(Huh, I just realized we did two PreReg’s last year!)
...so many want to attend the 50th. I think the 'battle' for tickets and hotels may be more fierce than ever!
Yes. I'm stressed out already..
I am planning even earlier this time, because so many want to attend the 50th.
Did anyone go to the Talkback panel? Was there any indication as to when badges may go on sale?
Yes. I'm stressed out already..
I've never started anticipating and thinking about next year's con so early as I have for 2019.I agree and hopefully on the exclusives!
We're barely into August and I'm already incredibly excited about the prospect of attending the 50th anniversary of Comic-Con.
Next years programming and exclusives are going to be amazing!
For those who are interested in returning registration buying groups, I should be making an announcement about the groups towards the end of the month.Awesome!

Comic-Con 2019 Child-to-Junior Badge Validation
Did you attend Comic-Con 2018 as a child but are now a junior attendee? Children who attended Comic-Con 2018 with a paid adult attendee that are age 13 or older on July 31, 2018 may be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration!
To qualify for Returning Registration, you must create a Comic-Con Member ID account. Make sure to select "Junior" as your membership type! Once you have created a new account and confirmed the email address, log in to your Member ID account, select the “Registration Info” tab, and enter the child badge number from the back of your Comic-Con 2018 child badge.
The child badge number is located on the back of the child badge, under the emergency contact phone number. All child badge numbers start with a “901” or “902” prefix. You will need to select the correct prefix from the dropdown list and enter the remaining characters in the field that follows. You will not need to input the dash. (Ex: 901-##### or 902-#####)
If you have already created a junior Comic-Con Member ID account, log in to your existing account and follow the steps above.
If the child-to-junior validation link is not visible in the “Registration Info” tab, your birthdate is not in the correct range for child-to-junior validation, or you accidentally registered as an adult membership type during new account creation. If the validation link is not visible, please use the "contact us" feature well in advance of the September 6, 2018 deadline to correct your membership type or birthdate.
You must validate your Comic-Con 2018 child badge number by September 6, 2018 to be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration.
Comic-Con 2019 Attendee Registration
Did your child attend Comic-Con 2018 and would like to be eligible for Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration? Children who attended Comic-Con 2018 with a paid adult attendee who were age 13 or older on July 31, 2018 may be eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration! Please visit www.comic-con.org/cci/2019/child-badge-policy for instructions on how to complete the child-to-junior validation process by September 6, 2018. You will need the physical Comic-Con 2018 child badge to complete the validation process.
Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration is open to Comic-Con 2018 paid attendees only. You may purchase badges for up to three people - yourself included - during Returning Registration. Each person must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID and must be eligible to participate in Returning Registration. You may not purchase badges for others using your own Member ID.
If you did not purchase an attendee badge for Comic-Con 2018, you may participate in Comic-Con 2019 Open Registration. To participate in Open Registration, you must have a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. The Member ID system will close - without notice - in advance of Open Registration. Make sure you and anyone you wish to buy a badge for has their own confirmed Member ID well ahead of Open Registration or you may be left out! Please keep in mind that not all badges are sold during Returning Registration. There will be badges available during Open Registration.
Last years child validation was due Oct 6 and returning reg was like Oct 27.... this year is due Sep 6.... so my thoughts are leaning end of Sep

I found the email. They initially had to complete the registration by September 20. but seems they did extend to october 6? In any case, signs point towards end of September or beginning of October (the first weekend would be a nightmare due to NYCC).

Every year before PreReg / Returning Reg, I'm full of confidence that I'll get badges. So confident that I think my group of friends will all get 4 days + preview, and we'll have enough slots leftover to help others. I always can't wait for the actual date. That is, until the actual date, and I log in, see the blue spinning circle, and dread falls down on me and all hope is lost, and I'm lamenting about how unlucky I am, and I'm thinking about what drink I'll be having to drown my sorrows. And it's not even 9am PST yet.
Does anyone remember if Last Year CCI told us Returning Reg was going to be before the end of the year. I know they told us Open Reg was going to be before the end of the year. With that information did we just assume Returning Reg was going to be earlier, or did they tell us that.
Just curious...
My memory's a bit hazy, but I do kinda recall being taken off-guard that Returning Reg was so early last year, especially given that Returning Reg for 2017 happened in March (that's right, we actually went through two Returning Registrations in 2017, one for 2017, one for 2018). Maybe I just didn't keep up with the news and rumors, but I certainly didn't expect Returning Reg to be so early.
And now, for 2019, we're all kinda expecting it to be around the same time frame, which, given CCI's history, is not a very good expectation. If there's one thing CCI is consistent about, it's being inconsistent with when they do things. (Actually, if it does happen around the same time, they would be inconsistent in their inconsistency.)
Just logged in and all is well! I prefer they do Oct or Nov. Mainly I would just like good notice. Our weekend schedule gets booked up early, so easiest for me to rearrange if I get early noticeI would like some earlier notice too.... like you, my weekends book up fast!

The Comic-Con International Member ID system is temporarily offline for routine scheduled maintenance. Please try us again later. Thank you for your patience.
2019 marks Comic-Con’s golden anniversary! Started in 1970 in the basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego, Comic-Con grew from an excited crowd of 300 fans to the giant that it is today! Moving from the U. S. Grant Hotel to the El Cortez to the Performing Arts Center and—in 1991— the San Diego Convention Center, Comic-Con has become a San Diego staple and a world-wide phenomenon.
As we gear up to celebrate Comic-Con 50 (July 18-21 with Preview Night on July 17 at the San Diego Convention Center), we’re going to be re-introducing some of our logos from the past. This groovy gem is from Comic-Con 1980 and was illustrated by (at the time) underground cartoonist John Pound, who went on to a long career including comic covers, illustrations, art prints, book covers, and over 500 Garbage Pail Kid stickers (along with numerous other assignments for Topps).
Here’s a new version of this classic logo (next to its original 1980 counterpart), updated exclusively for Comic-Con 2019. And could this be one of our Golden Anniversary logo T-shirts? Hmmm …. MAYBE! (And don’t worry … we’re not replacing the world-famous “eye” logo!)
Stay tuned for more Comic-Con 50 news, special events, exciting guests, and more logos!

Badge price list no longer indicates (sold out) in the Badge Type column: https://comic-con.org/cci/purchase-badges
Handling fee increased from $5 to "All purchases are subject to a $7.50 handling fee per member."
My memory's a bit hazy, but I do kinda recall being taken off-guard that Returning Reg was so early last year, especially given that Returning Reg for 2017 happened in March (that's right, we actually went through two Returning Registrations in 2017, one for 2017, one for 2018). Maybe I just didn't keep up with the news and rumors, but I certainly didn't expect Returning Reg to be so early.FWIW 2017 PreReg was an anomaly for how late it was. It had been late October, IIRC, for a couple years (including last year) - I know that because I teach HS marching band and there have been several times the last several years that PreReg was on the day of a specific field tournament that's on the same weekend (last Sat. of October) every year.

(Remaining: "All badge purchases are subject to a $7.50 handling fee per member.")
Comic-Con week is so valuable to me each year – both as a mental escape, and as a meetingplace with countless friends – that they could charge $500 or more and I would still have zero hesitation ponying up.
[member=4905]mattytreks[/member] - Shhhh...not so loud. :-\Yes, we don’t want them knowing that, it’s a secret. Lol
Oh, my fur and whiskers! Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration is on the way and we’re here to make sure you’re prepped and ready. Not much has changed, but let’s review and get the very merry unbirthday party started! We know you’re probably thinking, “how can one possibly pay attention to a book with no pictures in it?” It’s simple! Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end, then stop.
As usual, Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration is open to Comic-Con 2018 paid attendees. First time attendees, professionals, guests of professionals (paid or complimentary), exhibitors (and exhibitor-purchased attendee badges), retailers, the Queen of Hearts, volunteers, staff, complimentary passes, the Mad Hatter, and press are not eligible to participate in Returning Registration. Registration for these categories will occur at a later date.
How will you know if you’re eligible? First, go this way, then down, then that way, back, and this way again. Next, log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and look in the top-right corner. If you see a green checkmark that says, “OK CCI’19 Paid Attendee Return Reg” then you’re good to go! Finally, celebrate with a some EAT ME cookies. Just make sure you’re outside!
The Returning Registration badge sale will again take place through the Expo Logic waiting room. Your registration code and link will be sent via email and will also be available in your Comic-Con Member ID account under the “Registration Info” tab sometime soon. You can purchase badges for up to three people – yourself included! Each person must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID and must be eligible to participate in Returning Registration. Make sure you have their information ready or you could find yourself wondering, “whoooo areeee youuuu” during the sale.
And, as always, Comic-Con will continue to offer one of the most generous child badge policies in Wonderland the industry. Children ages 12 and under are free with a paid adult.
Well, the time has come to talk of other things – of shoes and ships and sealing wax, and badge shipping information and updates.
In an effort to reduce lost, returned, and undeliverable badges, we have introduced a simple process to verify your badge shipping address! Please log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account, choose the “Contact Info” tab, and select the “Verify Shipping Address” option. Upon verification, your address will turn green and a checkmark will display. After all, no wise fish would go anywhere without a porpoise ... or without verifying their shipping address.
You must log in and verify your badge shipping address by May 13, 2019 to have your badge shipped in advance. Don’t be late! Late! For this very important date! We are unable to mail badges to an unverified shipping address. If you’re having trouble verifying your badge shipping address, don’t cry and create a pool of tears! Review that you have entered everything correctly. If everything is correct and your address still won’t verify, have a cup of tea and use the green “Contact Us” feature in your Comic-Con Member ID account for assistance. The Queen of Hearts has decreed that you do this well in advance of the May 13, 2019 badge shipping address verification deadline.
We are unable to ship to international addresses, including Tugley Wood (we prefer to avoid the Jubjub Bird and Bandersnatch when we can.) If you are an international attendee, you may pick up your badge when you arrive onsite, or you may choose to have your badge shipped to a domestic address of your choice by utilizing the “Badge Shipping Address” feature.
One more thing: make sure to take a peek at both your home and shipping addresses. Your badge will be sent to the badge shipping address only. Changing your home address will not change your shipping address!
Now, that wasn’t so bad! Contrariwise, if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn’t, it ain’t. That’s logic.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
(Please don't be October 20, please don't be October 20, please don't be October 20...)
It's starting to look more like October 13th, based on when Toucan posted the same info for last year.
I hope it doesn't go any later than that.
Haven't yet ruled out this weekend, but I doubt they will have it next weekend during NYCC.

