If your looking to staying at the hard rock kayak.com has it for 7500 a night. That's a pretty sweet deal. Still can't believe they have rooms

Can I land my helicopter on the roof...:)

We always stay at the Marriott Marina-it's our yearly splurge.

Cheese and crackers! Even if you squeezed in people "A Night At the Opera"-style to share the costs, it still would not be affordable for most of us regular folks.

Just called TP to cancel my Mission Valley reservation.  I asked the rep how the wait list works but all she could really say is that even if I canceled, I'd still be on the wait list.  She said a lot of people have been calling this morning so hopefully something comes up soon!  I'll probably give it til the end of the month and rebook at MV if needed.

I'm betting the downtown hotels that have been cancelled go up tonight or tomorrow morning.

Has anyone seen any hotel activity today?  I noticed Courtyard Downtown is up (sold out, but it wasn't even there to begin with earlier).

It's not that it's a bad area to stay in; it's more like people would rather be as close to the convention center as possible (without having to use the trolley or buses).  In the end, people would like the convenience of being in Downtown.  Hell, if I weren't already living in San Diego, I'd try for a Downtown as well, just to avoid having to commute back and forth between my place and the con.

That's a good... hm, 100 to 150 years from now (it might just be for non-organic materials, ha ha).  Maybe. *laughs*

I keep wanting to invent a transporter so I don't have to commute to and from work... :(
