The information for 2013 isn't up yet. However you can get a good idea by looking at the WonderCon masquerade FAQ.

Thanks that was helpful. I wonder how many contestants they normally accept.

2 years ago, to get a Press ribbon to take photos of the Masquerade contestants at the prefessional lit stage just outside ballroom 20, you needed to go to Masquerade desk near Ballroom 20 and its bathrooms.

Last year, they moved the lit stage to inside another large room, but they didn't have a Masquerade desk that passed out the press photo ribbons on Thursday/Friday, and I heard people had to go to an online link to get the ribbons.  So, does anyone know how to get the press photography ribbons for this year?

Thanks for the PDF link, so it says you now have to write to the coordinator.  Would have been nice if that address was specifically spelled out.  :D  There's only that one email address and mailing address listed on the last page of the PDF.  I hate being confused. Heh.

Well, I emailed the coordinator's listed email address last week about a photogaphy ribbon, and got nada, nothing, bupkiss.

Anyone know what's up with the ribbons?

Thanks for checking into this matter.  I don't mind checking in at that booth near ballroom 20, just didn't want to be caught out of step, and too late if I should have done some online form before showing up in July.  :D

Agreed on that mark.  Also those people with ribbons also seem to have an ambush point set up next to the masquerade line to stop Cos-players as they walk down the halls.  It moves a little from year to year but it normally found just before the stairs as there is a nice clean wall.  They bring aids and some higher quality lights to take some nice photos.  Security does not normally hassle them unless they form to large of a pool of people blocking the path

Unless you can get past the security checkpoints for badges, you won't be able to get into Ballroom 20 to see the Masquerade.

Just as a followup, I finally got an email from the Masquerade folks, and was placed on a list for a photography ribbon, to be picked up at the Masquerade desk like usual.
