9:02 and they're still calculating my time!

Okay got it. I got 1 hr 20 minutes and my husband got 1 hr 5 minutes. I don't think anything on the skywalk will be left by then.

23 minutes is awesome!

What is with over 3 hours? I thought it was supposed to be up to 2 hours?

Dolphina thanks for asking about the VIG. They haven't sold them yet and they're going to do a lottery so we submitted to the lottery.

DaveG, hope all goes well this morning!

Just got in on my husband's time and the only thing left downtown was the Courtyard. The rest were miles away. So I guess I'm stilcking with my out of block reservation at the Westin and paying double.

DaveG, did you get anything?

I'm back.  We have a group of over 20 people that travel to Indy from Milwaukee.  17 of us were available to log into the system and our place in line was all over the place, anywhere from 2 minutes to 3+ hours.  We needed 8 rooms and exactly 8 of us were able to get in early enough for downtown rooms.  Whew!  Not as stressful as SDCC, but stressful nonetheless.

My fear is that I've used up my luck for the year as I got in within 5 minutes and got my first choice.  Now we just have to sort out who's staying in which rooms.  All I know is that I'm downtown and close, so I'm happy.   :)

Glad it worked out for you, Dave! I know you were worried about the housing situation.

Just read in the Gen Con forum that there were several system issues, but the one that caught my attention is that people who bought their badge during housing registration were allowed straight into hotel registration without waiting.  Wow!  That's a major, major error and if I got shut out of  downtown room because of it I know I'd be pretty steamed.  I just don't think Gen Con can do anything about it now.  I highly doubt they would just cancel those reservations.  No idea how many people slipped in on this issue.  I also feel sorry for the people who got system error messages and spent over an hour trying to log in while Gen Con worked to fix the issue.  Just very thankful our group didn't experience any of this.

I hope all these popular cons pay attention.  If they learn from each other, maybe one day they can come up with a system that actually works as intended.  Of course now I'm reading all kinds of posts bashing the random approach from those that didn't get what they wanted.  I think no matter what the system is people who don't get what they want will complain.

my time did not initially come up and i refreshed and got 23 minutes, then my friend sitting next to me on my internet refreshed and got 3+ hours. I don't know if refresh worked or not, but if I had a early time and got error messages, I would be calling every day until they made it right. No way should someone who had a later time but got into the system should be able to book a room I should have had access to. Harsh I know but if you go with a random timer then that needs to be working 100%

I was on my own doing this. I was logged into my Gen On account and saw the countdown timer to the housing sale, then it wouldn't give me a time (I got the 'just a moment' message). Then I refreshed and my time showed up. I then logged into my husband's account, noted his time was (slightly) better and stayed there until my time came up. It 'worked' for me, but my time was so terrible that there wasn't really anything worthwhile there. From what I could see on the Gen COn forums, if you weren't in within the first hour, you had no chance of getting a skywalk hotel. Which wouldn't be so bad if everyone had 1-2 hour times, but some people had times approaching 4 hours!