Oh man, I was even hoping for an October date but didn't realize that it was right around the corner. Time to start readying myself and my spreadsheets.

I think your right. We normally get a few days to prepare before pre registration.
Last Year we got 10 days notice. The announcement came on 10/18/2017 for the pre-reg date of 10/28/2017. If it's going to be the 13th, keep your eyes on your mailbox tomorrow.
>:(
Reading this made my blood pressure go up, lol.
Oh snap! The Expo Logic waiting room for Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration will open at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 for registration code authorization. The badge sale will begin shortly after 9:00 AM PDT.
To participate, you’ll need your personal registration code, the link to the Expo Logic waiting room, and an Infinity Stone. They will be sent to you via email and will be available in your Comic-Con Member ID account under the “Registration Info” tab at least 48 hours before the sale. Your registration code will keep out pesky, domineering Titans (we see you, Thanos) and anyone else not eligible to participate in Returning Registration.
The waiting room will close for entry at 9:00 AM PDT on Saturday, October 13, so make sure you arrive before then. If you don’t authorize your code before 9:00 AM PDT, you risk getting trapped in the Collector’s vault! Not even the Time Stone will be able to help you once the waiting room is closed. (Well, maybe it can. But good luck getting your hands on it!)
Thinking about buying badges for Thor and Spider-Man? Well, you can purchase badges for up to three people – yourself included! Just make sure that they are eligible to participate or you might embarrass yourself in front of the wizards. Each person must have their own Comic-Con Member ID and must be eligible to participate in Returning Registration. When buying for others, you will need be perfectly balanced, as all things should be, by having their Member IDs and last names ready. And another thing ... you may not purchase badges for others using your own Member ID or your made-up names. Sorry, Dr. Strange.
We caution against joining a badge buying group with anyone in the Black Order. Comic-Con is unable to intervene on your behalf should Ebony Maw post your registration code or personal information online. Remember, each registration code is good for one entry into the waiting room only. Do not attempt to enter your registration code in multiple browsers.
Lastly, all badges will be shipped to the badge shipping address on file in your Comic-Con Member ID account as of May 13, 2019. We are unable to ship badges to an international address (not even Wakanda). International attendees will be able to pick up their badge when they arrive onsite. We encourage you to review your shipping address on the “Contact Info” tab in your Member ID account well ahead of the May 13, 2019 deadline.
Remember, there are more eligible attendees than badges available during Returning Registration. Not everyone who enters the waiting room prior to 9:00 AM PDT will be selected for a registration session. If you are unable to purchase a badge during Returning Registration, you will be able to participate in Comic-Con 2019 Open Registration on ... I am Groot.
What? You don’t speak Groot? It was an elective on Asgard!

WOW. Right after NYCC
I was eating when I got my e-mail and almost choked on a bit of burrito. To think, we were waiting for tomorrow, CCI always manages to throw us for a loop somehow!
See, you joke about that.. but we basically did returning reg like 2 weeks after the con in 2013 or 2014I remember that year! Craziness!!!
Now I have to ask my work to switch my original shift back for the evening. Giving up going to a hawks game for this day!!
I'm visiting family that week, and they scheduled a family photo for Saturday morning even though I gave them a heads up that Comic-Con pre-registration might be that day, and if it is, I won't be able to make the photo.
...I guess they'll have to reschedule if they want me to be in the photo. :P

