charged. Thanks for anyone that can respond to this question.
UPDATE: Comic-con was able to answer my question - as long as you have your barcode confirmation, you are set!

Yes!!! I have two badges, paid pro and paid guest! There was some mishandling with my application and they took their last minute time responding! And when they did that's what i got. Feels like last ones in got paid pro.... -_- i appealing next year. I feel like i got put in the trade pro side, even tho there's no "trade or creative pro" anymore..

Does anyone have an additional Guest badge available for another Pro on my team ? This year I received only one guest and I really need two for my crew. Thanks in advance for any help.
-
How does that work, if you have an additional Pro Guest Badge that you aren't using?
Is it based on trust?

Pros are allocated guest badges, but they are not required to use them.

It's definitely based on trust, and personally I wouldn't give it to someone I didn't know. Only because they are a representative of you, and anything done against T&C can get you banned.

i know that. I'm a creative pro.

thanks! i had this same thing in my head every time someone asked me about my own i never really used!
-
Semi OT but if someone registered a guest badge for me should it be linked to my CCI id? And does it count towards pro for the sake of the separate pro exhibit hall entry line? Sorry if I’ve asked before.
-
In the past, no, it didn't have to be linked to a Comic Con ID, but now it does. The guest badge will read as "professional" so you can get the same "perks" as the pro you're a guest of.
eta: You're already marked as the "parent" of those badges, but whomever you're giving the guest badge to has to have it linked to their own member ID.
-
Are there any perks any more though, besides the lounge? I thought I had read that the pro line for the exhibit hall wasn't really a thing anymore.
-
Wait, I’m the guest, so the other guy is the parent, and has to have it linked to my account, correct? He did use my CCID to sign me up but I have no way to confirm I’m hooked up on my profile.
-
Yeah, there will be no indication on the guest's Member ID account that they are registered. It bugs me that it is not anywhere on their account.

Yeah. How or when will we know whether we're good for the exclusive lotteries?

There is a pro line but staff can be bad about directing people to it.

Apologies but that's what I thought I was inferring; where I would pay the applicable fees or if someone would rather I would transfer a room and then the difference of the cost between the room and the badge would be covered, hence no extra compensation would be given. Sorry if that didn't come across accurately.

I have removed the original post. If you’d like to restate your request offering only direct compensation for the cost of the badge feel free to do so. If you have a room to trade or share please head over to the Housing area and do so there. Thanks.

I'm sorry about that, I just figured if you're allowed to offer the cost of a badge for a badge and you're allowed to offer the cost of a room for a room; then you'd also be allowed to offer a room for a badge plus what ever the remaining cost of the room is. I assumed that if it were an equal and fair exchange that it might be allowed. I didn't realize that that would constitute any extra compensation being involved. Sorry again, I meant no disrespect I guess I just missed something. Thanks for your understanding and I'll repost with a proper request.
-
Hi everybody,
Apparently my last request post did violate a rule about extra compensation; I sincerely apologize, that was not my intent. I was under the impression that if the compensation was of equal amounts it wouldn't constitute anything "extra" (I guess I was wrong and I'm sorry). So with that said I'd like to try this one more time if possible -
And I know this is a Hail Mary/fat chance/yeah right/no way in hell/down to the wire/last minute/Nth hour/WTF type of request (and now I believe no longer breaking any forum rules). But, I screwed up and was hoping against hope that someone somewhere might still have an available guest badge they'd be willing to spare. If allowed, I'd be willing to pay whatever the exact fees are associated with it (without any 'extra compensation'). Again, I know this is last minute, but if anyone could do anything I would greatly appreciate it. Please PM me or email me as soon as possible and thanks to anyone who bothered taking the time to even read this and I hope someone out there is still able to help me out.
Thanks,
Nick

Has anyone contacted Pro Reg recently? Sent an email to confirm some info on my badge but haven’t heard back and am starting to freak out, haha. They normally get back to me in a couple hours.
-
Hello everyone. Greetings!
So, I've made a horrible mistake - I thought the badge deadline was May 13th for pros but that was the shipping deadline. I dragged my butt registering, but I already made plans for traveling including expensive international non-refundable tickets.
I e-mailed last week but haven't heard back, has anyone else been in the scenario? I'm completely stressed out of my gourd now, absolutely gutted and incredibly depressed. Has anyone had any experience with hopefully processing a late Pro App last year?

