Still a lot of hotels available, though. Also, the $249 (or more) per night hotels still at 25 rooms available.

Just a head's up...

The Omni charged my credit for the full stay last night even though the guarantee was only supposed to be a one night charge.

Guarantee Policy
A valid credit card is required to hold your reservation. Credit card MUST expire after the date of the event. On or around November 5th, 2021, the HOTEL, NOT ONPEAK, will charge your credit card a deposit equal to one night's room charge plus tax. Reservation(s) not guaranteed are subject to cancellation.

I think something like this happened in previous years as well. Obviously its not supposed to happen.

So apparently the hotels are empty enough where standard rooms are available outside of SDCC, which means that if you have free night coupons extended from last year that are expiring this year, you might be able to use them.  I was able to use two of mine at the Hilton Bayfront for the weekend.

Okay my hotel reservation still is with OnPeak.  They haven't transferred over to the hotel yet.  I thought they would have done this by now.  Anyone in the same boat?  Just trying to figure out when I need to call them.

The date of transfer should be in your hotel confirmation letter under Changes Policy. It doesn't always match up with reality, but at least wait until then to call.
