It looks like we'll see some great NerdHQ panels as well! This could be a great day if someone has a 'gap' in their con tickets.

It's an off-site events center run by the people at Nerd HQ. it is independent of comic con but capitalizes on the event by situating itself a few blocks from the con in the gaslamp area so fans can stop by if they choose.

Take a look at this to see what they did last year.

YES.  Since I didn't get my desired tickets (yet) this is going to be super helpful.  And I don't think tickets are as hard to come by as general tickets, but I did it the first year when nobody really knew what it was, I guess.  I bought them a couple hours after they came out with no problem.  I debated for a while and decided that, yes, $20 was an insanely good price to have a small panel with Jared Padelecki and then I bought them.  Things may have changed last year, though.

Some server issues last year (shocking right??) but from the sounds of it since some forum members attended, they made every effort to make things right for everyone who bought tickets to panels.

I believe tickets were $20.

Edit: That's just for the panels. Just going inside is free.

So they are selling the tickets for the panels online only right? When did that happen in the past 2 years?

Very close to the Con time. IRRC, last year it was after the SDCC programming schedule was released, which is within 2 weeks of the Con.

It was definitely more difficult to get tickets last year than the first year for the more popular panels. I made it into the second Chuck panel, but that was only created because of the server issues. I am not sure if they made second panels for any of the other ones. Following @thenerdmachine on twitter is a great way to keep up. Closer to Con time, put them on digital notification on twitter-that is usually where they announce things first.

All in all, it was an awesome experience. Zach is so awesome!

I heard that the Doctor Who panel sold out in seconds. That one was announced during the Con-I think it was a last minute addition.

Most likely they won't have a schedule until they know what their Comic Con commitments are.

The more popular panels at HQ sold out in seconds... Doctor Who and Nathan Fillion both come to mind as being almost instantly sold out.  Some of the less popular panels though like The Expendables you could almost even get tickets at the door.

I hate to promote it of course because I don't want it to be even harder for me to personally get tickets haha, but they are really great panels and HQ is a highlight for me :)