Not to be an old school marm here, but why would you go as far as booking non-refundable travel and not just registering your badge. We were able to register back in November for crying out loud. Or are you saying you were never approved? I'd say if you've not been approved by now, you won't be but stranger things have happened I guess.

I was approved, just needed to confirm my badge.
I have no excuses - life just came at me fast and I had this date marked on my calendar. I booked airfare last year, always stay outside the convention center, so I don't pay too close attention to SDCC traveling news until the summer - and this was marked on my things to do this month.
Ehh, it was a huge mistake and I have no excuses like I said, but I'm hoping someone has had some kind of interaction with CCI about this situation for reference.

My only similar issue was that I emailed them and asked to register a guest for WonderCon after the deadline and they did it for me, but it was WonderCon and it was a guest. I don't know if they are as forgiving or willing to listen when it comes to SDCC.
-
Praying for their mercy and benevolence!
-
I still haven't heard anything back and I'm just hoping for a verification on the address I put.
Wonder if they are swamped or have just shut down the shop for a bit.

[member=122]Brian.A[/member] I reposted here.
Haven’t received notification yet, but did you verify your address @Brian.A before the deadline?
I was under the impression we were getting them shipped as well.
-
The Pro badges usually ship two weeks after regular badges. Brian is either international or has an unverified address.
-
[member=122]Brian.A[/member] by chance, are any of your guests international?
I read that you did get badges last year before an email so your past address should be verified already.
Could you try and have your confirmation resent via the Member ID selecting the “Registration Info” tab, and clicking the yellow “Resend Comic-Con Badge Confirmation” button and compare if any changes to shipping?
-
Did you just recently register or add a guest?

According to CCI, they'll be mailed if it's domestic and the shipping address was verified on time. If you requested that a confirmation be resent, the e-mail will say the badge has to be picked up on-site for some reason. But this is the response I got today about that:
"Thank you for contacting us. Professionals who verified a United States shipping address by the May 13 shipping deadline will receive their badges in the mail. If you did not verify your address, or have an international address, you will need to pick up your badge on-site."

Actually, I never hit the button to resend confirmation and was reading my original confirmation. To investigate this, I checked on my Pro Reg and hit the button to re-send confirmation and that one says they must be picked up. WTF.
I just went into the FAQ and saw this, and it seems it just says this if you asked it to resend your confirmation after May 13th?

Yeah, that's what I did. I couldn't find my conformation so I had it resent. That's why I was so confused.
Not that it's needed now, but I also sent them a message about this. They got back to me last night and told me the same thing.

I clicked on that link and turns out I am blocked by the U Blog's Twitter. LOL. I have done absolutely nothing to warrant that, except a couple of times on this forum criticized the sources of their information. How incredibly unprofessional and petty.

[member=2226]Mel[/member] That is weird! They're a public blog so it seems odd that they would block anyone. But here's the text of the tweet:
For those of you who have been asking - we have confirmed with CCI that press and pros who met the regular badge verification/etc. deadlines WILL have their #SDCC badges ship. The text in the Member ID was an error, and should be corrected now.

Just got mine today. I got my email last Friday and even yesterday the tracking site was showing the badge was in pre-shipping status. And then this morning it suddenly updated to out for delivery.

First-year Pro here.
Anyone know if there is/will be a special entrance for Professionals? If yes, where is this magical entrance? Anything to reduce the maddening crowd we'll face would be helpful.
I've seen posts from years ago, mentioning it (not well-known, many CC security people don't know about it, doesn't grant early access to floor), but haven't seen anything recent.

Usually, there is one on the Mezzanine Level - but in not all security people no about it, and there are no signs or anything. The way you get to it is to go up to the Sails Pavilion like everyone else and then walk into the second floor lobby area (where rooms 6, 7, ab etc... are locatated) towards the area just before the back escalators and ask a security person about the pro line - you are at the mercy of their answer.

Can anyone validate that there are badges yet to be shipped as of today, July 04 ? I received mine about a week ago but my guest has not. If there is some snafu and he does not receive it, is our best approach to contact CCI and indicate it is "lost" and get a replacement ?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Was it a guest badge purchased with your professional badge? If so, that should've have been in the same box with yours.
Both my guest badges were included with my badge when I received it.

Whew! Glad you got it! I was worried with mine since they all stuck together, and I registered my guests really close to the deadline, haha.
When you go, you might be able to try and get your guest a pin at the con when you pick up your bags and lanyards. I'd drop them an e-mail just to double check.
