If we didn't get an email yet, do you still want us to fill out the form, because one of the questions was which wave did you get an email?

You can if you want and then go back and edit it later, or wait until you know your results, whatever is easiest for you.

I am looking forward to seeing if anyone gets the Moxy.

Someone linked to a reddit post where a programmer did some digging into the running man.

In a nutshell, form entry is the primary determining factor overall, but form submission time can affect the outcome.

They calculated 70 entries to form per second. So, if you’re in at 09:00:01 you will be after the 09:00:00 group(1-70) and before the 09:00:02 group(141-210). How fast you submitted will determine where you are placed in your actual group though.

You could be number 71, 140, or anywhere in between within your own “group” depending on how fast you submitted.

I think that's a definite possibility but that's also assuming they even keep track of submission time. It's also possible that they sort the order by, say, last name of the main occupant or something arbitrary like that.

The reddit post just mentioned that if the timestamp on the redirect url (which is in epoch seconds) was what they used to prioritize then they would need a tie breaker, and mentioned submission time as a possibility. I don't believe there was any evidence that submission time plays a role, and we haven't seen any since they moved to the new system.

I do think it is likely that there is a tiebreaker but that it's just something essentially random that they generate.

Random question. Has anyone ever made the request by phone and gotten the hotel of their choice?

I don't know anything about coding. Would OnPeak automatically get a timestamp on submission even if they don't particularly look for it? I guess I thought they said that form submission isn't taken into account but if they do use submission time as a tiebreaker, then they totally lied about it. I think that would be kind of upsetting.

Were all the emails today for downtown hotel reservations?  Did anyone see if any non-downtown hotels went out as well?

Has anyone had any luck getting two beds after initially requesting one?

last year I received a king/double.... checked in and asked if I could change to two beds.... they did no problem.... the year before the hotel couldn't do it.... just a roll of the dice.

They will have it somewhere in their data. Like I mentioned though, it really does not seem to have any connection to your results. Some people still fill out the form blazingly fast, others (like me)  pretty much take the whole allotted time, but it doesn't seem to affect results.

I definitely saw people on Twitter saying that they got their first/second choice non-downtown hotel.

We got the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Relieved and happy to be staying downtown but was hoping we'd get to switch things up a bit. Also going to be celebrating a monumental birthday over SDCC and wanted to be closer to nightlife. But soooo grateful and calm.

Got in at around 9:01 (was on iPad, not sure how to get the exact time) and took at least 5 minutes to complete the form. Got an email at 10:19 saying we got the Marquis Marina (second choice, first was Hilton Bayfront). First time in 4 years we get to stay downtown, we are super excited ;_;.

It depends on the hotel. For Omni I couldn’t do it, but for Westin Gaslamp I could. In both situations I booked an extra night (Tuesday) for two beds directly through the hotel, and in both situations I asked if we could just stay in the two bed the entire stay. Again, with Westin Gaslamp, they let us. So it just depends on how accommodating they are.
