Ha ha, apparently, so did I!  ;p

(At least we'll know how to get there if they move back to Anaheim, ha ha!)

You can also take the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) bus from a hotel near the Amtrak station.  It will take you straight to the Anaheim Convention Center.

Here's a quick travel guide:

Use the Amtrak, get off at Angel Stadium, walk to Ayres Hotel, and use an ART bus to go to Anaheim Convention Center.  Just make sure you get off at the convention center and not at the last stop (which is Disneyland).

The Ayres Hotel is located near the Angel Stadium, so if you get one of the ART buses (I believe it's Route 22 if you get on at the Ayres Hotel).

Google Map of the area around the Ayres Hotel:

Here's a link to start you off:

The link should take you to the travel route (Bus Route 22) that you'll use from Ayres Hotel to the Anaheim Convention Center.

Just to be clear, WonderCon will NOT be in Anaheim this year, but will be held in Los Angeles. Therefore, getting to the Anaheim Convention Center will not help you for WonderCon this year.

Yes, I do apologize for the confusion.  ;p  No need to panic.

I can post a quick guide from Downtown Los Angeles Union Station to the Los Angeles Convention Center if anyone is interested...  ^__~

Question.  I have been offered a free place to stay but they say the drive is going to be 40 mins to an hour and a half based off traffic (they are also attending).   Should I take the free place to stay or is it better get a hotel?

Question.  I have been offered a free place to stay but they say the drive is going to be 40 mins to an hour and a half based off traffic (they are also attending).   Should I take the free place to stay or is it better get a hotel?

Hotels in Downtown L.A. are pretty expensive per night, and generally, most of them are several long city blocks away from the convention center and closer toward the middle part of Downtown.  The JW Marriott and the Luxe City Center are the closest hotels to the convention center.  (The Los Angeles Convention Center itself is basically on the edge of Downtown in the Fashion District, next to the Staples Center.)

In terms of commuting, it really depends on how much gas mileage your car uses on one full tank.  If you have a smaller car, it's probably cheaper to just carpool together and the passengers can chip in for gas money.  However, you also have to factor in travel time as well as parking rates per day that you attend.

Here's a good website to check out parking lot locations and rates: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Remember that, during conventions and other special events, the parking lots closest to the convention center increase their rates (roughly $20 to $25 per day).  If you park a little further away--for example, around the Pico Metrorail station area--the prices are little cheaper.

If you are looking for the convenience of being in Downtown, then it might be better to get a hotel.

Hope that helps!  ^__^d

If you need more help, please let me know.  I'm pretty familiar with the area around the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Ha ha.

Thanks I appreciate it.

They are all going to the con so money wise staying with friends versus a hotel by myself is a lot cheaper.

I guess it comes down to if I want a me trip or a friends trip.

DC normally premier's an animated movie at Wonder Con that I always enjoy and look forward too.  Batman: Bad Blood being released in February and The Killing Joke for SDCC leaves only Justice League vs Teen Titan's the only one without a release date.  I doubt it will premier at Wonder Con with Batman v Superman opening that weekend.   X-men and Captain America both open before SDCC so I am hoping for a Fox and/or MCU panel at Wonder Con.  Anyone else hoping for a Marvel or DC movie panel?

Yes I am!   I didn't realize Batman VS Superman opens that weekend.   I hate when movies get released while I'm at cons.

Is the location need public transit like Sprinter? That would be optimum.

I was looking at the schedule for the Staples Center during Wondercon--

The LA Clippers will be there on the 24th,
the Lakers on the 25th,
the Kings on the 26th
and both the Clippers and the Lakers on the 27th.

I wouldn't mind catching a game after the convention.  :-\

LOL, my reaction as well! Now I'm wondering if the restaurants around will be all booked up.

Speaking of which... did we want to have get-togethers? I could try to find some places that will accept reservations for dinner on Friday and Saturday.

At least we know there will be a lot of additional activity around the Convention Center during the con. Better to be prepared.

Thursday and Friday, the game starts at 7:30 PM.
Saturday at 7 PM. Sunday there's a game at 12:30 and then another one at 6:30.
