Hey [member=1]alyssa[/member] I've gone every year and each year it gets just a lil bigger.  The beers are fantastic (Stone is my fave west coast brewery) and during the event they've a good bit of food out for folks.  It's pretty much a beer drinker's dream.  I know I've never been able to fully finish the punch card they give out for beers.  I've usually done a quick run-through Preview Night and then head over a couple hours later, but, with this next one on Thursday, no rushing required.  Looking forward to this!

I'm somewhat disappointed that it's on Thursday now. I don't have Preview Nite this year so I was looking forward to doing this Wednesday night. Thursday probably still works, but I have to be good since Friday I have to get up super early for the Indigo Ballroom. At least isn't on Friday night...

Would love to try Hop-Con this year just gotta wait before I dedicate myself to this since so many other parties occurred on Thursday.

Curious, anyone know how packed it gets like is it pretty easy to walk around and get beers without a major wait?

It gets pretty crowded but the lines move quickly.

This actually does sound very good. I can't drink during SDCC though. I'm already too dehydrated and beat as it is. Wish they'd do this event or one like it during the winter!

Oh man though, last year there were like 20 things happening on Thursday night.  Free things, that I would have skipped Hop Con for.

We went to hopcon the last three years, but we're not quite sure about this year yet. The lines were less of a problem this last year, it was very easy to hop line to line and always have a full glass.. Though the best brews would be quick to run out. I felt that I haven't really been getting my value's worth, but at the same time, i'm an incredibly slow beer drinker and am not huge on IPA's. The food is okay, not always the biggest selection. I'm honestly the most disappointed about the switch to Thursday night! I would have gotten preview night had I known.

Why on Thursday though?  Not sure if I am going to make it this year, which is sad I have been there each year since the beginning. :(

I actually prefer it being Thursday; weds night is usually my chill night before the craziness of con.  The free events last year on THursday were mostly meh; minus like two of them (Pepsi Fandom party).

So sad about the change to Thursday! The last several years Hop-Con has been a fantastic way to kick off Con week! I usually do the Comic Book Legal Defense party on Thursday (super chill) and Liberty Station is too far too try and attend multiple events that evening  >:(X I'm a big beer nerd so this is gonna be a tough decision!