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION UPDATE Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration FAQ!
Professor Toucan here! Comic-Con 2019 is rapidly approaching and I’ve assembled all your pressing Returning Registration questions. If you don’t see your question below, use the “Contact Us” feature in your Comic-con Member ID account and shoot me an email!
Q: How do I know if I’m eligible for Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration?
A: It’s simple! To see if you are eligible, log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and look in the top-right corner. If you see the green “OK CC’19 Paid Attendee Return Reg” flag, you are eligible to participate!
Remember, Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration is only open to Comic-Con 2018 paid attendees.
Q: I’m eligible! What do I need to participate?
A: You’ll need two essential items to participate: the link to the Expo Logic waiting room and your personal registration code. Keep your eyeballs peeled for an email containing the link to the Expo Logic waiting room and your personal registration code. I’ll send it at least 48 hours prior to the badge sale.
Q: When will I receive my registration code and link to the Expo Logic waiting room?
A: I will send an email containing both your registration code and waiting room link at least 48 hours prior to October 13. You will also be able to access them under the “Registration Info” tab in your Comic-Con Member ID account at least 48 hours prior to the sale.
Q: Can I share my registration code, or use it more than once?
A: When participating in Returning Registration, always remember my “one code, one browser” rule! A registration code may be redeemed for only one entry into the Expo Logic waiting room. If the code is used more than once, or in multiple browsers, the most recent use of the code will be considered active causing prior sessions to expire. If you share your code, you run the risk of being locked out!
Q: What time do I need to enter the Expo Logic waiting room? Is it 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)?
A: Excellent question! Here’s how it works: The Expo Logic waiting room will open at 8:00 AM PDT for registration code entry; then, badges will go on sale shortly after 9:00 AM PDT. That’s an entire hour! You do not need to rush to the waiting room at exactly 8:00 AM PDT to participate! Arriving early to the waiting room does not give you an advantage, so sleep in!
However, please keep in mind that the waiting room will close at 9:00 AM PDT sharp. You must authorize your registration code prior to 9:00 AM PDT to participate in Returning Registration. We suggest you authorize your code sometime after 8:00 AM PDT and then head to the kitchen for some pancakes! Once you’ve had breakfast and made your tea, come back 10 – 15 minutes before 9:00 AM PDT.
Q: If I get to the waiting room before 9:00 AM PDT, am I guaranteed a badge?
A: Admittance to the Expo Logic waiting room does not guarantee you a badge, regardless of what time you enter the waiting room. There are more eligible members than badges available during Returning Registration.
When the badge sale begins at 9:00 AM PDT, members will be randomly moved from the waiting room to a registration session. Not all members will be selected for a registration session. If you are unable to purchase a badge during Returning Registration, you will be able to participate in Open Registration at a later date.
Q: Can I buy badges for my friends?
A: What’s a bird without its flock? You may purchase badges for up to THREE people total, yourself included. Each individual you are purchasing for must be eligible to participate and they must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID account. You will need their Member ID and LAST NAME. You do not need their Member ID password. You may not purchase badges for others using your own Comic-Con Member ID.
Q: I am eligible for Returning Registration and I’d like to get a badge for my 9-year-old daughter. Does she need a Comic-Con Member ID? Can she participate in Returning Registration?
A: Great news! Comic-Con proudly offers one of the most generous child badge policies in the industry! Little birdies age 12 and under are free with a paying adult and they do not need a Member ID. Just arrive onsite and fly over to the Registration Area to register your child for a badge. Click here to check out our Child Badge Policy.
Q: Where will badges be shipped?
A: Badges will be shipped to each individual attendee. You do not need to enter a shipping address during checkout. If your friend buys a badge for you, it will be shipped to the shipping address on file in your Comic-Con Member ID account as of May 13, 2019.
Q: What should I do if I forget to change my shipping address before Returning Registration begins?
A: Badges will begin shipping about 3 - 4 weeks before Comic-Con, so you have until May 13, 2019 to update shipping address in your Comic-Con Member ID account. To check your shipping address, log in to your Member ID account and select the “Contact Info” tab.
Q: I am an international attendee. Where will my badge be shipped?
A: Our beaks are long, but our wings are short! We can’t fly very long distances, so we are unable to ship badges to an international address. International attendees may pick up their badge when they arrive onsite. Badge pick up hours and locations will be posted at www.comic-con.org/cci/badge-pickup as we get closer to the event.
If you would like to have your badge shipped to a United States address, please log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and update the “Badge Shipping Address” under the “Contact Info” tab with a domestic shipping address.
Q: If I am only able to purchase some of the badges I want during Returning Registration, will I be able to participate in Open Registration to try to buy the rest?
A: As long as you do not purchase a 4-Day with Preview Night badge during Returning Registration, you will be eligible to participate in Open Registration. This includes Preview Night upgrades. For example, if you are able to purchase all four daily badges (Thursday through Sunday) during Returning Registration, you will be eligible to participate in Open Registration if you want to add Preview Night.
Here’s the part that I hate the most: there are more eligible members than badges available in both sales. You are not guaranteed a badge purchase during either sale, regardless of when you enter the waiting room.
Q: When is Open Registration?
A: We are hoping to launch Open Registration ... soon! The earlier we can get you your badge, the earlier you can start making travel arrangements. Be sure to log in to your Member ID account and make sure you are opted in to receive email notifications with updates on Open Registration! And don’t forget to follow my blog for important announcements!
Q: If I purchase an attendee badge for Comic-Con 2019 but cannot attend, will I still qualify for Comic-Con 2020 Returning Registration?
A: Yes! However, we are always looking for ways to improve the registration and badge purchase processes. Comic-Con reserves the right to change eligibility requirements – without notice – at any time. For more information, please review the Terms and Conditions.
Thank you for sticking with me through this extensive FAQ. Oh! One last thing! Be sure to to log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account before Returning Registration begins to check your “Contact Info” tab and ensure your shipping address is up-to-date.
We are excited to see you in the waiting room on October 13! Good luck!

Was it ever confirmed one way or the other that you actually had to use / scan your badge during SDCC 2018 for you to be eligible for Returning Reg? ie, if you bought a badge but last minute couldn’t make it down to San Diego, are you still eligible?

