As a horror fan it is soooo much fun seeing this new horror 'renaissance' or resurgence or whatever. Horror has LONG been an 'in' for filmmakers, as the films are typically cheap and "easy" to make a profit with rudimentary marketing. I LOVE the fact that after movie theaters have been clinging to survival the last couple of years due to the pandemic shutdowns, the horror genre is what's rescuing theaters and studios: not superhero movies (though obvs NO WAY HOME and THE BATMAN have certainly helped), but the cheaper-to-make horror movies.
I also think we're seeing a new golden/silver/bronze/whatever Age of horror movies. There have been so many legit great horror movies released recently; like, 2022 will be seen as quite the banner year for horror movies in the years to come!
