So with this past weekend's festivities over and CCI now officially sold out, I emailed Ace Parking to ask them what their story is for Ace Parking for 2015, the response I got back was the following:

Ace Parking Management, Inc. 9:34am Feb 23

Working on plans for San Diego Comic-con 2015 parking permits. Should have an update by mid-March. Thank you for your patience.

Last year this one was even more trouble than getting badges for the Con itself, hope they've got things worked out for 2015.

Anyone know how hard Ace normally is? I got lucky last year because I was on a slow night at work and able to keep trying and trying and there when it finally started working at 10 or 11pm PST.......and 14 charges to my card ahahaha

If they make a big announcement like last year, it's a pain.  If they do a soft release, it's pretty easy if you get in before the internet tells everyone.

Yea last year was rough! Especially because they took down the system and wouldn't reschedule for another day. So you couldn't plan in advance when to buy.

Sure i can clear my calendar for an hour or two if I know in advance, but i certainly can't keep revisiting a website all day. Brutal.

Everything CCI related is getting harder, last year the ACE website went down and if I remember correctly they kept updating it would be later in the day. I think late that night it went live after they put up an update stating that they were done for the day. Convention parking sold out quick because it's underneath the conv center and super convenient.
Anyway I emailed Ace and asked what happened I went to bed and you held your sale. They sent me an email apologizing and offered me a second chance at conv or Hilton parking and it was guaranteed.

Yes, Ace held a 'private sale' last year for people who complained that the site went up after Ace said it wouldn't.

Nothing like a little shot of stress a few weeks before Hotels  :P

In my case, it will be Ace Parking, which caused me and other Ace customers a lot of stress last year.  Last year we has a smorgasbord of spinning circles of death and being charged multiple times without getting any passes.  It took us over a week to get the passes we wanted and a reversal of the bogus charges.

I hope they try harder to work out the kinks this year so that we would not have the fiasco we had last year.

$1,000???  Sounds like you're either talking about the bogus multiple charges or unauthorized parking lots run by scoundrels trying to make a fast buck.

In my case, for five days at the convention center, I was charged $15 a day, plus a service charge of $4.95 a day, for a grand total of $99.75.

I did rack up $454 in bogus charges, all of which have been refunded.

Yeah that's what I was referring to. A lot of ppl were in heart attack mode because of all the charges. I was glad I went to bed otherwise I would've jump in on the late night sale and would've been charged a lot also.

If you used a credit card it was no big deal really. They refunded it within a few days. However, if you used a debit card it could have potentially ruined your life. Seriously. It took that money out of people's bank accounts! It charged my card over $1,000 b/c it went through so many times while I was trying but didn't know the charge was going through. For anyone who got that ripped from their checking accounts, I hope Ace did something special or extra for them. Overall, they really did do right by the people who complained and basically made sure they all got parking at CC or Hilton.

Oh yeah. I don't think I remember anyone here having their life ruined, but I imagined it happening to folks. If they had taken $1000 from my checking it account it certainly would have ruined mine! I don't have that kind of extra money just sitting in there unless it's actual pay day.....and even then, if they took it I'd have no money to pay my bills. And imagine overdraft fees if you didn't have that much. Nightmare. I never use debit for anything other than the grocery store or something like that for this reason and probably shouldn't even do that. If it was ever compromised that's real money they are taking!

Split the posts about Ace Parking from the "CCI 2015 GENERAL Registration Discussion Thread" and merged them into the "CCI 2015 Ace Parking" thread (just to keep it organized.  ^__~

Figured that the best place to talk about parking would be in the already existing parking discussion thread!  Ha ha.
