I am both looking forward to Hotelpocalypse to get it behind me, and dreading it because of, well...you know, Hotelpocalypse.

I will say it's more hopeful knowing the years I've not been so lucky in the hotel lottery I have been blessed by being part of this community.

At least I have Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming soon to make everything OK with the world.    ^-^

I'm in the same boat. Hotelpocalypse is by far the worst part of this process. I always end up without a hotel after the lottery and then have to refresh the hotel page every 10 seconds for the next 3 months :(

What's your success rate doing the 10 second refresh thing?

I think the farthest I've ended up staying away from the convention center in the last couple years is the Westin. I have low room requirements though, happy with a single bed, etc

Yep, last year was 5 nights at Marriott Gaslamp for me. Definitely some pickings if you can stick to it.

Sticking with the refresh is not for the faint of heart, yet it can yield some great results.  I got what I needed, although I did not need way downtown, so my find was not as dramatic.  Many close in hotels popped in and out quickly.
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia
