Speaking of eating outdoor, Bob's burger was giving out free burgers. My wife and I were so afraid of eating around people that we walked away and found a grassy area next to the  sidewalk. The moment we sat down and unwrapped our burgers…SPLASH! The sprinklers turn on. Luckily the burgers were safe and it was a hot day. Ahh the memories…..

I think what’s worse was people who were not mask up when riding the shuttle. That was scary no where to run.

That stinks. I didn’t ride the shuttle but I took the trolley with a lot of unmasked people daily. It’s not required on transportation anymore.

I think there was one good driver that told everyone to mask up before he started the bus. I don’t think it’s required anywhere in California. I wouldn’t care as much if not for my unvaccinated 3 year old. Would have skip out this year if not for being so financially committed.
Bottom line is I still had tons of fun.

Decided to test today, even tho I'm WFH: negative.

I head into the office tomorrow, so I'll test in the morning, but after that it'll be over a week...we'll see.

Have gotten five exposure notifications since Monday. Daily at-home tests have been negative every day. Will take a PCR test at Walgreens tomorrow since that'll be Day 5 after Sunday. No symptoms. I have been feeling tired off and on throughout the week (quite a few naps this week in between returning to work), but I chalk that up more to being drained from SDCC and having it catch up than anything Covid-related (if I am fortunate enough to have avoided it).

I mean being able to tell my boss I am going to take a nap and it being okay is kinda fun.

Plus no commute is a bonus. ;)

We have weekly testing requirements at my work. When I had COVID last January, I was exempted from testing for 90 days, which was nice.

What are "exposure notifications"?  I've seen this mentioned in a few posts and tweets and I don't know what you are referring to.

Some states (California in particular) have a trace and contact app. If you pop positive on a test, you notify the app and the app then goes through location history to identify other people who have the app who might have been in close contact with you at the same time.

My family and I tested positive right after getting home. My husband was the first one with symptoms - which started Sunday.  :(

Exposure notices can also be physical letters.     The health care facility I work at is required to send them out every time it is deemed that you have been exposed to covid.   Thus far, my letter collection stands at 35!!!   The mental toll, to speak of nothing else, of so many exposures is excruciating.

Tests came back negative. We may have avoided Covid Comic Con Edition.

The Biden administration plans to offer updated boosters tailored to the BA.5 subvariant hopefully by September.  The target of the new booster will be people over 50.  The reformulated shots will come from Pfizer and Moderna, however, the data available as to the effectiveness of the new vaccines so far is still preliminary.
