So how did you guys do?

I really don't like that they use Facebook. When I would refresh, it would take me to the top of the page and then I would have to scroll down to see if the link was there yet. So, I went back to look at the hotel page, and probably wasted precious seconds. In other words-no con rate for me. I did grab a room at regular rate with M Club access. Also, this year, it's a room rate that can be canceled (I probably won't cancel, but like having the option).

So, a little bad, but a lot of good. We don't mind regular rate in this case, since it isn't outrageous.

Meh. Seemed like I selected the room and tried to check out within 3 seconds at most, but no luck. My theory is that west coast people get in quicker! :-) I booked rooms at the Hilton again for my group.

But on the bright side, I finally got a room at the Hyatt for San Diego. My results in the lottery were dismal, so I've been stalking the waitlist for weeks. I snapped up a room right before the Gally sale. Balance is restored to the universe!

Totally agree about using FB to publish the link! Also, I didn't even think to log into the Marriott site beforehand and just enter the group code (as opposed to clicking the link). I wonder if that would have been faster. I hope I'll remember to try it next year!

Hey, club access is nothing to sniff at! Given the ;lack of proper food options at the LAX Marriott, that will be handy!

We were able to score a room at the Marriott. But we only stay Fri-Sun. I think it's tougher if you stay Thur-Sun.

My sister and I got tickets. We missed last year but we knew we wanted to go to the 30th.

Had no luck in getting the Marriot so booked the Residence Inn instead.

Almost time! Here's hoping that east-coast weather cooperates and the government stays open long enough to keep my flights on schedule.

Gally always seems to go by in a whirlwind, but I'd love to meet up if we can figure out a time. I'm coming in Wednesday evening (fingers crossed) and leaving Monday morning. I'll have down time Wednesday and Sunday evenings, and all of Thursday until registration/ice-cream/lobby con. And of course, I'll have ribbons and buttons to share.

It feels weird not to be attending this year, but with my daughter in college, she won't be going and I was always just tagging along!

Welp, winter storm Maya is messing with my travel plans. I rebooked my flight from Wednesday to Thursday after American Airlines suggested that I might want to do so. There was no change fee, so I assume they are fairly confident they'll be cancelling flights. I apparently do not travel often enough to have known that reservation changes are free when bad weather looms. I thought I'd share in case anyone else is coming from the east coast and is worried about cancellations.
