This is an intensive two-hour course: attendees will write a rough draft of key comic book agreement provisions, engage in client interview exercises tailored to the comic book industry, dive into mock negotiations, and issue-spot common problems in publishing contracts. Facilitated by seasoned comic book publishing attorneys, attendees will get a chance to issue-spot, draft, and engage in mock negotiations.

The body of George’s work are just the tip of the iceberg of how impactful his contributions have been to the comics industry, which was apparent in every story he helped shape. George is greatly missed by the comics community but his work will continue to inspire artists and storytellers for generations to come.

Creators need to know what works now so that they can prepare their portfolios and pitches for editors. Breaking into comics is incredibly difficult and editors rarely review portfolios at the booth anymore. This gives the audience intelligent honest and actionable information about breaking into comics.
