I picked up an advance reader copy of 'Lost Boy' by Christina Henry at ECCC. It's the story of Captain Hook and his relationship with Peter Pan, in a vein similar to Wicked. I believe it comes out July 4. I would recommend it to others interested in these kinds of stories.

Until Patrick Rothfuss finally comes out with his third book, I'm all about Brandon Sanderson. I can't get enough. His third installment of the Stormlight Archive comes out in November. I'm hoping he'll be back at SDCC this year to promote it.

A koan: If a book is given away for free, can it be overpriced?

Wow, that just looks like fanfiction gone amuck.

Nitpick: How is it 'wings' of desire if she's holding a drumstick?

Well the bucket on the cover has wings in it...I'm pretty sure as all the buckets I've had had wings in them :)

I'm reading White Trash - The 400-year untold history of class in America.  Interesting so far.

Excellent point. Also not sure about the rings on both hands.

Pluses: He is rocking the sleeveless-western bow tie-pocket square look.  And I like how the title is nested gently in his snowy white curls.

Anyone else excited for Andy Weir's new book? If you don't recognize his name, he is the author of The Martian.

Oh my gosh, me!! The Martian is hands down the best book I've read in the last 5 years at least, maybe ever. I love it so much. Last year I rushed to the book store right before SDCC so I could get a physical copy for Weir to sign (since I only had it on my Kindle). He was really nice and was willing to sign and take photos last year, which was great.

I had kind of missed this book, but one of my kids read it for school and left it lying around. Thought the movie was pretty well done too.

Thank goodness, I was actually a little worried that he'd never move on from The Martian, when I've seen him at panels it's all he would ever talk about.

Been working through Roald Dahl's short stories.
