so i actually got to my comic store yesterday.  After not being there for over a month, i had a stack..not quite a foot but close to 8-10 inches.
after the normal pleasantries, the owner was very cool abt me putting a couple of books back i had changed my mind on to which i thanked him. We went on to chat abt how he ordered the comics for the store.  He said most stores take their subscription # & add a couple of books.  As a result the store don't take into account hot books, like Rocket Raccoon and have sold out of them.  In contrast he reads comics & orders what he likes. he pays attention to the market so had maybe just under a foot of rocket's in addition to two variants left.

i really appreciate the flexibility of being able to pick out books a couple of days before new comic day & still getting the 20% off everything

DC Cancelling 13 Titles
With March Issues
Published: 12/16/2014 03:26am

Green Lantern Corps
With the release of its March solicitations, DC has revealed that it will cancel 13 titles this spring, shipping the last issues in March before the two-month Convergence event that will cover the period of DC’s move to California (see "DC Announces Remaining 'Convergence' Titles”).  That removes a quarter of the DC Universe titles, clearing the decks for a major retooling of the line when the regular DCU titles return in June.

The titles represent a surprisingly wide range of sales, from Star Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie, which sold only 7,546 copies in November, to Green Lantern Corps, which sold 34,109.  The thirteen titles, with their November sell-in numbers to comic stores (see "Top 300 Comics Actual--November"), are:

34,109   Green Lantern Corps
30,907   Arkham Manor
25,654   Red Lanterns
21,377   Secret Origins
19,709   World's Finest
16,840   Swamp Thing
15,859   Aquaman and the Others
15,795   Batwoman
15,681   Green Lantern: New Guardians
15,097   Trinity of Sin
11,416   Klarion
9,350   Infinity Man and the Forever People
  7,546   Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie

I think I am jaded, but my first reaction was that they are doing this so they could put out 13 #1 issues in the summer.

Love free comic book day but in my town its the only time there is a huge line for the comic book store. I will be waiting in line at 6am, it will be pre-comic con line training haha.

I actually tend to avoid free comic book day because the stores get too crowded.  But that's just me being anti-social.   :P

Yeah the crowds do suck but the while waiting in line I usually get into deep comic/videogame/toy chat with the others in line. Comic book fans are usually fantastic people to talk to and it's great when I can talk about a series and the other person will understand me haha. I'm also pretty anti-social but the LCS is where i turn into a chatty Cathy.

On another note I am giving my Godson (5 months old) his first comic for X-mas! It's a SDCC Batman #32 9.8 CGC SS by Greg and scott. Let the brainwashing into comics begin.
