@joyful: A general rule of thumb for hotels and parking spaces near any Downtown area (in our case, Downtown S.D.) is that the farther away you are, the lower the cost.

Oh, $10 a day isn't bad for the airport!  That's a good tip for fellow con-goers as well.

Yes, if you do not need the vehicle, it is very economical to park at one of the lots near the airport. We parked four vehicles at those lots when we stayed at the row home last year and I plan on parking my van in one of the lots again this year (we only have one spot at the condo). I was even able to find a coupon that made it less per day. It was next to a trolley stop; therefore, it was convenient. I wish I had thought to do that back in 2009 when we were in the Marriott next door to the convention center!

Which parking lot are you in that is next to a trolley stop? I'm trying to figure out how to get back from the airport, (it's only 3 or 4 miles away), but would rather take a trolley then a cab. Is it a SD trolley or a SDCC trolley?

I parked in the Park & Go Lot at  2535 Pacific Highway. It was a short walk to the San Diego Trolley Middletown stop near West Palm Street.  It is a Blue Line stop. Also, the special event Red Line also goes past there during Comic-Con.

Awesome! Thank you. I actually did see some coupons for there, and damn, I can't believe how cheap it is.

From the MTS web page about Comic-Con 2012 trolley info and parking:
"There is free parking at Qualcomm Stadium. The Special Event Red Line will take you directly from Qualcomm Stadium to the Convention Center. At Hazard Center, free parking is available on the lower level (in the evening on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday)."

Here's the link: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Hope that helps!

from personal experience;
parking at Qualcom is super easy, and there is plenty of spaces. I have heard it is safe too

the red line runs right to the parking area.  When i took it in 2010, there were ticket takers accepting $ for the trolley- it was easy to get my 3 day pass for $15

Comic Con posted this on 3.15.12 in response a question about the hotel sale on the 29th policy's, Anna listed last years policy's in which cci responded;

"Policies may be different as some contracts change from year to year. Full information of hotels, rules and regulations will be available on the 29th."

this seems to open up the possibility of no pre-announcement of the hotel list or the schedule of deposit/refund. Or the 29th will only be a release of information not the hotel sale.

Darn.. that means 12 more days of still not knowing the deal with the hotels. I'm getting anxious to book a good room. Do hotels sell out just as fast as badges?

I don't think as fast but they probably won't last a day.

So we won't hear about the hotels until Mar. 29th and we might not actually be booking that day? Ugh...stressful. I do have a backup hotel already but I wanted a closer one.

I'm just reading the specific words of the post. I will say, CC I has posted incorrect information before on the fb page.  So I wouldn't be surprised if we see hotel info prior to the 29th.

Hey all!  Does anyone have the form you had to fill out last year online by any chance?  I just was hoping to get a look so I know what I should be seeing when the system opens up.
