I got a room. Not at con rate, and I didn't see an option for concierge. I may try to upgrade later. It's just so nice not to have to worry about breakfast. Although, the lounge was closed for construction this year, except the first night (when we stocked up on water and snacks that lasted us the whole trip). Anyway-I am happy to be at the host hotel. I just like it much better.

Trimana across the street near the Hilton is a decent breakfast option for Friday and possibly Saturday. They have eggs, wraps, sandwiches, etc.The people working there are super nice. On the other days, I generally snack on bread & fruit I bring from home.

Although I am pretty sure I got in instantly, by the time I selected the dates and two rooms, everything was sold out. So I did reserve two twin rooms at the Hilton next door for $170 a night, cancellable up until the day before the con.

I'm OK with this, though I may check back at the Marriott site periodically. My roomie and both have 4 days plus PN and our first-choice hotel for SDCC. Seems like it would be greedy to ask Karma for anything more.

Can't wait for the first wave of Gally guests to be announced!

I think being next door is just fine. The only downside I can think of is if you have to run back to the room in the middle of the day. And it's not really *that* far.

We are getting somewhat close to this one. A great guest list this year!

The ones I am most excited about:
Steven Moffat
Sylvester McCoy
Matt Lucas (Nardole)
Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler) <3 <3
Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith)
Murray Gold (composer) <----YES! I am hoping he will do some non-Who (he did the theme for The Musketeers on BBC America, which I LOVE), but will be happy with Whovian only.

There are some notable non-Who guests:
Naren Shankar — Showrunner for “The Expanse"-hoping for a panel!
Marv Wolfman! Have been in his panels before. Always great!
Paul Cornell (a favorite guest for me)
Christopher Jones (One of my favorite artists)

I have two of my ribbons ready to go (Ribbons Galore had a sale in December for the smaller ribbon)

Can't wait to see how they came out!

Super excited for my first con of the year. Does anyone want to do a meetup? Dinner one night, maybe?

We'd love to meet up for dinner! Although it would depend on the schedule and what is going on in the evenings.

My daughter just ordered her ribbons. This is hers. Her 'Delete' Ribbons were a big hit last year (we think because they were so simple with just the one word) so she went with a similar theme.

Since the program schedule has now been released, what times work for you [member=364]Angology[/member]  (or any other FoCC people attending) to meet up for lunch or dinner?

Now that I'm coming from Vermont instead of Texas (OMG that is one helluva long plane ride), I'm arriving Wednesday evening and leaving Monday morning. If anyone is arriving early enough on Thursday or staying over Sunday night, I'd love to do Thursday lunch (or breakfast) or Sunday dinner. Every time I look at the schedule, my head swims, but I'll check here to see if anyone wants to make mid-con lunch/dinner plans. I think the roomies and I are going to sneak out one night to see Black Panther. I'll post here when our plans firm up in case anyone else wants to come with.

Great review! I agree, this is a special con. I am not a Whovian (I attended to escort my daughter, who is a huge fan) but I was made to feel welcome in my non-Who cosplay and I still found plenty of panels to interest me (science, Star Trek, etc.).
