It's the only way I could get all 4 days at SDCC. Plus it's a way I can give back for the years of fun.

Could someone who's volunteered at WC tell me about their experience?  I'm kinda (really) quiet and introverted around people I don't know. Do they ask you what you can/want to do when volunteering or do they just assign you?

I volunteered last year, I didn't get to choose my assignment only the time, really easy stuff though holding signs and pointing out where the line starts to people. Just signed up for pre-con volunteering, hope I get chosen  :D

Me too!  I think it's on a first come first serve basis so if you got the email and want to volunteer for a preconvention shift, send it in!

Nothing for me yet...Someone from my book club said she already had her Thursday morning shift but maybe she was a returning volunteer and got her shift earlier?  I sent them another email saying that if the first 3 morning shifts that I requested weren't available I would take any Thursday shift.

eta:  Got a nice email from Sue Lord form CCI Volunteer Dept that confirmed I am working the 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM shift on Thursday.

krod, I emailed Sue Lord the Volunteer Administrator at [email protected] regarding my request.  I had asked about revising my request to include any shift and she replied to me saying that she saw I was on the list and gave me my shift assignment.  Maybe everyone hasn't been notified yet?  So maybe you can send them an email?

It's only for volunteers. I gather they're pretty strict. They're not even allowing +1s.
