Smallville season 11 might interest me too but I've never seen the TV show so I don't know if it's a good jumping on point. I'm definitely getting Voltron Year One, though. I can't wait to see what happens next after last issue's cliffhanger.

Smallville season 11 for sure!

I have read the comic and I liked Smallville #1. I only regret not watching the episodes of Smallville where Clark met Luthor in his teen years and discovered he had powers. While Superman is my favorite superhero, I don't watch the live action stuff cause I'm afraid they might have cheap special effects. For example, I heard Brainiac doesn't really appear in Smallville, he's in human form the whole time.

I don't care what anyone says, out of all the most popular superheroes, Superior Spiderman is the best ongoing series.

Superior Spider-Man is pretty good, but my favorite new titles are East of West, Suicide Risk, ten grand, and Jupiter Legacy. Also DC's 3d covers during villains month was awesome. I was able to score all that I wanted except Joker's Daughter and Forever Evil. If anyone had an extra and wants to sell them PM me.

ok-  so late to the game but

wow that's a lot o books there

i usually get 2-4/week

i just picked up last months books

Wildfire grabbed me-  i do love matt hawkins-  he just brings it to a new level-
Low is absolutely beautiful- i'm not sure i'll stay with it but i'll give it a couple of issues
Spread is interesting, a little too horror for me but interesting.

anyone reading Trees? Velvet? ragnarok?  If not what are you reading?

I think Matt Hawkins is awesome too. Interesting guy to follow on fb. I expressed to him how much I enjoy the research he provides at the end of think tank and wildfire.

I'm pretty far behind while reading my convention purchases.  I picked up Ragnarok. Looks like beginning of a revenge story with some cool new mythology. I am not compelled to keep following it, but may pick up trade at a later time.

I am on board with trees, have to see where this is going. Very unique so far.

If you aren't getting Wicked and Divine then you are missing out!

This. I wasn't sure at first but grabbed the first 2 issues to read on my SDCC flights. I instantly added it to my pull list.

I was enjoying the DC Bombshells variants because (1.)  They were cool and (2.) Stores seemed to be not jacking up the prices, but they only did 16 or 17 of them.

The one time DC doesn't do 52 of something.  :P

As a long time comic book fan, I find that pretty funny.

Maybe I should give image a try again.  Any recommendations?

Seems totally backwards from the 90's, doesn't it?   :)

I read a ton from Image right now. All of which I like. These are my faves:

East of West
Deadly Class
Black Science
Southern Bastards
Pretty Deadly
Lazarus
Shutter

Outcast and Low are good as well. They are also both recently new.

I also read the following trades:
Sex Criminals
Saga
The Walking Dead

... East of West and Deadly Class are easily my favorite reads out of all my pulls. Saga is really popular and won a number of awards this year.

My list changes alot too.  I consider myself a DC guy but am reading next to none of it after the new 52.  I am reading more marvel these days too.

Anyone going to pick up the DC Multiversity book coming out next week by Morrison? I'm on the fence. I love alternate variations of superheroes, but looks like a big investment over time if u want to read them all.

I have got to get back in to reading, but I'm so behind on my Marvel/DC, I don't know where to start back up. Especially pre-DC rebirth. any suggestions?

The Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo Batman run was pretty good.  I also really liked the Jeff Lemire run on Green Arrow.

IDW continues to dig up the good stuff :) I have a vague memory of visiting relatives, seeing that strip in the newspaper and being upset that we didn't get it at home.  Perhaps I can find some resolution.

Informal poll:  What is everyone's thoughts on variants?

Informal poll:  What is everyone's thoughts on variants?

Can we vote in fractions? I like variants but I think there's too many of them and I don't like the day 1 pricing/demand spikes that happen. I end up preordering any I really want even though I would rather see it for real first, but there's no guarantee I'll be able to get one on a Wednesday. Also not a fan of the trend toward too many or extremely rare variants for an issue.

Mixed as well on the gimmicky themed ones but only since they don't all speak to me. Funko themed variants, nah, but I'll line up for a Martian Manhunter and Marvin the Martian pairing. If these get people to check out a title when they otherwise wouldn't then awesome.

Totally for getting different artists so that there's a choice, plus I like to display comics and there's some great artwork in the variants like the recent Sienkiewicz Hawkman.

So 0.71 in favor.
