It depends on what you define as 'good'. WonderCon is very much a CCI con, so like SDCC, you will not see paid photo ops or autographs. You will see some studio presence and studio autograph signings, as well as panels for films and television shows, but not nearly to the scale you see at SDCC.

The exhibit floor is good, but there aren't any of those over the top commercial booths you get at SDCC.

Panes are very similar to SDCC, but with fewer of the Ballroom 20/Hall H type panels. The biggest WonderCon panels tend to be the type you might see in 6BCF at SDCC. But the smaller panels are what you would expect in San Diego.

WonderCon has no offsites, but does have a decent Artists' Alley.

I enjoy the con very much and have been going every year since 2009.

Does this help?

Pretty much what TJ said. I would add that since it is back at Anaheim, the Arena, doesn't matter where you sit, you should have a good spot to view the stage for a panel. Like that a lot and the cosplay is good there, too. Overall, it is not as crazy as Comic-Con but it's still fun to attend. I think you would like it.

Wondercon
is a great way to get a comic con fix without the lines and expense of SDCC. The one year I only got 1 day at SDCC 3 days of Wondercon took away some of the disappointment. My comments apply only to Anaheim. The LA Wondercon wasn't that great.

Can anyone tell me what the cosplay scene is like there?  Lots of cosplayers?  Or just a few?

Thanks!

There are definitely cosplayers, and (especially in Anaheim) there are some great places for group photography. so you get a lot of cosplayers hanging out in front of the convention center for photo ops.

There is also a masquerade.

There was tons of cosplay at Anaheim in 2015. Big groups doing Marvel , Game of Thrones, and video games. I think there was more cosplay there then at Comic-Con this year.

I have been to Wondercon when it was in LA & Anaheim.  As most have said, it is a small version on Comic-con & I've heard many people say it is like Comic-con used to be. I think it's fun...lots of cosplayers, old-time celebrities(Land of the Lost stars, Lou Ferrigno, Soup Nazi from Seinfeld). Nerdist panel is always there on Sunday.  If you live close by, it is worth it to go!