Members who are eligible for Attendee Returning Registration will not be able to make changes to some information in their account until after Returning Registration is completed.
I noticed that the Registration Codes have now been entered in the CCI Member ID under Registration Info.
I suggest saving a copy of the code, at least as a backup, for Saturday Morning.
I guess this is really happening. ;D
'copy the code onto the local machine'

mantra of the week
I will be at a ski resort for the entire weekend to hike and to 'relax'. The WiFi there is so bad, I have had this planned with friends for awhile and now am having anxiety about being able to log in for returning reg. Might have to use my phone. ???
I have heard of people having success using their phone...::fingers crossed:: for you.If you can bring a lap top consider using your phone as a wifi hot spot.

As you know, Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration is only open to Comic-Con 2018 paid attendees. Anyone who wishes to purchase a badge must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID and must be eligible to participate.
After 300 years, the Sanderson Sisters are back and they are hoping to attend Comic-Con 2019 together in July. If Winifred wants to buy a badge for Mary and Sarah, they need to make sure they are all eligible to participate. In order to verify their eligibility, each sister needs to log in to their Member ID account and look in the top right corner. If the “OK CC’19 Paid Attendee Return Reg” flag is visible, they are eligible to participate!
Winifred will need the Comic-Con Member ID and last name of everyone she wishes to purchase badges for. On October 13, she will enter her registration code any time between 8:00 – 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) to enter the Expo Logic waiting room. Badges will go on sale shortly after 9:00 AM PDT. If she is randomly selected for a registration session, she needs to input her own Member ID and last name to begin the registration session. A prompt will ask for the number of eligible attendees you'd like to purchase for. Now, form a calming circle and take notes … Since Winifred is hoping to get a Saturday badge for herself, Mary, and Sarah, she will select 3. She must pay close attention and choose her selection on this page carefully because not even the most powerful spell will enable her to return to this page once she selects "Continue".

The next step is the badge selection page! Winifred has already validated her Member ID and is ready for badge selection. Next, she’ll input Mary and Sarah’s Member ID and last name, then select “Validate”. Once the Member IDs are validated, she can select badges from the available inventory and proceed to checkout, chanting, “And now you’re mine!”
An order acknowledgement will be sent to the buyer via e-broomstick (or vacuum) immediately after the order is submitted. We will begin processing credit cards, and a buyer’s receipt will be sent to the buyer’s email address within 48 - 72 hours. Everyone will then receive their individual badge confirmation to the email associated with their Member ID account at least 72 hours after Returning Registration is complete.
Now, a talking cat told us (his name is Binx, by the way) that one of the most popular pages in Spellbook is the Badge Buying Group elixir. It is vital that you only drink the potion of a well-organized buying group with a good communication process in place. Buying groups can be helpful, but we've seen an increasing number of people get shut out due to disorganized efforts and lack of communication.
Once a Member ID is used in a registration session, it is locked for 15 minutes. If your Member ID is used by someone in your group, you will not be able to use it if you are also selected for a registration session, and may find yourself yelling, “Amuck! Amuck Amuck!”. Your Member ID will not validate, and you will receive an error message: “There was an issue when attempting to validate this Member ID.” If you receive this error message, your Member ID may have been used by another participant and Comic-Con will be unable to help you. Not even lighting a black flame candle can help you.
Also, keep in mind that your registration code is only good for one entry into the waiting room, and sharing your code could get you locked out. Do not attempt to enter it on multiple devices and browsers. Doing so will authorize the most recent device the registration code was entered on, and your previous device will become unauthorized. Buying groups often share their registration codes, which can lead to a lot of confusion.
And lastly, but of the utmost importance: We highly suggest only joining a buying group with people you trust. If someone in your group attempts to sell or scalp their badge (we’re lookin’ at you, Jay and Ice), all badges in the order will be canceled, including yours.
Not all eligible attendees will be able to purchase a badge during Returning Registration. There are far more eligible attendees then available badges. Entry to the waiting room does not guarantee you a badge or registration session. Preparation is key! We encourage you to bookmark Toucan - the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more tricks and treats in the week leading up to Returning Registration.
Bye bye!
Interesting, the waiting room link isn't there yet, but the codes are...I assume that the links will be emailed out today.
The emails are now going out. I just received mine.
Sorry for all the consecutive posts. :-X
COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION UPDATE Join Us on a Registration Code Adventure!
Take a break from the Truffle Shuffle and let’s talk registration codes! To enter the Expo Logic waiting room, every eligible attendee will need their own personal registration code. Personal registration codes help prevent ineligible members, and Mama Fratelli, from entering the Expo Logic waiting room.
You won’t need a doubloon from 1632 or an old treasure map to locate your registration code and Expo Logic waiting room link. Simply log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Registration Info” tab. The link and your registration code will also be sent to you via email at least 48 hours prior to Returning Registration.
The Expo Logic waiting room will open for registration code authorization at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on October 13, 2018. You don’t need to arrive exactly at 8:00 AM PDT, so open up a Baby Ruth and arrive 10 – 15 minutes prior to 9:00 AM PDT to avoid unnecessary wait times. However, the waiting room will close promptly at 9:00 AM PDT and if you do not enter your code in time, you will be shut out!
Shortly after 9:00 AM PDT, Expo Logic will begin randomly moving members from the waiting room to a registration session. Regardless of what time you entered the waiting room, you may or may not be selected for a registration session.
If you are accidentally removed from the Expo Logic waiting room or temporarily lose connectivity, never say die! As long as you entered the Expo Logic waiting room prior to 9:00 AM PDT, you can return via the waiting room link and re-enter your registration code (which is much easier than playing a sequence of notes on an organ made of human bones while the floor is collapsing behind you). Removal from the waiting room will not impact your chances of being randomly selected for a registration session.
Your personal registration code will only authorize one device and one browser to enter the waiting room. Attempting to authorize your registration code on multiple browsers will authorize the most recent device the registration code was entered on, and your previous device will become unauthorized. Registration codes are good for one entry into the waiting room only. If you and Chunk will be using the same computer, use a different browser for each registration code. DO NOT use different tabs within the same browser.
Now … before you hop on The Inferno and search for rich stuff, we highly suggest only joining a well-organized buying group. Buying groups can be helpful, but we've seen an increasing number of people get shut out due to disorganized efforts and lack of communication. Be cautious of any groups that include the Fratelli family! And if your stomach is growling, there’s trouble. Once a Member ID is used in a registration session, it is locked for 15 minutes and you will not be able to use it if you are also selected for a registration session.
And another thing: Your personal registration code is embedded in your waiting room URL. Do not post pictures of your waiting room or registration session online, or someone will be able to use your code to enter and your session will expire.
Bye, Willy. Thanks.

