I'm wondering,
I'm staying at the OMNI for SDCC (Wednesday - Sunday), they charge $38dlls for valet parking.

Could it be possible to self-park in the Hilton Bayfront garage (24hrs) for the $27dlls they charge per day? it's alot cheaper than the OMNI that only offers valet... what are my other options?

Well, apparently, we can!
I just asked the Hotel via Twitter, here's their response:

"You can arrive and park on Wednesday."

Are there any bus trips you could look into? The way you can catch a charter bus from SD to LA?

I know this was answered, but the train from LA or Orange County to SD is nice. I would would be taking it, but I staying longer than the convention and I want to use my car before and after the con.

I've heard really good things about the amtrak from LA/OC to SD too. Trains take longer but with the traffic on the 5 the way that it is it probably evens out to be the same amount of time lol. I'm a weirdo though, I like having my car with me even if it's inconvenient... I just like having the security of knowing it's there in case I need it.

Thats exactly what I did, had a blast too being seated to a fellow con-goer so we had a long chat during the ride.

I contacted ACE Parking via email to ask what time the parking lots will be open each morning during comic-con and was told that the hours are 6am to 2am - this is a bummer because in order to get into those Hall H lines (especially Saturday) - you need to be able to parked and in line before 6am - at least if last year was any indication - I there at 6:30am and wasn't able to get into Hall H until the afternoon. Does anyone have any additional info on this?

I am specifically interested in the parking structure that is next to the Bayfront Hilton - the one that has bridge across Harbor Drive attached to it.

Believe those are the standard hours.

Last year folks were being let into the lot around 5am. Probably won't know until CCI makes a specific comment about pre-paid parking.

Pre paid parking sale is the last hurdle before the big show.

Hmmm, I didn't get the email and I'm a vendor. I got the notice that it was coming up but not a notice that it was open.

Emailed the con and asked about my exhibitor parking email. They just sent one, and the link is not live for exhibitors yet.

Friday of last year, I got in line for Hall H just before 9am and missed four panels ("Paranorman", "The Big Bang Theory", "The Walking Dead", "Games of Throes", etc.), but I did get in by mid afternoon to see the panels for "Resident Evil: Retribution" and the "Total Recall" remake.  There was a third big screen panel that followed for "Elysium" (scheduled to open August 9) that featured Matt Damon and Jodie Foster but I didn't stay for that.

Thursday of last year, I got in line just before 8am and was able to see the panel for "Twilight".
