Great news! Thanks to Kevin, my younger brother and his girlfriend will be going to their first Comic-Con! All they wanted was Friday and Saturday. And Rebecca upgraded me to Preview Night.
Just from looking at online chatter/comments, it seems like there were a lot more people trying in open reg this year, and that the entire process moved more quickly. Those of you who got Sunday badges and are still planning to attend, good on you! There is so much to do, and you can spend 3 days doing offsites and sleeping in and then Sunday on the exhibit floor, plus be eligible for pre-reg next year. I look forward to meeting you at the con!
(sigh) The nativist bullies are at it again. I had a snappy comeback for him.
I got in for Sunday, which is good because I can participate in attendee registration later on. Though I wonder what to do the other days...
Someone asked about the buying groups and the odds of how successful they were. Below is a summary of the one I was in.
God, I can't stand entitled behavior like this. No offense to any locals, but I think its such a silly idea to assume a convention that has the biggest and best should be saved for the people that live there first. Not like there are a large number of other cons they could go to in SoCal as locals if they wanted to, given the convenience is so important to them :p It just so happens the largest international comic/pop culture convention is in San Diego
Got my badge confirmation this morning at 7:54am PST.