I have a question. Do you think geographic location when buying badges gives you preference over others? I remember I tried getting badges for 3 years living in San Diego and never got a chance, but on year 4 I used my work computer which has an New Jersey IP address and got badges for all 4 days. Last year on returning registration from my computer at home, San Diego based IP address, I was only able to get Thursday and Sunday. I'm thinking of trying my work computer again for returning regs this Saturday. What do you guys think? Thanks.
Quick question that I hope someone can answer - you can only buy Preview Night if you buy all other days, right? I haven't had to think about it because most people in my buying group usually all want all days plus Preview Night, but this year, someone doesn't want Sunday.Yes, you have to buy all days if you buy preview night! :)
This is the first year we have to buy 5 badges!! We've only had to get 3 badges the previous years but now my twins are 13. No more free badges for them! Wonder what our chances are of getting in to buy all the badges we need? Hoping to hear of some success stories... we will have 4 computers going at once. Wish me luck! ;D
And good luck to everyone else! :)
We had the same thing when our kids transitioned to juniors. Yes, you need more badges, but you also get another pre-reg code for each one. So 2 extra pre-reg codes to help you get into the buying window!
Thanks, TJ....That's true....we have 5 codes now but only 4 computers. :)Is it possible to borrow a friend or neighbors laptop for a couple of hours . Or if you are in a buying group if a member has an extra computer they can run the code for you.

I could always open up a different browser, too. I'm not going to worry about it too much....Thanks!! :)

Open up multiple windows (in different browsers) on the same computer. Our family of 4 does 2 windows on 2 different computers: one Firefox and one Chrome each.

Will using more than one browser work? The communication on the website states: Your personal registration code will only authorize one device and one browser to enter the waiting room.
This will only work with different Registration Codes (i.e. multiple family members with each their own reg code). You are correct in assuming it will not work while using the same reg code.
Strangely not as nervous about tomorrow as years past. We have a group of four, which is that odd number where we need two of us to get in. If I strike out tomorrow, I’ll definitely be looking into a small buying group for Open Reg, a group with a multiple of three.
The anxiety doesn't seem as high this sale, right?!? I'm a group leader so I've been busy, but there haven't been many questions or the usual sense of urgency.
I'm thiiis close to going out for coffee. That will totally help, right?Yes, that will calm you down. >:D

Quick last minute question. Is this like Hotel Draw where you can't run multiple tabs in the same browser. Put another way, can my daughter and I each of our codes in Chrome on the same computer? You would need to use separate browsers, like one Chrome and one IE. It won't work if you use the same browser on the same computer.
I'm actually still a bit sick with the flu....... so I'm going to order delivery of coffee and pancakes lol

Welcome to the Expo Logic waiting room! You’re early! Comic-Con 2019 Returning Registration will begin shortly after 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), so you have plenty of time to search the ruins of Teldrassil while you wait. #WorldofWarcraft #RR2019 #SDCC50

I see a ton of people on Twitter posting screenshots, which include their browser's URL bar. DON'T DO THAT. That URL contains your code.
so nervousss! DOn't know why, I know the drill by now XD
Good luck today, everyone!
Does anyone recall if member ID is tied to registration code?
If someone already purchased your badges but you get into the purchase window, can you enter someone else's member IDs to buy for them?

