Three years ago when I stayed at MMM I was unable to get a real fridge.  I requested one ahead of time when the rooms were transferred from OnPeak.  When I checked in on Thursday morning they were unable to fill my request.  My wife was pumping at the time.  We had to use the in-room drink cooler/mini fridge and lots of ice.

Maybe you have to get there Wednesday to get one but that year we couldn’t make it until Thursday.

I've had a bunch of SDCC hotels not give me the fridge even with Wednesday check-in, and EARLY at that, maybe by noon? They said they were already out. And yes, I too requested it earlier

I will be getting in on Tuesday so hopefully that is not an issue, it is more for keeping drinks, snacks & lunch stuff cool anyway so if there is a mini fridge then that might have to do.

I've been looking out for that as well, but so far no Moxy sightings or Pendry. Of course they are small hotels so entirely possible they aren't reported on the forum or on social media but you would think we would hear something?

Hmm, outside of those two hotels, have we heard from every other downtown hotel in Wave 1? Or are some exclusive to Wave 2?

Regarding resort fees, it seems to depend on the hotel. I stayed at The Sofia last year and they normally charge $15 for their resort fee but I didn't see any of those extra charges last year. They probably included the resort fee in their Comic Con pricing. Hope it's true this year as well.

Did you ask at check-in or check-out?

I asked nicely at check in :)

So for those staying at MGH remember to sign up for their rewards program and ask nicely to the front desk person to have the fee waved :D

No Indigo, which is one of my preferred hotels.  No Pendry.  No Moxy.  No US Grant.  No Palomar.  It looks like second round people are going to get Downtown hotels, if not the super-popular ones.  The real question is how far will they go in terms of timestamps.  Will 3+ minute timestamps get downtown hotels in the second round?

Saw someone on reddit say they got the Grant

Last year I got the U.S. Grant in wave 2 with a time stamp of 9:04

My Group got both a US Grant and a Wyndham San Diego Bayside. Both were not on their lists and a result of the book me closest to convention.

For those asking about staying on Coronado, [member=8132]puppy[/member] (thank you for the review!) just posted a review of Coronado Island Marriott Resort with further info on the experience of getting to and from the convention center via Ferry. The stay was 2018, so it's a recent experience.

See it here (it's the review on top)
