Have people got a child badge with a "professional" badge before? I know that press badges will not count for a child badge.

Has anyone been able to take children to preview night before if their badge includes preview night?

I have a panelist attending with a child under 12 attending with him. His badge will say "professional" as that is the type they give to panelists, but technically he did not pay since he was a panelist they offer a free badge. However from what I recall the badge doesn't distinguish between paid or or not for "professional" badges.

Anyone with 15 to 17 year old kids a little worried that we haven't heard from CCI about their status for 2022 SDCC ? They promised late June or early July and well the event is in less than 12 days...

Same, I was told first week of July. Guess we will know when we show up to get child badges since we couldn’t get junior badges.

We know someone who definitely got the e-mail to register, but seems like it wasn't everyone. If you're still waiting, recommend contacting CCI again.

Me too. I emailed them yesterday with proof that I had emailed them before the deadline.

I just received an email and was able to register my son. It could have been either the two emails in two days, or that I did the "Contact Us" email from the webpage. Either way, we finally got a response.

COMIC-CON 2022 TOUCAN TIP OF THE DAY

017: Child Badge Policy + Contact Form

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Comic-Con is proud to offer one of the most generous child badge policies in the industry. Children (ages 12 and under) are free with a paying adult! Children do not need to register for a Comic-Con Member ID to receive a complimentary child badge. You may register up to two children per paid adult attendee. Children must be present to be registered for a badge and adults will be required to provide emergency contact information for any child registrant. Please visit the Registration Area when you arrive on-site for more information.

Children aged 12 or under on July 31, 2021 will not need to have a badge purchased for them for Comic-Con 2022 and may attend as a child with a paying adult. As this is the second year of cancellation, we must now implement a policy where children aged 13 or older on or before July 31, 2021 are not eligible to attend Comic-Con 2022 as a child.

New for 2022! Child Badge Contact Form ☆

CLICK HERE to print out and pre-fill out Child Badge Contact Form. This will expedite the process when you arrive on-site with your child to pick up their badge. Bring the completed form with you and turn it in at the Registration Area or at Badge Solutions in the Sails Pavilion. Once the completed form is received, it will be inserted into the child’s badge. [b[Remember, your child must be present to be registered for a badge.[/b]

If you are unable to, or forget to, print out the available form, we will have a finite amount of copies on-site. Again, if you are able to print out and complete the forms yourself prior to the event, we highly encourage you to do that so that you may receive an expedited service on-site.

NOTE: The contact information provided should belong to the badged adult(s) who will accompany the child while at the show.

That's a good idea. The only time I was ever asked for my children's birth certificates/proof of age was that final year when they were 13 (but had been 12 on the cutoff date). With one of them, the volunteer manning the desk was unaware of the policy and I had to pull it up on the website and show it to her, then use the BC to demonstrate that my child had been 12 on the cutoff date.

You may get someonewho is betetr versed on the rules, but it never hurts to make sure.
Wow, that's nutty; my oldest kid has a January birthday and essentially got a 'bonus year' because they were still 12 when badges went on sale.  I've been attending SDCC for a long time, and I've _never_ had anyone ask for proof of age for my kids - even that year they were 13.  I can't fathom taking a birth certificate to Comic-Con, and obviously a 12/13 year old isn't likely to have state ID (at that point they were still in middle school IIRC).
