My friend had under 400 and got tickets. But yes I think they then take an average of all posts to determine who will get tickets. This makes sense because they are looking for those who are active on the forum and not someone who created an account to just get tickets every year. 100% not saying that is what you did, but we both know a lot did. I do realize that their method will still exclude some, unfortunately, that can't be prevented. It is a fair way to distribute the tickets though.
Just like I say this is one man's opinion...and also trying to get first timers to understand that it is not that easy to get into this event and plan accordingly.
I hope that the calculation is a bit more systematic. I mean, someone creating an account, say five years with a count of 500 from five years ago and no recent activity seems to have a better chance of getting picked than someone new with recent activity of 100 count, that is trying to get to know people and be active.
Thank you to those who have shared their waitlist stories I am glad that there is hope when you don’t buy tickets. I have been one of the few who have gotten tickets into the cart but have not been able to check out in time before they sold out. Waitlisted and haven’t gotten in. Just my luck but praying I get a chance to get tickets this yearSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lol I can assure you that you are not one of the few but one of the many who've made it to the cart only to have them sold out. I'm in the same boat hoping for an email for presale this year or worst case try for general sale when that opens up and hopefully luck out.
Thanks and I hope you and I end up with tickets!! Just throwing it out there, want to be my plus one if I get tickets and you can do the same for me? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Works for me, think we need as much help/luck as we can get lol
Is this fun even for someone not into Funkos?
Can't the same be said about Comic-Con itself? You need to register for a member ID by a specific time, jump through hoops in order to make sure you know the rules (and to get a better chance, jump through even more hoops to join a buying group and figure out how they work), and people who went the previous year get an extra privilege.
There’s no special privilege if you went last year. If you were a board member yeah. But not if you went last year.
Didn't say there was. My point was that like SDCC, it favors people who have been around for longer and gotten to know the ins and outs of getting in.
