Which panels gave out tickets/swag in 2017
« on: July 13, 2018, 08:23:56 AM »
I am trying to figure out my schedule for SDCC.  Just out of curiosity, which panels last year passed out either tickets or swag?  I can usually count on HBO for at least one goody bag, but with their absence this year  >:( I was looking to attend at least one panel that might provide some goodies, even if its just buttons promoting the show.  :)

I attended Hall H on Saturday last year and got swag from Westworld (drawstring backpack and promo poster) and Marvel (Thor and Black Panther posters).  Unfortunately, both are absent this year.

Which are kind of hard to get.  Well at least last year.  They handed them out at the offsite.  But instead of waiting for the people attending the panel to get there, they handed them out to anyone that walked by so by the time that many of the people from the panel got there, they were gone.  Which lead to a lot of consternation.  They told people to stop by the booth and pick one up.  You could but it was a very limited number whenever they opened the line back up and there was a lot of pushing and shoving.

I got a ticket for a t-shirt from Legion and another item from a different FX show. I don't remember which one as I don't watch it. It was just a keychain thing though.

A lot of stuff seems to be given at booths or offsites now.

Archer usually gives stuff out. . Last year, the shirts worked with the AR filters in the Archer App so you got some cool animation.

We got posters from a Marvel games panel I think it was (it was Spiderman) and the Call of Duty Zombies panel I think? LOL, I don't play either of those so they are still in their tubes in my closet. We got tshirts from Miraculous Ladybug, and either a poster or a comic book from Voltron, i don't remember which.

I got a pineapple pin from the Psych panel.  A rad t-shirt at the Supernatural panel with a timeline on it. Numerous posters which I quickly give away since I'm just not equipped to be carrying a rolled up poster around all day.  And of course a Viking drinking horn.

Of course, what would be key to the OP's question is if there was a list of all the panels that will be in the premiums room.  That's where people trade in the tickets they get at certain panels for swag.

My brother got a T-shirt and a gigantic poster of Terry Crews from the crackdown panel. I also saw some funko pops for some of the DC panels.

I agree that this was very confusing and messy last year.  And, it was made worse by the confusion associated with the Vikings funeral procession through the Gaslamp (which I did) instead of the Panel.  Those who participated procession were allowed to walk in first and got tickets for lamps at the end which were handed directly to us by those leading the procession.  There was also a giant line people just waiting for the offsite that they did try to control.  I think they wanted to wait for the panel and announced that a few times - but then then people from the general line started jumping in the procession line at the very end. If I remember right - the panel ran a few minute late. It got crazy confusing and yeah - the people at the panel got shorted.

I do wonder if they will give out horns at the panel given they are in B20 - or will they limit it to a few at the booth as they have done in years past. But frankly - my favorite swag of all time is the time-lapse video Vikings created from the year they did bludgeon booth.

We got T-shirts from The Orville panel last year.  We also got The Tick posters from the Tick panel, and a mini Lego Avengers Quinjet and poster from Lego Marvel.

Only a bite-sized poster for Death Note/Bright that IMO wasn't even worth the walk to the fulfillment room.
In previous years Vikings had given out horns at their panel, but not last year.

The Call of Duty panel gave out posters the past 2 years. Its pretty good quality ones as well. 2 years ago it was a Mondo poster by Jock.