Yup, you can! I did this last year. All our badges were purchased by 9:30am, and then one more session got in at 9:40am, and I was able to buy for three fellow FoCC'ers.
Good luck today, everyone!

If you are selected for a registration session, you will need to enter an eligible Comic-Con Member ID and LAST NAME. Do not enter your Member ID and password. Only Member IDs that have not yet been used for a registration session will be eligible.
PN sold out as of ~9:19am
No, hope you're Safe and power returns.Thankfully safe. Just a little bit of rain and our power lines panic lol.
Well everyone I guess this is my eulogy it was fun while it lasted.. 8 years run finally ends for me.
Goodbye!
Got everything but preview night. Really wanted that. Never got to go to it in the past.
Does anyone know if you can add days during open registration? My friend only got Sunday.

Goodbye!
It was a bad year for my buying group this year. Last year, I was done at 9:15. This year, nothing. :'( I'll be so sad to break my 11 year streak on the 50th anniversary.
Putting all sorts of optimistic thoughts and good vibes for everyone for open registration!!!

There’s still open registration
Things went way faster too. Everything sold out by 9:52am, but last year it was 10:13. PN night was 2-3 minutes faster, Sat was a bit slower, but Friday was 2-3 minutes faster. And Thursday was way faster, at 9:47 this year, but 10:01 last year. I wonder if it's
a) they let more people /session in at once
b) they allocated less badges
c) people are just overall faster at the process
It felt to me like there were fewer badges available overall. It seemed like the FoCC buying groups were getting in slowly.Yep, I agree! PN sold way fast than what I remember for pre-reg, and the group I was in, I know 2 people got in: me (4-days; 27 mins after the sale begun) and another person (at the start of the sale, so they got lucky). I do think more were able to get something, but I am not sure. I have to double check with the group leader. Another code a family member was using did get in, but everything was gone before we could help out more in the group...
So how do these groups work. Do they have banks of computers?

Being a new buying group here I was really worried BUT they did GREAT!!!
Everyone got at least 4day except for the ones who marked 4day+PN for their minimum (only 2 people) and one who wasn't there... technically we got 33/36 badges.
One hiccup that we are hoping will straighten out. I am very impressed and happy with all my group members, you guys rock!!!!!!

So in 2016 we tried for tickets for the first time as we were planning a trip to the US and got nothing.LOL!! This sounds so familiar! Once you start, you can't stop. You could reason that it's the 50th anniversary and you wouldn't want to miss that. 2020? Well, you'll think of something! :)
2017 we weren’t planning on travelling anywhere but decided to try again cause we obviously wouldn’t get anything - and we got all four main days. Great, once in a lifetime experience!
2018 we decided to try again, since if we were ever going to go again then returning reg was the way to go, but still we likely wouldn’t get tickets - we got all four main days. Great, twice in a lifetime experience!
After that it was decided without doubt that 2018 was the last time we’d go. No doubt. Fullstop.
So can someone explain to me how the hell I’ve gone and got us the four main days again for 2019?? Thrice in a lifetime?? This madness has to end ;D
Best start planning for 2020...
This returning reg was probably the most nerve-wracking reg I've ever experienced.
I saw the Friday and Saturday low inventory message on the screen and just as I was about to accept my fate one of my browsers got through followed by another and I was able to buy for everyone in my group and help one person out from the forum group. I'm just relieved that I was able to slide past through to get all 4 days.
Same I saw the message pop up that preview night was sold out but when I came to the log in screen preview night was still available for me and my group. Then I was able to help out another group get 4 days when they said Friday and Saturday were about to be sold out.

I think this might have been me and my friend. You are so wonderful to help out! This was our first year working with a buying group after getting slowly diminishing returns over the last few years trying to go it on our own. [member=7390]clambert1273[/member] was AMAZING. Such a great experience, and she was really calm when the whole chat was exploding with questions during the sale itself (or at least did a good enough job pretending to be). It was a good thing we joined this year, because neither my friend nor I even made it into the room at all. But we got all four days for the first time in three years! Hurray!
I’m wondering if the order reference numbers are actually done in the order bought. I got in very early and I noticed this year that the number after the 777 was very low
Looking at past cons:
2016: only got Sunday in open reg. The number was Over 100,000
2017: got 4 days preview night in open reg. Number 79,000 something.
2018: 4 days in ret reg. The number was 56,000 something. I then managed to get preview night in open reg and the reference number was 86,000
2019 got in super fast and the number is less than 50,000 to put it mildly.
ETA: Please don’t post your actual order reference numbers.
FWIW, 7 of our sessions were in between 8-8:30 am PST. One buyer forgot about the sale and entered the session at 8:58 AM...and that was the first to come up, at 9:09, ironically.
Similar experience here. One in our group had the internet drop about 5 minutes before the sale because they were having to use a wifi hotspot. They logged back in asap, and were one of the very first to get badges - it was so fast that we didn't even realize sorting was done.
How fast is fast? I've always wondered when the first person gets in. 9:01? 9:05?
I believe it was about 9:06 that people started to get in for this particular sale (based on the yellow status box saying that people were getting in).
As an aside, am I the only person who gets ticked off wat the 'be patient, we are slowly letting people in to buy' messages? I mean, these people are buying MY badges and CCI is telling me to be patient? Sheesh!!!!!! ;D
I love hearing stories like this! This is why we work so hard to run buying groups on FoCC. As we work together, we are stronger. [member=7390]clambert1273[/member] is awesome and I am so glad that her group's first run out went so well!
wait so does the reference number you get from your receipt equal the place you were in line ?
Nope, there’s no line. Everyone is in a pool and are randomly chosen from that pool.

