When Will SDCC 2023 Returning Registration Be Held?

I'm voting Sept 24th because I'll be at Disneyland that day

So if CCI follows the same patterns as the past, they would notify us about 10 days prior to the sale. 
That pretty much eliminates 9/10.
I'm not saying it's going to happen (I voted for 10/15), but if it's 9/17, we would probably hear something today.

Unfortunately I think 12 days ahead was the most we've ever gotten (in the last 8 years or so anyway). It's usually about 10 days.

BITD, before they did the random thing, it was zero notice & quite the free-for-all!  Like, one would just have to know to stalk the website and check in frequently, then then one Saturday am it as live and the rush was on.  I had almost always pre-purchased my badges at the previous year's Con (I would pickup my badge in Sails on PN, then slide right over to a different table and preregister for the next year), but the few times I didn't it felt like the good ol' wild wild west scrambling to get a badge!

Last time they did return reg it was done the week right after NYCC. And that’s what I picked. Oct 15th

Now that Pro Applications are slated to close on Fri. Sept. 30 I think it's safe to at least presume Ret. Reg. won't occur until sometime in October (or later).  In 2019 Pro Application closed a few weeks before Returning Registration, and new applicants weren't notified until a week or so after Returning Registration.  Seems likely either the 15th or 22nd is likely

Returning Volunteers registration starts on 9/27 and ends on 10/11.  We got the email today. That's different from 2019, when it closed AFTER returning registration.  Slightly puzzling.

Sort of...

If you volunteered in 2022, you're guaranteed to be a volunteer in 2023, as long as you register.  It used to be called 'Priority Volunteer Registration'.  Now they're calling it 'Returning Daily Volunteer Registration'.

I got invited to an after-wedding day party and my response was, that I will come if there isn't an SDCC Badge sale that day.  It has begun lol

Also, there is a day before the wedding welcome party, the wedding, and an after-the-wedding party.  It's a lot of parties

That seems to be a trend. I'm going to a wedding on the 1st and it's ceremony, reception, afterparty, and after-afterparty. 

Which is all after the welcome party the night before.

I actually had a friend, who lives in San Diego mind you, who got married Saturday of Comic-Con!  He was somehow shocked that family and friends flying in had trouble finding a hotel downtown (he had it in Coronado somewhere, IIRC), and seemed a little bummed that I skipped it.

For me & Pre-Registration, it's always perilous since it's during marching band season where I have rehearsals every Saturday from 8am-3pm so when announcements for Returning Registration happen I have to plan rehearsals so I'm in one of my band rooms near a computer that morning 

(YES, it's more laid back for me nowadays since I'm a Pro but I go all-in trying to help my lineup group & other friends)