I think what ToryRoxx meant was once the sorting is done, you have a queue/line number. At least that's what I took it to mean.
Yup. I was wondering if the number associated with our emailed reciept was our queue/ticket number

Yeah, I think the order numbers seem to indicate at least one of the following
- There were less tickets available
Less abandonment during the sale (people dropping off either cause the tickets they wanted were all sold out or someone got their tickets already)
Now that most of us (I assume) have received our credit card confirmations, the last step is waiting for our barcodes, even though they're irrelevant since we now have our badges mailed to us. Last year, most of us did not receive them, leading some of us to either contact CC or Epic to get them.I got the cc confirmation late last night, so one less thing to worry about. No barcode though.
And no, I have not received any barcodes yet.
I got the cc confirmation late last night, so one less thing to worry about. No barcode though. Finally got mine this morning. A little later than usual, but a big sigh of relief.
Barcodes will likely take a few more days.
My wife got her barcode today, 7:36 am PDT.
Yes. Violet , the exact same thing happened to me. I had validated all 3 member Id's entered the number of days along with my CC information. As I went to check out I got that crazy pop up message. Unfortunately I was unable to process. I do have screen shots
So can someone explain to me how the hell I’ve gone and got us the four main days again for 2019?? Thrice in a lifetime?? This madness has to end ;D
It's weak that once you have someone buy your badge, you're locked out. My wife and I had 2 computers going and one session opened up after the others while Thursday and Sunday were still available, but we couldn't buy anything as we had purchased badges in the system. It would have been nice to be able to help a few other people out.
WE ARE THE CCI GEEKS... YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE WAS FUTILE...In this case, all you would need to do is enter a new person's member id and last name instead of yours on the initial screen. Then go in and purchase for them and two others.
:P
This year, we had a group of about 12. Four of us got through, so everyone got 4-day badges. The prior two years, a friend had gotten in first and bought me and my wife badges, and I was finally able to repay the favor and get him a 4-day badge this year. My purchase session started at 9:19am. We received the purchase confirmation email sometime yesterday.

If someone buys a badge for you, your session is still active. You can still get picked. You're locked out if you leave your ID on the purchase page as one of the badges to be purchased. You get around that by replacing your id with the id of someone else who has not purchased a badge.
Couple of questions:
1.) My wife is military -- so beyond simply indicating that on her Member ID profile page, how can she go about submitting her identification to CCI to verify her identity? Will CCI ask her to provide this prior to mailing her badge out, or will they not mail her badge out and ask that she produce the ID and pick up her badge in person the day before/of con?
2.) Now that we're married, it seems it's been quite difficult in getting CCI to respond to our several messages about changing the last name on her Member ID profile. What can we do to get the attention of CCI so that her married name is reflected on her Member ID? We've been trying for a year now.
Thanks!

on the military, to my knowledge it is a selection of badge type when creating member ID. If they want proof of a military ID, they will ask.Interesting about Military discount/verification: I've never thought about that before. I suppose it could be exactly like the free child or Jr. badges where it's more-or-less the honor system (especially the free child badges).
When you login to your member ID, there will be a contact link right under the name that is for name changes. In the drop down there will be a selection for legal name change.
Right now, responses will be delayed due to returning so I would suggest using that next week or so.

But with the free child badges, they are eyeballing the child when you get the badge at the con.Yes and no. My almost 17 year old has been going to Comic-Con since he was 3, and even when he hit his tweens and was getting tall no one ever asked for any sort of verification. My 4 year old will be going to SDCCI #5 this summer, and the last few years they've asked how old he is but I think that's obviously just polite conversation. I'm sure someone is eyeballing, but AFAIK no one has ever demanded proof that the child was indeed young enough for a free badge; heck, I've even seen obvious adults wearing kids' badges and not get hassled at the door (that's rare, but I've seen it almost every year including last couple).

Now THAT is just plain ridiculously wrong ???. You sure they weren't just acting like children??? LOL ::sarcasm:: :-XTechnically I think it was both. I suspect it was someone selling a Child's Badge to whomever. Last year I saw them at a random booth in the Exhibit Hall and there was no security anywhere near. One year it was in the Hall H line, and when I told a security person they just kind of shrugged their shoulders as if saying either "don't care" or "not my problem."
I've even seen obvious adults wearing kids' badges and not get hassled at the door (that's rare, but I've seen it almost every year including last couple).

Yes and no.
Anyone not get their barcode yet? Still haven't gotten mine
